Comments about Ibanez Exotic Wood EW20QMEBBD Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Like others, I played all the medium and high end guitars. This one outperforms them all. I have one other Ibanez and a Breedlove and have been playing for over 30 years. The electronics are top notch. Neck action is smooth; rquired no set-up out of the box. I haighly recommend this guitar; get a case to protect this investment.

Amazing, Full Sound

By Pete78

Comments about Ibanez Exotic Wood EW20QMEBBD Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've been playing guitar for 18 years. I've owned Yamahas, Takamines, Taylors...This guitar rivals all of them. I'm not going to say it sounds BETTER than the Taylor.... but it sounds every bit as good as the Taylor, plugged or unplugged. I was stunned when I first played it. I couldn't believe the price.Add to that the fact it's one of the most beautiful guitars I've owned, and it's a real winner. It's the only guitar I gig with now.

Good Guitar for its Price

By SEK1026

from Pennsylvania

Comments about Ibanez Exotic Wood EW20QMEBBD Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I purchased this fine Ibanez at a local music store and was impressed with the sound. However, the sound of the guitar unplugged is weak, but plugged in it does sound good. There is one flaw in the design, the one major flaw is the location of the pickup. If sitting down and playing while plugged in, contact with your causes the volume, or any other knob, to increase in volume, thus one has to be careful while playing. As for quality, it is a solid guitar, but don't let anyone fool you about the Ivorex II nut and saddle. I replaced the nut with bone and it has greatly enhanced the sound and gives it a nice warm tone that rings beautifully. When I took the Ivorex II nut off, it was nothing but a cheap hard plastic product that was hallowed out. Believe me, if you replace the nut with one of the bone products offered online, you wouldn't be going wrong, but would be improving the sound quality of the guitar and make it equivalent to a mid-range Taylor of Martin.

Love It.

By Rathe

Comments about Ibanez Exotic Wood EW20QMEBBD Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

So, I bought this guitar about 3 or 4 months ago after reading TONS of user reviews. I was originally planning to get the Zebra Wood version, but then played one of these and loved it. The sound is amazing, and sounds good both plugged in, and not. When deciding to buy it, I picked up a few taylors that were a few thousand dollars out of my price range and played them just to compare, and I like this Ibanez better. It plays like an electric guitar with a nice thin neck and lets you move really quickly from one position to another. I don't like playing a lot of acoustics anymore because the neck is just too thick feeling compared to mine. Ntm, the built in tuner is a major plus. I like to take my guitar places and play for friends and stuff, and not having to worry about taking a tuner with me is really nice. Cons:As nice as the guitar is, there are a few cons. (thus the 4.5 overall)One is that the guitar is kinda quiet sounding. It hasn't been a problem for me at all, even though I almost never plug in. It took a little getting used to, since my old acoustic was a lot louder. But, never the less, for those of you that want a really loud acoustic, this one may bug you in the volume area. The other thing (though this is true with any guitar really) Is be sure to play the guitar before you buy it. (the very guitar you plan on buying, I mean) I played one of these guitars and I HATED the sounded. it was really thin and shallow and steely sounding and just crappy. Then I picked up the next one and it was amazing, and I bought it. So, just be sure to play the guitar before you buy it. All in all, great guitar. I'd recomend it to anyone. I've had people that own Taylors and other guitars two and three times more expencive than this guitar tell me that they like mine more.

beutiful guitar

By Joe Mama-9lEUb

from Dalton N.H.

Comments about Ibanez Exotic Wood EW20QMEBBD Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar dosen't just look beutiful it plays like a dream. I tried out alot of more expensive guitars, but this one played as good if not better than some twice the price. I highly recomend this guitar to any looking for an affordable yet perfect guitar. Mine uses two double A baterries and i've never had a problem with feed back and the built tuner is awsome. Go try one if you don't beleive me.

Good value

By PinkFlydxx

from Kentucky

Comments about Ibanez Exotic Wood EW20QMEBBD Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I was originally sold on the looks of this guitar. When I got the guitar, it looked better than advertised online. Upon initial playing, I found that the action was way too high. I also did not like the high gauge strings that came with it. I lowered the action and changed the strings, and it played like a dream. The intonation was great (at least according to the onboard tuner). The pickup worked fine with no initial feedback, but did require some adjustments in the bass/mid/treble to get the sound that I preferred. All in all a very good guitar, and a high recommendation. Remember, you are not paying for a Taylor or Martin, but you are getting a great quality guitar here. Everyone that sees it comments on how beautiful the wood is on this item.

I bought the Mahogany version

By JenningsMusic

from Hesperia, California

Comments about Ibanez Exotic Wood EW20QMEBBD Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I went down to my local music store to try out a particular acoustic guitar amp. I chose this guitar to try the amp out with and immediately fell in love with it. By the time I had decided to buy the amp, I decided I wanted this guitar too but I wanted to be smart and tried every other acoustic-electric guitar they had in that store. Nothing else compared at even twice the price. Now, I wouldn't recommend this guitar if you are not going to plug it in. It's smaller and thinner than my dreadnoughts and I think the unamplifies sound is a little thin but it beats my Martin for plugged-in sound.

Hell of a buy!

Comments about Ibanez Exotic Wood EW20QMEBBD Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've been looking for a really good acoustic guitar with all the electric options and then I came across this one. I have expense guitars and garbage guitars but this one out weighs them all. the first thing that attracted me to the guitar was the looks but you can't go by looks alone when choosing a guitar. So I sat down with it and played. The range and clarity of sound is perfect. It has a bassy low end and a trebley top with the perfect amout of mids. I'm now looking to purchase another as a backup. Choose this guitar and you will not be disappointed. This guitar has feeling which is expressed with it superb craftmanship and it looks pretty onstage.

The Best Guitar I Own

By Al in Ojai

from Ojai, California

Comments about Ibanez Exotic Wood EW20QMEBBD Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I am a working musician and have been playing guitar for more than 45 years. This is the finest acoustic guitar in my collection of more than 10 acoustics and 20 electrics! I currently do a single acoustic act in upscale bars and restaurants here in California. Each time I step off stage someone in the audience asks me about this guitar. It's a fine instrument, well made, an EQ system that is excellent and a built-in tuner that is perfectly accurate. 9-volt battery replacement takes only seconds. If you have the money and want a great guitar, buy this one and you can start playing it right out of the box!
