You don't have to wear a mask or hail from Iowa to play this incredibly full-toned 6-string.

The MTM1 Mick Thompson Signature Electric Guitar has a 5-piece thru-neck and mahogany body that pump out the full, fat tone with strong sustain that makes Mick's playing in Slipknot so profound. It's as awe-inspiring (and dangerous looking) an electric guitar as the artist who designed it. An Edge FX bridge offers double-locking stability with fixed bridge simplicity and sustain. This is a guitar made for heavy rock and metal, featuring Seymour Duncan Blackouts humbuckers, a mahogany body for rich warm lows and sweet sustain, and 24 jumbo frets offering easy playing for leads and chording. Factory equipped with heavy strings tuned to Mick's preference of C# tuning with a dropped B: (low to high) B-F#-B-E-G#-C#.

    Features

    • Mahogany body
    • Jumbo frets
    • Bound rosewood fretboard
    • MTM1 special inlay
    • Fixed Edge bridge
    • Seymour Duncan Blackout pickups

This guitar is the total packege. I recently purchased my MTM1 and I am completely thrilled with it. The EMG pickups are amazing. If you are a fan of the 81/85 set, don't turn your back to this guitar. The EMG 60 (neck pickup) on this particular guitar soungs great. Although I am a fan of the 85 as the neck pickup, I would not change it on this guitar. The five piece neck plays amazingly. With 24 jumbo frets and a sculpted heal, this guitar is the ultimate shred machine. Don't let the single volume pot deter your intrist because I was the same way and believe me, you don't need tone knobs on this guitar. With this guitar less is more. The coolest thing about this guitar is the bridge. It has all the sustain and benefits of a double locking tremolo but without the tremolo. So you can bend and beat on it all you want and never throw it out of tune. The only complaint I have is that the clear tones are not the best but what do you expect from a flat top metal guitar.

I first saw this guitar at my local music store.I love slipknot so I had to play it. I did not like this guitar at all first off it was heavy really heavy and it was hard to keep in tune and it had really poor tone and uneven weight. I have a dean V79 that is a much better guitar for allot cheaper save your money and buy a dean.

    ibanez mtm1

Comments about Ibanez MTM1 Mick Thomson Signature Series Electric Guitar:

The Ibanez mtm1 is a awesome guitar for hard rock to metal. I have owned a lot of guitars( ibanez pgm 500, pgm 301 and rgr 1570 fender strat etc..)but this one is right there with the best. The edge fx bridge is a godsend for people who don't like or use a floating floyd rose tremlo but want the extra stability. The seymour duncan blackouts really cut through and complement the mahogany body perfectly. The neck is a little thicker than my normal wizzard necks but the playability makes it a easy adjustment. I would recommend this for anyone who is looking for a guitar that can scream metal and back it up with tone

    Awesome Guitar

Comments about Ibanez MTM1 Mick Thomson Signature Series Electric Guitar:

I've owned alot of different guitars through the years, but this is definately one I will NEVER sell for ANY reason. It's the easiest guitar I've ever played. This thing practically plays itself. If you're curious, just try one and see for yourself. I promise you'll leave with it.

She's a beautiful work of art!

Comments about Ibanez MTM1 Mick Thomson Signature Series Electric Guitar:

Mick designed himsself and the public a nice, fast, active, neck thru shred machine! I don't think I've ever tuned this thing since I put new strings on it. That's how much stability you get with the double locking EDGE FX bridge in combination with the locking nut. The Blackouts are better than EMG pickups tone wise but don't seem to have as much bite. The harmonics are LOUD though and i love it! What else is cool is that the red is a different red under every light. The blood red is a very cool color. I love the simplicity of a single volume knob.

This is definitely my new favorite guitar. I love the neck thru Wizard II neck, I love the fine tuners, I love the color, and I definitely love the MTM1 with the blackouts! Easy to shred on, and awesome riffage coming from this machine!

    Plays Great

    By JobForACowboy22

Comments about Ibanez MTM1 Mick Thomson Signature Series Electric Guitar:

I tried this guitar out a while ago at my local guitar store. This guitar was extremely light and the Wizard neck was a very thin U shape that did not disappoint. The EMG 81-60 combination was great. The 81 gave a great sharp sound for the lead, and the 60 gave a nice warm sound for the rhythm. The action on this guitar was nice and low and the playability was great. I found this guitar should've had a tremolo because it seems useless to have a locking nut without a tremolo. Other than that, this guitar was flawless. BUY IT!

    Good buy

Comments about Ibanez MTM1 Mick Thomson Signature Series Electric Guitar:

This guitar is a very good guitar and is well worth the money spent. One of my friends bought this a year ago, and there has been no problems with it. The only bad things is that it did not come with thicker strings and came in standard tuning, not C# tuning. If you get this guitar you will not regret it. It sounds great on even the worst of amps.

    Amazing Guitar.

Comments about Ibanez MTM1 Mick Thomson Signature Series Electric Guitar:

This is easily the best guitar I have played in all my six years of playing guitar. This guitar feels like an extension of your arm. This reliable insterment is worth the money. The low end crunch tunning is perfect for anyone who like playing slow crushing riffs or speedy grindcore type riffs. This guitar is a must have for anyone who plays guitar.
