Comments about Ibanez GRG250DXB Electric Guitar:

Ok, so I bought this at guitarcenter first off. So, sorry I can't comment on this seller. But, I love this guitar. It isn't incredibly eye catching but it makes up for that in sound quality forsure. It plays like a dream, slight fretwire stickout on the sides of neck.. No HUGE issue, and not enough to injure, just annoy. Took a whole day to get into tune but that was pretty expected as it's new and it's a floating trem system. I have only owned 1 floating trem before (jackson dinky sustainiac special, which had floyd special.) and this one is just as good if not better. Ibanez edge 3 trem is the EXACT same thing as a floyd rose, minus the odd way the trem doesn't sit flat when it's perfectly level. Very good trem. The edge 3 trem is coated in some kind of.. I don't know what it is.. Anyway it's classy, looks good, and works great. My guitar came with three springs in the back also (The slots for up to five are on there) for tension. This guitar sounds great for the price.. wow. It rivals my Ibanez RGA42FM (Fixed bridge/active pickups). The fact that it has a pickguard makes it very easy to replace internals also.. So I recommend getting this forsure. It's got everything that you want for a shredder. If you wanted to do a pickup swap, or tuner swap later, it totally allows for that. I love this guitar and would recommend it to ANYONE. Pinch harmoics sounds amazing as well (With stock pickups!!!). GREAT deal. Please invest.

    Solid Guitar

Comments about Ibanez GRG250DXB Electric Guitar:

One thing I should note, the jewel blue is not as bright as it says. In normal, room lighting, it looks navy blue. Bright light brightens its color, though. I was a little disappointed, but I can have it refinished. I love this guitar, and I'd recommend it to a player of any skill level. Just keep in mind that setting up the trem properly will give you a very stable tuning machine, and that's even after a good amount of whammy abuse.
It's a mahogany bodied guitar with H-S-H pickup configuration. It features an Edge-III trem. For the price, I really don't think you can go wrong here. It's a great looking guitar, added in. Let's break it all down, shall we?

Pickups - The pickups are all Powersound pickups. They don't offer great clarity, but they do well enough. Most guitarists will eventually switch them for something tailored to their taste anyway, so no big loss, right?

Neck - The neck is maple, and feels unfinished. It's not super thick, but it's no wizard neck, either. I rather like it. It's a little wider than I expected, but after 5 minutes of play, I would say I've never felt a neck more suited to my hands than this one.

Trem - I hear a lot of bad things about the Edge-III, so I was nervous. I have to say, I have no issues with it. First, make sure you understand that this bridge isn't like you'd expect, the angle it should be when neutral isn't quite like you'd imagine. Second, if you're still having tuning issues after setting the bridge properly, go buy a little jar of carmex, loosen your trem posts 180 degrees, and with a toothpick, rub a little of the carmex where the knife-edges meet, and turn the posts back. Work the trem, retune, and see how vast the improvement is!
Surprisingly, aside from the pickups, this guitar is rather quality equipment. It's a coal covered diamond, as it were. I love it, and I intend to make some upgrades on it to make it a perfect, lifelong instrument. You can't expect a lot from an entry level model, but I'm not an entry level player. In fact, the only reason I got this guitar was the looks. I intended to replace everything in it. Ibanez doesn't offer many RG's with this particular look, and certainly not in these colors (I got Jewel Blue).
For what you get, the price is a steal. I've played many, many guitars, and while this may not be the best, it's certainly my favorite. I intend to buy another, maybe in red.
