I got this guitar for Christmas, boy was I happy. This guitar has everything you need to start rocking out. I really would give all the ratings a 10 but I really couldn't. For the features you have everything you could want on a guitar, well, except for a whammy bar. This guitar was really meant for rhythm but it sounds great for everything. The pickups are great. The Neck pickup is quite jazzy and sounds like you're playing Red Hot Chili Peppers. The Bridge Pickup is great for distortion and will give you that clear treble sound. You have 3 pickup switches, Neck, Neck+Bridge and Bridge. The Neck+Bridge sounds amazing as well. I have heared that these stock pickups should be replaced with better ones for full satisfaction though, so I'm putting on some Duncans And Burstbuckers on soon. Quality is fantastic. This thing is literally a black mirror! WARNING, EXTREMELY scratch prone. I cry a little bit everytime I see this baby in dead light. But the further away you are, the shinier it looks. Don't let the scratches get to you, get a case! Another sad fact is, the strap holder in the back was very loose for me, it doesnt fall out but it is very spinny. Worst of all, in months one of my tone knobs fell off. One of them is really sensitive and makes the knob fall out every now and then. But oh well, don't let that get to you either. Might be my own issue.Value, it has to be the best. This is also a stage guitar so you will be paying cheap money for this guitar.Overall, I love my Iceman, thanks to Daron Malakian for showing it off. Oh and it is a bit big and heavy, but don't be a weakling. :]

Unique guitar

By Arrrrrg

from Lebanon, KY

I bought an Ibanez Iceman X for my first guitar, but I wasn't satisfied with it. So I bought this guitar: The Ibanez Iceman 400. It is a great guitar that's good for playing any type of music. However, one of the volume knobs was missing when recieved the guitar. I found it in the bottom of the box. Guitarwise... I recommend this guitar to anybody who wants something different.

I love the Iceman

My local music store had one of these and after seeing it on the wall several trips over there, I finally picked it up and I'm glad I did. The neck isn't like the Wizard necks but it works. I would like 24 frets but I can do without. I love the body style. If I could, I'd get this is a custom 7 string version. The pickups could be better but Nick from AILD replaced them with EMG 81/85 set and it sounds great not to mention he plays crazy fast. Basically, try it before you buy it(if you can find one).

What a killer axe!

By DHC

from Alabama

I just recently nabbed a new IC400 up, and am totally in love with this guitar! I'm a luthier, and have built custom guitars for over 20 years, but still have a weak spot, when I see an axe that I like. This thing is lightweight, plays like a freakin' DREAM for a production guitar, and brings you back to the glory days of the now infamous Ibanez beasts of the late 70s & early 80s. Most bang for a buck out there. Snag one, before they go away. You'll be happy. Now, if I could only find a case for this beast........

Amazing guitar!

I've wanted one of these Iceman's for the longest time. 5 years to be exact. The guys at Dave Phillips in Phillipsburg, NJ found one for me and ordered it. And the first time I played it I loved it. All it needed was a good set up but all used instruments tend to need one. The pick ups are great but I am getting Dimarzio Evolutions in it because to me they sound better. The neck is perfect and the body is extremely comfortable. This is basically my dream guitar. If I were going to suggest it to anyone I would but I want to collect as many as I can being as I am a collector of Iceman's. If anyone is willing to part with theirs just let me know.

Awesome

By Dylan_Iceman

I got this guitar for my birthday a few days ago. I have to say, this is a great guitar. It sounds beautiful on distortion, and it has a good clean sound that I didn't expect. It has a really sleek neck and it's VERY easy to play on. But, when I got it, it buzzed very badly with the factory strings. I made a neck adjustment and I'm getting some new strings soon and it should be good. Great guitar!

awesome!!!!!!!!!

I bought this guitar a year ago and its still my favorite !I own three other Ibanez and rg 350,a rg 550 ,and an awesome 1984 destroyer but this guitar is the one I keep coming back too. And as far as shredding on it, I do fine I can play some pretty fast sweeps and Michael Angelo style speed picking. It?s a great rhythm guitar too. Now if only Ibanez would offer some more colors .I?d buy 3 more!

Iceman Rules

This guitar is the best I've played for the price range. I play it through a line6 spider 112, and it sounds great. The only reason I gave this guitar certain low ratings, is because one of my tone knobs came off but glue fixed it up. If you want an extremely versatile guitar get this one, you'll love it.

Great guitar with awesome sound and look.

By Spaniard-VxgBM

from Woodbridge, VA

I have an IC120 which was overall a good guitar. I never had a problem with it, so I figured the IC400 would be alot better - and it is! It feels so good to play and the sound is awesome. The look is also impressive. You can't go wrong with this guitar if you're into any hard rock. My only complaint is the locking straps won't work well because of the shape and the location of the strap knob.
