What a package! Everything you need to start playing. Everything included is high quality and the amp puts out an impressive volume for it's size.
The package comes with everything you need to start rocking, even a distortion pedal! It has dual humbuckers which are more geared towards the heavier stuff. The finish is nice. The only thing I don't like is the amount of RF interference I get. I don't know if it's because the guitar isn't shielded well (or at all) or if the package includes cheap cables. The amp is decent, loud enough to annoy the neighbors, but doesn't have a line-out plug. Overall a good buy!
I'm only rating the guitar here. The GAX50 was my first electric and still one of my favorites. You'll find features here you'll only find on guitars costing hundreds more. Great axe for the beginner because of its cost, and yet as your skills advance, you won't need to go and update to something "better". I recommend it for anyone wanting major quality with a limited budget!!
This is an awesome guitar pack. Great sound out of the box, beautiful body and light weight. Wonderful starter kit comes with everything you need to get started. Really awesome!!
The guitar is good looking and easy to play, the amp is good as well, and the whole package is pretty cheap so it's worth the while.
I have found this inexpensive Ibanez guitar to be a very playable, fun machine. The cords sent with it are cheap and not very good, but can be easily replaced. The Ibanez 10 watt amp kicks pretty well for a small practice amp, but the guitar itself is worth the price. It rocks, it is durable, and sounds great. Highly recommended from an old ex-rocker getting back into it after a twenty year absence from the music scene.
Wow. This is definitely the best beginners guitar package out there. Good guitar, good amp, and an ok pedal, all for a really reasonable price. This pack is way better than the Squier Strat pack. Everything in it is better!
Nice ghuitar, when i got mine there were a couple of scratches on it (Probably from shipping) but the scartched arent huge ones, you need a good light to notice them. But overall the amp is nice, the pedal isnt the greatest thing, but i see it as a pedal just to get the feel of other ones. But the best thing about this pack is the guitar. When I started playing with it, i was really amazed what it could do for its price. It doesn't have any fancy detail on it probably why it not so much. But the sound is excellent, I highly recommend it to a beginner or Intermediate player.
The amp isn't good. The guitar is really good, but when I got mine I found about 3 scratches around guitar about the size a quarter. If it didn't have scatches on it, I would give the quality a 10.
First guitar I got, helped me learn to play. Great.
As a starter guitarist I looked at all the packs. If you have nothing this is the way to go. Sounds as good as it looks! Only pack to include a distortion pedal.
I think it's great except for the fact that you don't have a cable or string lubricant and alot of people would like it alot more if it had that stuff included in for the same price or maybe just a little higher.
A buddy of mine just got this pack to learn on and I feel it was the right match for him. Good guitar for learning.
The pedal mine came with was a fuzz distortion pedal, it makes the sorriest sound.
This guitar rocks! One of my friends recieved this as a christmas present and I had the chance to play it. It played wonderfully and the amp sounded fairly good.
I purchased this guitar very recently, and I believe it is the greatest guitar I have ever purchased. The fingerboard is easy on my fingers and smooth enough for easy playing (or at least in my opinion). The guitar's look itself is a sheer beauty; it gives it a classic look. The amp is pretty decent, but good for my playing area (an apartment). Bottomline this start-up kit is one of the greatest values ever.
this is one of the best guitars iv'e ever played. for its price i mean. it came with a few scratches on it but that isn't a big deal. i still think the epiphones a re better but ibenez is sure stepping it up. i got the other starter pack for ibenez and that was my first one. i was 7 and i thought it was great. but i still think this one is better
I bought this pack almost two years ago when I finally decided to learn to play. I figured why spend a lot before I knew if I'd be committed enough to stick with it. I can always upgrade later. Well, I haven't upgraded because I haven't needed to. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the control cavities are even shielded on a guitar at this price range. The amp is plenty loud. You get everything you "need" and some bonus stuff as well :-). Definitely worth every penny.
I am a beginner and I love this guitar. The amp is okay, a little small, but it will do for now until I can afford a nice marshall amp. The tuner isn't very good, but I purchased a Boss TU-2 tuner to replace the cheap one. The neck on this GAX50 is great and it sounds like a more expensive guitar would. The cable is cheap, but I replaced it too. I would recommend this package to any beginner or as a second guitar. My band members really liked it and commented that it was a well built guitar for the money I spent. Ibanez seems to build some great products.
It's high quality, nice looks and it comes with a distortion pedal!
