OVERVIEW

An affordable rocker with a mahogany body, Wizard neck and fixed bridge.

The RG is the most recognizable and distinctive guitar in the Ibanez line. Three decades of metal have forged this high-performance machine, honing it for both speed and strength. This RG421 model has a mahogany body and a Wizard III neck shape that offers maximum comfort and speed. Its fingerboard is rosewood with 24 jumbo frets for bigger note bends and it also comes with dual Ibanez INF pickups that are wired to a 5-way switch for a variety of coil combinations and sounds. A fixed bridge and Cosmo black hardware complete the list of hard-rockin' appointments.

Wizard III Maple neck
Ibanez's thin, flat, and fast, yet strong and sturdy, Wizard neck offers unlimited playability for demanding players, and features a two-octave 24-fret fretboard for wide tonal range.

Quantum pickups
The Quantum pickups provide accelerated bass response for exceptionally fast tracking of high-speed staccato riffing with crushing mid range and precise high-end articulation.

I want to make sure you know that the guitar is darker than the picture here shows.... The red is much darker and the ends of the guitar are almost blackish red...

Still very very nice, but you are not getting a bright red guitar!

      Very nice though!

Comments about Ibanez RG421 Electric Guitar:

I needed a budget guitar and boy, does Ibanez deliver as usual. Feels comfortable, no set up required, string thru provides rich sustain. Really, the best guitar I've found in this price range. I'm putting locking tuners and a DiMarzio Crunch Lab in and I can't wait to hear it roar. The only downside is intact the stock pickups, otherwise a great guitar especially for the small price. I'm happy I made this purchase as I needed to keep it cheap but didn't want junk and this is perfect. I'm pleased to find an instrument this cheap that can easily produce the aggressive music I write as well as rock, blues, jazz, progressive... I would highly recommend to any player novice to advanced that needed to keep a budget.

Comments about Ibanez RG421 Electric Guitar:

I bought this mainly for the Mahogany Body. At the price this is offered that is a good deal. Also, the neck is fantastic and so is the paint job. Its a real eye catcher for sure.

The pups are not bad, but I will be changing mine out for something with better tone. The action was off so if you don't know how to set one up you might want to pay a Luther to set it up. It was playable, the action was off a bit.

Its well worth the price for the body and neck alone. If you wanted to create a guitar this is the perfect one to buy for the body and neck, then you can add the pups and other upgrades you want to make this beauty really shine.

Comments about Ibanez RG421 Electric Guitar:

Made in Indonesia. They seem to be getting better. Body and neck seem to be quality wood but are not one solid piece. both are four pieces of wood. they are made nicely. nice finish. straight. nice fret work. pick ups sound great for stock. They are keepers for now. The hardware is solid Quality Ibanez. I think this is the best Ibanez for the money. I think that any less expensive Ibanez would be disappointing, Save your Money for this one. The mahogany oil body is awesome. you can feel every chord resonate in it. paint is not good! I would love to see a model like this with a bound neck and some fancier inlays. maybe a Jem Mahogany. Hello Ibanez?!I absolutely recommend this guitar. alternate tunings go easy.it came with decent strings and triple boxed.

Comments about Ibanez RG421 Electric Guitar:

I have this model with the Edge 3 tremolo and I have to say for the money you really cant beat these guitars! I bought mine condition 1 from MF and when I got it I made some minor adjustments to the tremolo and off I went. I did replace the bridge pick up with a Dimarzio Tone Zone, not that the pick ups were bad but I just wanted something with a bit more kick and tone. Keep up the work Ibanez and thank you MF!

Comments about Ibanez RG421 Electric Guitar:

These guitars are the perfect fix-em-up guitar. They come with decent tuners and hardware, are super easy to set up (no tremolo mess) and are basically designed to be customized. I would recommend ordering a set of pickups alongside this guitar and installing them before you do anything else, because the stock pickups are always poor. That's okay, though, because it gives you the perfect chance to really get the sound you're looking for.

The only thing I wish they'd have is a larger, easier to work with control cavity. I'll be breaking out the router on this one.
