A combination of many guitar types

Comments about Ibanez EW Series EWN28SYENT Cutaway Nylon String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Ibanez has brought together some great features into a fun Classical with the Ibanez EW Series EWN28SYENT Cutaway Nylon String Acoustic-Electric Guitar. The tone is average for a cutaway classical when it is unplugged, but for plugged-in play, and design features it is a beautiful instrument all around. The neck is the first thing you notice when you pick it up. It is thin to start with but the profile is even thinner at the edges. Combine this with the tighter nut and it feels very fresh and new for the left hand. The body is also quite narrow, too, and the neck joint is beautiful and unobtrusive. It reminds me more of a Les Paul joint than a classical bout. Those Ivorex II parts are very impressive, too. The stuff is pretty Hard (they claim it's harder than bone) but best of all they CAD designed the nut and saddle so they are made specifically for this guitar. Not many classical guitars can say that. What struck me about the electric capabilitites of this guitar are worth noting. I think it is safe to say that Steel String Guitars sound better acoustically than through a pick-up. Surprisingly though this guitar sounds more like a classical when it is plugged-in. I run mine through a board, add a touch of reverb and play through a nice pair of stereo speakers and it sounds great. Finally, it's look and design are more reminiscent of a steel-string. The body is about 3/4 of an inch wider at it's widest point than a traditional classical which means that it really doesn't fit a standard case without forcing it a little bit. Not good! You will need a really nice classical gig-bag or an authentic case for this one. As much as I love the Musician's Gear case, it doesn't quite fit this guitar.

Comments about Ibanez EW Series EWN28SYENT Cutaway Nylon String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I had been seraching for a nice Classical Guitar but couldn't afford to spend too much. I saw this Ibanez EW in the Catalog and became very interested! I couldn't find one in the stores so I had one ordered. What a great guitar! I really like the look, sycamore and mahagony with some very nice touches. The finish is awesome...the only thing I would change are the side dots, it's very difficult to see them since they are too dark against the mahagony trim. I would recommend a lighter color, maybe silver? The sound is terrific! I play it unplugged or through my Fender Acoustic Amp. The narrower neck makes it easy to go back and fourth between my PRS CE24, my Martin DCME, and this new classical. It is very crisp and clear. I was very impressed with the quality for the price!Be sure to consider the Ibanez EW as you shop for your classical!

Comments about Ibanez EW Series EWN28SYENT Cutaway Nylon String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I am very impressed with this guitar. Tuned it up and it was ready to go. Sounds, plays and looks great. The wood is beautiful, the gloss finish is light and the workmanship is excellent. Nice setup out of the box - low action, 1/8" at the 12th - low/proper for a nylon. I like/need the thinner neck - about 1.82" at the nut - 25 1/4 scale approx. Very light and easy and fun to play. The sound is beautiful but soft due to the small body size. I never cared much for piezo under the saddle and this one is no different. Just OK. The side fret markers are dark and small - not too useful. Other than that, a great guitar. If it were stolen or eaten by a goat, I'd buy another. I am new to nylon but I have played steel string electric and accoustic guitar for about 40 years. If you would like to make the transition I think this would be the perfect place to start.

Comments about Ibanez EW Series EWN28SYENT Cutaway Nylon String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

First of all, this is a beautiful guitar. And it plays great. I love the neck, the size - wonderful. Beautiful finish - thin body - very nice.HOWEVER...I HATE the electronics! You plug it in and you hear more thump from your fingers picking than you hear note from the strings. Very annoying. That is - on strings 1-3. The lower notes - strings 4-6 you can hardly get any sound from at all in the pickup. 5th string A is almost completely none-existant. If you're plugged in, you might as well take that string off cause it won't be heard.I took the saddle out and put a wad of paper discreatly under the 1-3 strings to muffle the sound going to the pickup from them and relatively move strings 4-6 closer for more sound. That took out a lot of the "thump" and did increase sound on strings 4 & 6 - however, the frequency of the A string must not pick up well - it is still not to be heard plugged in.Too bad. This is otherwise a great guitar. I bought it at the warehouse on clearance (VERY small crack on the bottom where someone had dropped it) for a pittence or I'd definitely ship it back. But for the meager sum I paid - it's worth the money.

Comments about Ibanez EW Series EWN28SYENT Cutaway Nylon String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I got this guitar off the clearance area cause it had one tiny scratch. the guitar is nice! it sounds good, it has a good action, it's easy to play, and it feels very solid when you play it. the only problem is a slight buzzing that it gets sometimes when i strum hard, but thats just a wire that i readjust and the buzzing stops. I am very happy with this guitar and am glad I got it. oh, and its gorgeous!!!
