OVERVIEW

Exotic figured-ash wood with a unique appearance and tone that stands out.

There are a lot of guitars to choose from. The Ibanez EWC30ASERLG EXOTIC WOOD SERIES Acoustic-Electric Guitar is different. Singular in looks and sound because it's made from exotic figured ash. The compact mini-body size gives total comfort and easy playability. The grain patterns are striking. It's amazing to find an exotic wood guitar in this price range.

For faithful reproduction of acoustic tone, a B-Band UST pickup is paired with the Ibanez SRTn preamp with notch filter and an onboard tuner. Tune anytime, anywhere. You'll also be ready for whatever connections are available; the EWC30ASERLG is equipped with balanced 1/4" and XLR outputs.

Paired with the fine wood are high-end cosmetic appointments also found on guitars costing much more: an abalone rosette, Ibanez chrome die-cast tuners and a natural high-gloss finish. If you've been holding back on an acoustic guitar purchase because you haven't found the right features at the right price, your wait is over.

Looks great, sounds good. My music teacher says he it tunes up very easy. I like the smaller size and of all my guitars it is the one I like best to take to class and for study because of the sound. And I study Classical guitar, but my teacher likes it and has not said any thing to me about getting another kind of guitar for my classes. And that makes me happy because I could not afford to get a guitar like the one he has so it works for me just find. And seeing he has more than one degree in music I respect his opinion on the subject. I will get a classical guitar later on but right now for the money and quality of this guitar I am having too much fun to give it up.

I got this guitar because it sounded awesome. I originally had a Ibanez Motage 1st gen. And it sound thin as mess. This was supposed to solve the problem of the off set sound holes of the montage.

I purchased this guitar after a friend said he played on it and it was awesome. I quite frankly at the time of purchase thought it was a hideous guitar. But it sounded beautiful. And since then aesthetics has grown on me. Actually receive tons of compliments on it's appearance and sound all the time. Unplugged...

So the bad part... The out put jack both TS and XLR is an incredible let down. I'm constantly having to jiggle the stupid jack or unplug and replug just to retrieve an audible sound. On top of that, the low E string volume is almost twice the out put of the other 5 strings. The controls of the electronic are wonderful however. They're flat and sit low on the side extremely comfortable. Batteries last forever and tuner works great. I love the contour control.

The guitar sounds awesome miced and unplugged. Which is what I wanted. But now that I'm doing the entire acoustic guitar band. The electronics output and low E is starting to wear me thin. So I'm torn. I would love tell friend and students to buy this but it's my second Ibanez that has left 50/50 and on the fence.
Looks - 10
Sound - 10
Electronic - 10
Output jack - 2
Comfort - 10
Piezo - 3 (Low E)
I'm having a hard time over looking the output and Low E.

Little Sweetheart

Comments about Ibanez EWC30ASERLG EXOTIC WOOD SERIES Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I'm an Ibanez fan when it comes to acoustics. I was imediately drawn to this guitar based on looks and I get so many compliments about the look of the guitar with many thinking its a custom made guitar. The smaller body does equate to a comprimise in sound, she has a limited low end which can be a problem for some styles, but coupled with a good quality amp with effects to counter the lack of bass, you could do a lot worse. Overall she is a beauty to play and she both plays and sounds a lot better than many much higher priced guitars. So good in fact, I am thinking of purchasing another of the same model as a back up guitar.

i liked the tone of the body when the guitar was unplugged. i was disappointed with the plugged in tone. i thought it was very dull sounding. i also discovered a good amount of vibrations especially the a string. overall. i feel it is a decent guitar but i'm somewhat heartbroken.

The moment I picked one of these up, I fell in love. The size, the feel, and the deep, rich sound are everything I was looking for in a new guitar. It's a joy to play.On top of all this, it's a freakin' work of art. Beautiful.

Ibanez lover let down

Comments about Ibanez EWC30ASERLG EXOTIC WOOD SERIES Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Let me start by saying I am a Ibanez guitar fan both electric and acoustic: What I like about the Guitar: The guitar finish in exotic ash is nothing but beautiful. The onboard tuner is flawless, What a handy tool every guitar should have one of these. What I did not like about the guitar: After tuning it up I began playing, the sound was very flat and disappointing. I felt the limitations in sound were partly due to the very small size of the body. Acoustically the EW Body does not appear to be big enough to put out a quality acoustic sound. I did not plug the guitar, so this could resolve some of these issues, however when I buy and acoustic / electric guitar I expect that it can perform effectively in both arenas . This particular one appeared to have missed quality control as the action was so high on the lower frets that it was uncomfortable to play. The action height was similar to the action you might expect from a Mark II guitar found at many large department stores. Due to the limitations in the Guitars sound I felt that this guitar was over priced. What you get in exchange for the beauty of exotic Wood is a Guitar with a very diminished flat sound. I have sent mine back to get something with a fuller sound.

Comments about Ibanez EWC30ASERLG EXOTIC WOOD SERIES Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I recently bought the EWC30ASERLG, and it is the most beautiful guitar I've ever seen. I love the brilliance of it's natural, wood-grain body (especially when held in the sun). You have to see this guitar to truly appreciate the illustrious, low-gloss finish. This guitar offers the same smooth play-action as my Ibanez electric-guitar, with the beauitful tones you would come to expect from some of the top lines of acoustic-guitars, yet at a very affordable price.

Pretty Good

Comments about Ibanez EWC30ASERLG EXOTIC WOOD SERIES Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I went to a guitar store to buy an epiphone ej-200.I know the owner pretty good so he told that the ej-200 is not the best guitar in that price range. He hands me this thing and I plug it in. It sounded beautiful plugged in but it lacked tone and was quiet unplugged.I thought I wouldn't really plug in very much with an acoustic electric so I played a Takamine G series. It had such full tone and it was all solid wood(mahogony back and cedar top). I bought the Takamine. Ironically I wish I could plug in sometimes now.

Comments about Ibanez EWC30ASERLG EXOTIC WOOD SERIES Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

When you walk into a music store filled with all natural acoustic guitars this will pop your eyes. Thats what happened to me and I can happily say its serving me well. The sound is great, the action isn't too high, and the preamp couldn't be any better. It's pretty much an amazing guitar, it goes on my high recommendations

Comments about Ibanez EWC30ASERLG EXOTIC WOOD SERIES Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've been playing mostly acoustic for 30+ years, and have never played a nicer guitar at any price!(How do they do it?) Beautiful appearence, and playability. Love the onboard tuner, but hardly ever have to use it. Stays in tune wonderfully! I highly recommend to both beginners and pros alike. This is the BEST guitar in it's price range or any price range.....Buy it you won't regret it!
