Premium quality without paying a premium.

This RG Premium electric guitar, the RG920QMZ, stands astride quality and affordability with a foot (bout?) planted firmly in each camp by providing a combination of moderate price, superior quality, pro features, and excellent feel and finish. The RG Premium has an American basswood center and a quilted maple top while the Wizard Premium neck is given the Premium fret edge treatment for a fast, smooth feel. USA-made DiMarzio/Ibanez humbuckers provide volcanic toneage worthy of Krakatoa and Vesuvius. The Edge Zero II bridge with the ZPS3Fe spring system returns you to "zero" — center point — after each use of the tremolo arm that allows radical tremolo effects with flawless tuning accuracy.

    Basswood body
Basswood is a comparatively lightweight wood, which makes it very comfortable for extended playing. With a good balance of highs and lows, basswood is right in between alder and mahogany in sound character.

    Includes gig bag.

I have owned many Ibanez guitars over the years including one Prestige model. Th RG series feels and sounds the best for my more aggressive playing style. I purchase this guitar in the Liquid Inferno color. It is even brighter than it looks in the picture and takes a while to get used to but the finish and quilted woods used are insane. The finish rivals American made guitars costing 3 times as much.

Many guitars when they arrive require additional setup but when this guitar arrived, the frets, action and even intonation were all perfect. This guitar as stated is well suited for the musician who plays out a lot and needs a durable guitar that will not wear out quickly. The DiMarzio humbuckers offer the perfect combination of power and clarity even at full distorted levels. I wish I could get the same guitar with a H-S-H pickup trio but Ibanez is not offering these in the USA yet. I am so pleased with this model, that I am planning on purchasing a second one of these in the Black Ice finish in the near future.

I would greatly encourage anyone who is considering the purchase of a RG series guitar to save up a few more dollars and put it in this guitar. The old saying is "You get what you pay for" - In this case, you definately get that and more!
5 position pickup selector gives a variety of sounds. Edge Zero II bridge is the best on the market.
The finish is even better than expected. The frets were perfectly manicured. Even the action was flawless.
Prestige quility at a much lower price point.

Nice workmanship and the Edge II Zero tremelo may be the best in the business today. Light weight, so comfortable but poor "chug" ability because of the basswood body. Tone is tight, almost "brown" on the bridge pickup. 5 tonal varieties compared to usual 3 for a 2H guitar. Biggest issue is that string height can't be adjusted close enough to the fretboard, regardless of bridge/neck adjustment, without getting dead spots or buzz. For the money, it's good but falls short compared to a well-made U.S. Guitar in the details.

Comments about Ibanez RG920QMZ Premium Electric Guitar:

I researched the hell out of these guitars before I ordered one. I ordered it sight unseen and could not be happier with it. I got the red one and it is just gorgeous. I love Ibanez guitars and this is my favorite out of 6 that I have owned over 23 years of playing. The stock pups are just fine for me. Fretwork is flawless. If you like the RG's chances are you will love this guitar. I'm starting to sound like a paid spokesman or something here (which I'm not) so I'll shut up now. As a side note, the guitar arrived with a minor factory imperfection. I called Musicians Friend and another guitar arrived the next day! UNDER 24 hours! Excellent guitar, excellent customer service.

Love the guitar but shoddy frets cost me a lot to rectify. If you are lucky to get one with even frets, then you are on a winner.

I got this guitar in the mail a couple days ago and i cant put the thing down! The fret work is just amazing and it sounds great. This guitar feels and sounds A LOT like the John Petrucci Ibanez models. Only thing i dont like is the pick ups, going to be switching the stock ones with Dimarzio Crunch Lab/Liquifier. Happy Playing!

In a nutshell--Great looking guitar with great neck but fret buzz was a deal killer. Even after pro set up and heavier strings it still was a problem. Also, pickups too hot for warm clean sounds. To sell this as a jack of all trades working mans guitar is missleading. If all you play is high gain metal and you dont mind the stiff trem it might be good.

                      Awesome Guitar

Comments about Ibanez RG920QMZ Premium Electric Guitar:

This guitar blew away my expectations. I hate to say it but this may be better than my older prestige, I'm not kidding. The pickups are great, no need to replace them with other dimarzios. The finish is incredible reminds me of my prs 10 top. Alot of care went into shaping the fret edges, perfection. Definately worth the money and then some. The pickup selector switch is great too, being that it's 5 positions rather than 3, so much versatility.
All the additional new features are great and well thought out, like the sliding cover truss rod cover to the offset inntonation screws. Setup on this thing is a breeze with the zero trem bridge.

Amazing tone, sound and durability...must have!

                      By Brandon Bunch

                      from North Carolina

Comments about Ibanez RG920QMZ Premium Electric Guitar:

Overall: This guitar is amazing and I will more than likely be getting another one. It is just that great. The price/quality on this guitar is amazing as well. Once you play it, trust me, you will not want to stop!
First Impression: I got the Red Desert finish, and I must say it is beautiful. I found no flaws anethsetically and when the light hits the finish, it adds overall attitude to the guitar.

Hardware: This was the only thing I was dissapointed in, but because it was shipped, I should have checked for loose screws\bolts. The nut was loose and everytime I would divebomb it would click, which terrified me. But it was a simple fix, use a screwdriver. Another thing, the tuning nuts on the head were loose, simple fix: tighten them. After that its been solid ever since.

Playability: This guitar can be played lightning fast, or smooth as silk. Just get your tone toggle on the correct pickup and you can play anything from blues to metal.

Durability: I'm an avid fan of Steve Vai, and his songs really do test the durability of the tremolo system. I must say, the Edge II is one of THE sturdiest tremolos you can have. I removed the stop bar to have a floating tremolo and it still returns to perfect tuning after a divebomb or flutter type effects. I have beat the crap out of it; one time being so hard that I knock the volume knob loose(easy fix no problem, that was my fault) and it STILL play flawlessly. The Edge II easy setup for spring tension makes this SO easy for tremolo beginners like me. I love it and don't think I will ever buy another guitar without one.

Pickups: These Ibanez DiMarzzio pickups are amazing. From deep rich tones, to high treble, crystal clear tones, these pickups are just as diverse as the guitar itself.
