Comments about Ibanez GAR6GAM 7/8-Size Classical Guitar:

Bought a "Factory Restock" as a Christmas Gift for my nephew. Slightly smaller body size, scale length and nut width. A blemish on the top is all I can find. According to MF rep, this 7/8 size is unique to MF.Should work well as starter guitar. By no means does it have a sound quality of a higher end instrument, but what can one expect from an import plywood box.

Comments about Ibanez GAR6GAM 7/8-Size Classical Guitar:

For the price, this is a terrific guitar. The 7/8th scale makes it ideal for players with smaller hands (like me). It isn't as loud as a full-sized model, but it is fairly dynamic with a nice, well-rounded tone. An aggressive right hand technique will yield ample levels of volume. I was surprised at the amount of bottom end it has. The neck has dot markers on the side and joins the body at the 12th fret. The fretboard appears to be rosewood but regardless, it is smooth and very playable though the fret edges are somewhat rough (a fine-cut file can fix that quick enough). Ibanez has a reputation for building quality instruments and this is no exception. For the price, this is a great guitar for beginners, students and rockers who have discovered that there is more to life than a Les Paul and a Marshall (Randy Rhoads, anyone?). Personally, I use mine to practice arpeggios as it is great exercise for the picking hand - finger-picking that is for only a Neanderthal uses a pick on a classical model. I play it almost every day and you will too, but you have to order it first. (R.I.P. Les Paul 1915-2009)
