i picked up one of these at guitar center not really thinking anything about it but i was actually very surprised at how good it sounded both unplugged and plugged in. i was impressed with the electronics and how well they could pick up the natural sound of the guitar. i'm hoping to get one of these bad boys soon!
I bought this thing a week ago and its just amazing. Its the closest thing I've played compared to my buddys high dollar taylor. Sounds great through the amp as well. Has phase button and notch filter that really add to its tonel abilitys. If you want a great guitar for a good price buy it.
I just purchased this guitar last week. I have to say I love it right off hand. The best part is that no two are alike. Mine looks nothing like the pic that is advertised for the model. I love it! It plays perfectly and I havent had to tune it yet. The wood is spectacular and it is solid. Nice weight to it. It will last a long time. No buzzing on any fret..........its perfect. Everyone that has seen it is jealous ( I love that) Works flawless through an amp and meets my expectations.........and I am very picky. Pick up this guitar and you wont regret it.
I bought an Ibanez EW20SGE 4 months ago and still hate to put it down. It plays so well that sometimes I feel like I can't hit a bum note. Chords sound right and full, but NOT bright. Unplugged, this guitar has a mellow sound. This is not an in-your-face acoustic. If you want that, just plug it in. The electronics feel a little cheesy but they work fine. Naturally, more expensive guitars will have better attention to detail. On mine, the inlay on the 12th fret was slightly raised on one side, but that was an ez fix with light sanding. Have a pro set it up for you and use a humidifier for consistency. Overall, this guitar looks killer and it plays as good as it looks!!! If you are looking for an acoustic/electric around this price, any EW20 is a MUST audition.
I own lots of electrics, mostly ESP, and I wanted an acoustic to mess around on, but being into metal and shred, naturally I wanted something that looked good. I have lots of friends that play primarily acoustic, and they ALWAYS ask to borrow mine. It is fast and sounds amazing, regardless of price paid. It looks unique, and it stays in tune very well. The XLR outs are the icing on the cake. No more DI's to muddy and distort your sound. BUY IT!!!
I got the Ibanez EW20SGE about 4 months ago but over the dry winter months, the neck warped so bad that it was unplayable. I tried keeping a sound-hole humidifier in it when I wasn't playing it, but it sounded sooo amazing (acoustically), I had a hard time ever putting it down. Fortunately, the guitar comes with a warranty. Ibanez is such a great company that they are sending me a new one. This guitar has a unique sound (and look). I think that this is the coolest looking guitar I've ever seen, and I'm glad to be the owner of one.
After 16 months, I like this guitar even more. It's been through two dry Colorado winters and the play-ability and sound are terrific. The electronics work like new and the finish still looks great. I'm not even thinking of upgrading. The neck is just right for me and I've become a much better player with the EW 20 SGE.
This is the first time I have ever seen an acoustic guitar with back, sides, AND top composed of mango wood. This guitar, built in Indonesia, sports a mini-jumbo body and headstock veneer crafted of (I think) Indonesian mango wood, a fingerboard of solid Indian rosewood, an interesting mother-of-pearl motif on the twelfth fret, and an abalone soundhole rosette. Those features are simply to die for! I'm sure it has just as great of a tone as it does appearance!
