I know this model is discontinued but if your looking for some info, I have plenty. I have been playing, teaching and restoring electric guitar since 1979. I thought I would never own an Indonisian made electric. But I was wrong. First off, it is a neck-thru with a reverse headstock. A 1st for an Iceman. I had to have it. I read where people complained about the neck and buzzing but I knew a proper setup from a 25 year pro would fix that. I got the guitar used for for$4and the previous owner didn't have it for long as it had the strings the original owner had on it. It was tuned way down to B with 13's!! Needless to say the truss rod was loose upon setup. The strings were at least a year old if not older so this poor neck was never in good shape during its initial years. (its a 2007 model). After tweaking the neck for 30 minutes, it settled. I went with GHS 10's. The bridge is the best hard tail setup I have worked with. Way better than a stop tailpiece design. It has many adjustments and I was able to dial everything in with ease. I just love the amount of adjustments from this thing and I wish I had it on all my hardtails. Now the action is perfect, there is absolutely no buzz throughout the board. I was amazed how quickly the strings stretched and stayed in tune. I do two step bends often and it can handle the tension without going out of tune. The pickups are really good for metal. I play rock and metal. Their extremely quite yet they have a lot of attack. I prefer duncans so I can be a little biased but if you play metal, look no further. But if you play rock and need a fat tone, especially for the neck for that Les Paul tone, forget it. These pickups do not have that kind of warmth. So they are kind of thin. I would rather have a hot pickup that can get warm sounds. Espicially so on a mahogany body.
I have had no issues with the pots or wiring as of yet. I would have gave this model 5 stars but the clear coat dings and cracks easily due to its weight. The Cort factory has come a long way in it's 30 years or so but not when it comes to the finish. I have the white model. I'll wind up refinishing it down the road but to some, this would be bothersome. If you get one, just handle it with care. On a final note, the guitar is extremely heavy. Heavier than my Les Pauls. You would think great sustain but the 5 piece neck-thru cuts into its sustain. Good luck and rock on!

Like my title says, beware! First, I'll mention the good stuff about this guitar: The pickups are pretty hot. The shape is cool. And now for the bad stuff:The frets on mine were not leveled properly, causing lots of buzzing. That is what usually happens with Indonesian made guitars. Also, even after getting it set up twice in two weeks because of intonation problems, the guitar would not stay in tune, and the notes on the upper frets would sound dampened. Also, the fingerboard, when looked at closely, had a bunch of scratched pieces of unfinished wood near the "jumbo" frets. Also, the binding near the top of this Iceman's headstock seemed to be peeled off and discolored. If all that isnt bad, the guitar is very very heavy, which wasn't a big problem for me, but it just didnt produce enough sustain to justify the weight. Also, finding a decent case for this guitar was very very very very difficult, and any case that did fit it was a bass case.I just returned this guitar back because simply put, there are better guitars out there for the money, which will not let me down as much as this Indonesian-made Iceman. The quality control on these guitars is unbelievably horrible. Beware.

      HEAVY MEATL GUITAR!!

      By Hong Moon

      from Montreal, Canada

Comments about Ibanez Iceman ICT700 Electric Guitar:

every thing is awesome except that the neck joint is really fleshy. i would really recomand this guitar
I love the features on this guitar; DiMarzio D Activator pickups, 5pc Maple/ Walnut Wizard II thru-neck and of course the cool body shape. the only con is that it is really heavy and where the neck meets the body there is alot of flesh there which is good and bad; it is reallt stable but its quite hard to reach the hign fret.
cant say much about it its fantacstic!!

Comments about Ibanez Iceman ICT700 Electric Guitar:

I really liked this guitar. I'm VERY picky when it comes to guitars, and I'd pick this one over any other Ibanez. If you're trying to decide between this and the Xiphos, pick this. The neck is better, it doesn't have that crappy Edge III tremolo, and DiMarzios sound amazing. Props for this guitar being stock with DiMarzios. I'd definately buy this.

      It's gonna be awesome

      By Ilrath

      from salt Lake City, UT

Comments about Ibanez Iceman ICT700 Electric Guitar:

I was considering between this guitar and the xpt700 Xiphos. I went with the Xiphos because it had a floyd rose style tremolo, though I kinda wish I went with this one. I think tremolos are to much hassle considering how rarely I use it, and I know now everything else on the guitar is awesome. The D-Activators are awesome, High-gain, and don't require batteries. The Inlays look totally awesome, and the black/white contrast is very striking, and just as noticeable as the red chameleon. Plus, it's much more balanced standing. I definitely recommend this for any punk/metal player, and am probably getting it for my next guitar.

      I prefer a 7 string...

      By Morgan-l.XcI

Comments about Ibanez Iceman ICT700 Electric Guitar:

So if this had a 7th string, maple fingerboard and EMG pickups, I would buy it. I love the neck-thru design and the neck is nice and fast. I love the original Iceman and was excited when they made this one. I'm not a fan of the DiMarzio's but they are pretty good just not for me. Not too heavy, almost just right. Very nice guitar.

This guitar is great for metal, if your a system of a down fan like me this guitar is perfect for heavy type music. Its worth the cost but the weight of the guitar you have to get used to.

      My guitarist's guitar.

Comments about Ibanez Iceman ICT700 Electric Guitar:

I'm a drummer, but play guitar as a hobby. The guitarist has this guitar in black and I must say. It looks and sounds amazing. He puts it through a Line 6 Uber-Metal pedal and it shreds like none other. From what I have seen and played it is well worth the money. Go for it. Perfect for metal.

      Awesome Iceman

      By Iceman Man

      from Chicago

Comments about Ibanez Iceman ICT700 Electric Guitar:

The biggest problem you will have with this guitar is finding a case to fit its awesome one of a kind shape! The Dimarzio D-Activator pickups are amazing. Just as pro sounding as EMG 81/85 setup but without the hassle of changing batteries. The neck is very fast, and the jumbo frets are great for vibrato and soloing. The strings the guitar came with were horrible, so I put on some ernie ball slinky's and now the guitar is perfect.I got mine in Black w/ white trim, very glossy/shiny...looks like a million bucks!if you are a more experienced player, and want a tremelo bar with your iceman, wait for the Sam Totman version.
