Comments about Ibanez RG Series RG421PB Electric Guitar:

I've been playing for about 9 months (hour and a half every night). I had one of those cheap starcasters that I got from a pawn shop. I decided to get a "real" guitar and researched for about a month. At a pawn shop I decided I liked the lightness and the feel of the neck of these RGs.

I ordered from this site so I can get the finish I wanted along with one without a Tremolo. Upon getting this one I immediately started playing a bit better. Sound is cleaner, neck is more comfortable, and I'm able to use my pinky easier (maybe from the flatter fret board).

I'm perfectly satisfied though I don't know how much my opinion can matter as I'm a newer player who is comparing this to a very cheap guitar.

Comments about Ibanez RG Series RG421PB Electric Guitar:

After being disappointed with the last two wood grain patterned guitars I purchased, I have come to the conclusion that you MUST have the retailer send you pictures of the EXACT guitar you will be receiving. While this guitar does have a good burl pattern on over half of the front, it does not on the rest which makes it look half done. This is not what I thought I was buying! This guitar should have been inspected by Musicians Friend staff, and sent back to Ibanez.

Comments about Ibanez RG Series RG421PB Electric Guitar:

I just got this and have been playing it for about an hour, so these are just initial impressions. First, the brown version looks nothing like the pictures on here--it's much darker and richer in color and looks pretty close to other "walnut"-colored Ibanez models available from MF. It looks a lot better in person than the pictures, and I didn't have any issue with the "burl" pattern on the top as did another reviewer. The headstock is very attractive and gives the appearance of a much more expensive guitar. Playability is fine--typical thin, fast Ibanez neck, and the set up seems about right straight out of the box--I only had to tune it. The body seems significantly smaller than other Ibanez guitars I have (a JEM and a Gio). It is VERY light and very comfortable to play on. The INF pickups are fine--nothing that will blow you away, but for everyday playing, they are perfectly suitable and sound good plugged into my Line 6 Spider IV. I got this for half off normal street price, so I am very happy with it so far. I wouldn't pay normal price for this, but if you can get a deal, it's a worthy guitar.

Comments about Ibanez RG Series RG421PB Electric Guitar:

I love the feel of this guitar and it's the best guitar I've picked up, my only problem is the fret buzz. When I got it the fret buzz was horrible but after a while it went away except for the 16th fret on the low E. Along with that the Volume Pot got loose after a while. Other than that the guitar plays great and sounds beautiful and is versatile.

Comments about Ibanez RG Series RG421PB Electric Guitar:

Personally I don't care for the sound of the pickups but I bought it for my 15 year old son who loves the sound. That said, though, by playing around with the selector switch and the tone knob, I can get a sound I like too. The guitar has a good solid feel. It's not flimsy. Great action. Easy to play for a beginner and no string buzz. Its well set up. I feel like we got excellent value for the price.
