i bought this guitar four months ago and it's incredible the way that it sounds, it's great. This is my favorite guitar, i love it.
for the money, its VERY good. locking trem stayed in tune after whammying up and down hard! Looks great, fast neck....you cant go wrong with this model.
This guitar is absolutely the all around guitar. With these pickups you get almost any tone a rock guitarist needs. The hardware on the guitar is second to none. I'll never buy another Korea piece again. Japan has proven their quality on this one!
I just got this guitar and I must say that I am very impressed. I was trying out all kinds of guitars at the shop. I even played my dream guitar, a Gibson Les Paul Voodoo, and found that this guitar was better handling and was lighter. The only downside is the slightly over the top price. I got mine used for 300 dollars so that doesn't matter for me. One major disadvantage to the used factor was that it was Bright Sunshiney Yellow. Much like Frenchy's mustard.
Well made guitar with a fast neck and awesome looks. The DiMarzio/IBZ pickups are PAF pros in disguise. Plays and sounds great.
This guitar is very good and reliable.
Features: This guitar is great except for the complicated tremolo system...it sounds beautiful and keeps great tune and tone even with a lot of tremolo action, but it's just plain difficult to GET it in tune, especially after changing strings...and forget about the hassle of tuning down...pull out your toolbox.Quality: I've owned a few Gibsons and Strats, but none compare to the beauty and precision of this Ibanez. The Dimarzio pickups are outstanding! I've never found a guitar that had the exact perfect mix of crisp cleans and amazingly brutal crunch that this one has. I'm sold on Ibanez for life!Value: I went looking for one of the best for the price range and definately got it.Overall: Like I said, take away that crazy tremolo system and you got yourself THE BEST guitar out there for this price range.
Ibanez is synonomous with good guitars, but this is definitely one of their best in my opinion. It has the specifications to compare to the signatures, with a much lower price. All and all, this is a great guitar to own.
I purchased this guitar about 3 months ago and the pickups give it amazing tone, the neck has 23 frets which i personally find make it easier to solo, you don't have to reach in as far to hit the high notes. I have tuned this guitar 2 times in the past 3 months, and they were very slight adjustments to only 2 or 3 strings each time and that's without using the locks on the top. I would recommend this guitar to anyone.
12 years ago I fell in love with the RG550, I used to play it every time I went to the local shop. Now I own the latest and greatest 2550. It is awesome. I love it. The neck on this guitar fits the hand so well. Body is very lightweight, hardware is top quality, tone is great for rock, pickups are great for a "factory pickup".Kudos to Ibanez!
I tried this guitar in the shops and thought that it was great to play and had the playability that a soloist needs.
Great guitar (it is an Ibanez) but I would prefer just 2 humbuckers and a coil tap for both.
Very low action, great output from the pickups, super fast thin neck, stays in tune and sounds great. This guitar is a great deal for the money. I like it better than my American Standard Strat for its tone and playability and it cost less than I paid for the Strat. I was disappointed by the fact that the Low Pro Edge Tremolo system does not allow for adjusting the action for individual strings, but as it is the bridge adjustment bolts suffice for adjusting the action. Players with very aggressive pick attack should take heed that a hard picking technique combined with the arrival set up action will produce fret buzz. I ended up having to raise the action a little and ease up on the pick attack for playing leads. Overall, I'm a better and more finessful player as a result. I've never sounded better than I do on this guitar.
I love everything about this guitar, plain and simple.
This guitar needs to come in more finishes. Like, almost a raindow of finishes...blue w/ blue headstock, green w/ green headstock, black w/ black, red w/ red. That'd be cool.
you dont have to blow 2 G's on a guitar for stuido qualityibanez makes good cheep stuff that can run with any of the big dogs ( this guitar for me rates the same as a parker guitar )
This is one of the best guitars that Ibanez makes for this price. A good buy.
This guitar is the best I've had. Its neck is kind of thin, which allows to play fast licks and solos. The appearance of this guitar is a lot better in real life than it is in the internet. This guitar is for both beginners and pros. If you have the money, get it!
This Ibanez is above all my favorite guitar when it comes to being loud and playing in a type of style like the guitar God STEVE VAI! This guitar has great pickups that give the player a great sound and long sustain. If it comes to buying a type of guitar like Vai's JEM7V 2002 that isnt as expensive, then i would have to say this is the one. out of all my other guitars like the american strat, the paul stanley silver tone, and the other gibsons that i have, i would have to say that this is my favorite when it comes to quality.
This guitar is a versatile guitar, and although it does not have the most impeccable features, it has enough to count as a really good guitar. I had played it a couple of times and fell in love, when I tried to order it I was told it was in back order, so I came to this site. The prestige neck is very easy to grasp and does not require a big grip. The sound and tone of the guitar is very good on any type of amp, and I absolutely love the tremolo bar, it gives a great range to wail with. All in all you have to try it to believe me, but make sure that you don't get too hooked.
