The Ibanez G480ECENT classical guitar is a unique blend of innovative design and traditional materials with a soft cutaway body for complete fretboard access, and advanced electronics. The G480ECENT features include a solid cedar top on a rosewood body for sweet, balanced tone and optimal projection, rosewood fretboard and bridge, mahogany binding, mosaic design rosette, and gold open gear tuning machines. It has the playability and tonal versatility required for a variety of musical genres.
The G480ECENT nylon string guitar is also fully equipped for both acoustic and electric performance with an ultra thin B-Band® UST (under-the-saddle) pickup and the B-Band A3 Preamp with an onboard tuner. The B-Band® UST (under-the-saddle) pickup has a wide dynamic range and reproduces original tones without affecting the instrument acoustically. The B-Band A3 Preamp offers a 4-band "graphic" EQ design using rotary linear potentiometers for greater range. The EQ controls are cut/boost bass, middle, treble and presence controls. An onboard tuner makes tuning a breeze, and the hold-tight 9-volt battery clip holds the battery securely.

I thought I was getting a good guitar at a bargin price. After a couple months I had trouble keeping the guitar in tune. I was using regular tension Martin strings that I have used for years, standard tuning. I soon realized the bridge had pulled away from the top right in the middle so it wasn't noticable right away. Musician's Friend, as usual, stood buy what they sell and gave me a full refund. I have had nothing but bad luck with 3 different brands of Made in CHINA guitars, i.e. split neck, top warping and now bridge pulling off. The knowledge, care, quality glues, etc. are just not there. Some of these guitar companies want big profit above all else and it's at our expense. "Buy a quality guitar" to begin with and it will pay you back many times over. If we stop buying crap they will have to make something better somewhere else. I've had nothing but great luck with Korean made guitars, a little more money and well worth it.

I have avoided Classical Guitars for years. I purchased this Guitar and now I play it all the time. The sound is amazing the built in tuner works great. I have been totally satisfied with this Guitar. I purchased mine used for 180.oo and boy did I hit the jackpot.James

I'm a beginner guitarist, longtime singer and trumpet player. Classical seems like the most direct route to guitar proficiency. From previous limited guitar experience, I knew to look for a solid-top guitar, and the 480ECENT looks old-world Spanish. I did play a spruce-top Yamaha CG171 with cutout (a very similar model) but cedar won out with it's warmer tone. After several months I lowered the action with a bone saddle, which beats the original plastic saddle hands-down for tone, volume, and playability. Intonation is dead-on, and the on-board tuner is really nice to have. The battery rattled with the G-string, so I wrapped 3 layers of cellophane tape and that fixed the problem. The sides are plywood rosewood, as seen from the battery compartment, and my fretboard sure looks to be ebony, not rosewood as noted. This model has a dual-action truss rod in the neck. The urethane finish is slightly heavy, and the sanding is not exactly perfect, but nonetheless it's a beautiful instrument. If you don't need on-board electronics, skip and go to the acoustic-only version; either way I don't think you'll be disappointed at this price.

i was trying out nylon strings for acoustic shows and i thought i would just buy this guitar. when it came, there was no fret buzz, no setup required. when i played it , i was blown away ! this guitar is loud enough for a whole block of people to here you (if playing on the streets for money). get this guitar , you wont regret it!
