OVERVIEW

Made to be played. Stylish cutaway body design makes it easier for an all-access pass to the entire fingerboard.

Ibanez classical guitars take the guesswork out of finding an affordable, great-sounding classical guitar that's easy to fret and play. Whether you are looking for a traditional classical-sized instrument or a comfortable nylon-string beginner guitar, they are extremely well-constructed, affordable and have the pristine tonality and playability of much more expensive instruments. The GA35TCEBKN features Ibanez's Thinline Cutaway Classical body with fan bracing and the trusted combo of spruce top and mahogany back sides with black binding. Its redwood fingerboard is adorned with abalone off-set dot inlays while the soundhole rosette features a classical mosaic design that pops off the Black Night high gloss finish. When it's time to take it to the next volume level and plug in, you can rest assured your tone is in good hands with the AEQ210T preamp with onboard tuner and accurately captured by the discrete under saddle pickup.

Comments about Ibanez GA35TCEBKN Cutaway Thinline Classical Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I really liked the guitar. Sounds good unplugged but the strings are "inexpensive". I was very impressed with the sound when plugged in (even with the "inexpensive" strings). The finish was slightly grainy like it could have used more clear coat but it was acceptable. Now for the BAD part: The 9th fret was bad. The D string was totally flat on the 9th so I returned the guitar with no hassles. Unfortunately the 2nd guitar also had a bad fret (3rd fret D string) so I sadly exchanged the 2nd guitar for a Dean electric acoustic which I love.

Comments about Ibanez GA35TCEBKN Cutaway Thinline Classical Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I purchased this guitar since it was on sale. It came in nice sealed factory box and padding etc. When I took it out of the protective bag in the box, it was FULL of wood saw dust. It took me a long time to clean the guitar and get the wood shaving out through the port hole. The finish is shiny BLACK with sparkles. Looks nice. At times I wich it had more metallic sparkles to make it stand out/sparkle more. The final body finish was OK, black binding with white line but it was not smooth almost like it needed to be sanded and leveled or that it is separating (it is not - just looks that way)- again maybe due to poos QC of this guitar. I cannot say for others. Playing-wise, it is nice and comfortable. Decent tone but the G nylon string was exceptionally flat and making playing down to the D string not sound balanced. Not a big deal, better strings will fix that issue. The electric pickup was very nice, I connected it to my mixer through the XLR connection through a tube pre-amp and the sound was clean, no hiss, no feedback and good volume output. With EQ you get bass and treble and a built in tuner that all work well. Now for the bad part. After playing it a bit I noticed a buzz noise from the bridge area. I could not find what it was, possible the pickup system? Anyway anyway even though I liked the guitar and the tone despite being a thinline series and poor strings, I opted to return it and went for the Washburn C64SCE which is a very well finished guitar with very balanced tone but with not so nice electronics compared to this guittar. The washburn has a lot of HISS but more control with the tone with an EQ that has bass MID, treble, and a presence knob. If this Ibanez goes on sale as a SDOTD, I will probably pick it up again. Do I recommend it? Yes but if you get one with out buzz/vibration in the bridge and change the strings to some higher quality strings.
