OVERVIEW

An ultrafast playing experience with a gorgeous quilted maple top.

Meet Ibanez's new made-for-metal guitar series, Iron Label. Working from the chassis of their famous RG, they modded and tweaked with the heaviest of metal in mind. Decked out in an icy white finish, The RGIX20FEQMs quilted maple top and basswood body hits that perfect formula comfortable weight and rich in sustain. With jumbo frets and bound Ebony fingerboard, playing speed and comfort are carried to a new level by the original innovators of the fast neck, with their latest Nitro Wizard neck design.

And no matter what your signal chain, an EMG 60 in the neck position, and an EMG 81 in the bridge guarantees a thick, complex distortion from which to carve your signature sound. The reliable Gibraltar Standard bridge is the envy of the industry, and the performance enhancing killswitch puts you in command of a head-turning strobe effect. With the purposefully Spartan Iron Label, you won't find a feature here that doesn't contribute directly to waking the dead.

Comments about Ibanez Iron Label RG Series RGIX20FEQM Electric Guitar:

This guitar was delivered in an unplayable condition. When I removed it from the box I noticed it was out of tune. No big deal, I tuned it up and played an unplugged chord...Ouch... Bad tone and buzzing strings! After inspecting the neck I could see that it needed adjustment. Figured some new strings might be good also as the ones that were on it were showing corrosion. With the fret edges protruding badly I was considering returning it. I decided to hang in there with this guitar so I removed the strings, adjusted the truss rod, (very easy) and filed the fret edges down followed with some 1,000 grit sandpaper. This is the first time I had done this type of work and had no trouble. The guitar comes with strings that are 9's which seemed to be too light so I installed 10's after the neck adjustment and fret work. Now the neck sits perfectly straight and with the fret edges cleaned up the guitar is basically flawless. Feels great and sounds great too! Keep in mind I don't consider myself a guitar player. This guitar was a gift for my son that I could now happily present to him. He likes it!

Comments about Ibanez Iron Label RG Series RGIX20FEQM Electric Guitar:

Ebony flatboard really slaps, allowing easy taps and speedy fretting. Wide nitro-wizard feels awesome. Jumbo frets means no crowding of my bigger fingers. Looks killer. People love the cloudy finish and gold hardware.
