OVERVIEW

Made for metal with a Nitro Wizard neck and DiMarzio pickups.

As the legion of converts to the “made-for-metal” Iron Label series keeps growing, Ibanez continues to tap the seismic underworld for inspiration. Working their famous S Series body style from the “chassis” up, Ibanez speaks to the deft skills of the sinuous shredder with the SIX6FDFM.

Ibanez's Iron Label SIX6FDFM solid body electric guitar takes the speed and performance of their S series to a whole new level of intensity. It’s light enough to amaze in terms of comfort, yet heavy enough to provide the tone and sustain that the S series is known for.

The SIX6FDFM features a graceful 3-D-shape mahogany body with stunning flamed maple top, and Ibanez's cutting-edge 3pc maple/bubinga "Nitro Wizard" neck for greater speed and stability than ever. An ebony fretboard features quick response and great articulation with today’s down-tuning. The acclaimed Ibanez Gibraltar Standard II bridge improves sustain and provides faultless intonation. Gotoh locking machine heads help provide superior tuning stability and expedite string changes.

Developed in collaboration with Ibanez—DiMarzio, Fusion Edge pickups have been engineered to produce a powerful, distinctive tone with a crisp, cutting, high end, and a tight, compressed bottom end, minus any muddy mid-range. An added coil-tap feature, easily accessible through a conveniently located on/off mini switch, provides even greater tonal options. Case sold separately.

Comments about Ibanez Iron Label S Series SIX6FDFM Electric Guitar:

This guitar has been shipped to me twice now . That being said ; I'm not sure what quality control is up to these days as my new one also has an obvious blem ! The guitar has great sustain , sounds great, plays great and really looks nice overall ! I actually lowered the string saddles quite a bit with zero string buzz and the intonation is on ! I'm keeping this guitar because 1) I love Ibanez guitars !
2 ) It plays great !
3 ) It has great sustain and tone.
4 ) The dimarzio pickups are perfect for metal in every
Way bridge or neck sound amazing !

Finally ; Musicians Friend would exchange it again to make me happy but I am going to live with it because the pros outweigh the cons ! My favorite in this series Ibanez ever ! I sold the others ! This is a keeper !

Comments about Ibanez Iron Label S Series SIX6FDFM Electric Guitar:

I am a huge Ibanez fan and they are my #1 guitar of choice ! That being said ; I was a bit disappointed by how the stained finish bled right into the binding around the body ! I tried but , just couldn't live with it ! It played great , sounded great and overall looked beautiful . I have a FR that was half the price of this and have nothing but great things to say about it as well as two prestige ( great )'models . If it weren't for the poor craftsmanship on the finish I'd give it five stars ! Hopefully the replacement one will be as great as I've come to expect from ANY Ibanez !
