Best guitar for the price!

Comments about Ibanez RGA72TQM Electric Guitar:

Got this guitar for my sister. She just started playing. I play it whenever I'm too lazy to get one of my guitar out. Plays like a dream!!! Lower the action on it a little bit and you're good to go!. I wish it had a tone knob. but the EQ switch seems like a cut and dry version of it. The only thing this guitar lacks are good pickups....the neck pickup is VERY muddy. bridge pickup is crunchy. No need to change it for intermediate guitarist. Plays great!!! I wish I would've bought myself one. Just make sure you upgrade the pickups :) go enjoy it!

Great guitar all around.

Comments about Ibanez RGA72TQM Electric Guitar:

As my headline states, great guitar all around. The transparent grey is outstanding in looks, stands out and very smooth, the color fade comes out a bit brighter in person which is good. I tell you, I was excited though anxious when it came to the pics and receiving it, but once I first got it out and saw it in person, oh my, it blows your expectations. It's definitely beautiful.

Stays in tune well, like to the point where I had to buy another guitar(Ibanez ART90 in red, also a great guitar for a lower price if pickups are changed up) just to do drop D or tune down any because it goes RIGHT back to being in tune(great thing if you DO have another non-whammy guitar or purchase one as I did) haha. I bought the SD-Blackout pickups for this cause I thought I might of needed to swap the pickups out but this sounds crazy good, like I have a guitar with EMG's and this sounds like no different for being whichever they are(generic I think), couldn't even tell a difference. So I didn't have to, I saved em for my next guitar that I probably would(ART90). I love mainly rock/metal/screamo... And this handles all perfect, even if genre's other than that. Strong balanced tone. I consider this my perfect show off baby for sure ;)

I was very worried about it not having a tone knob, but with the chrome switch down as well as the other... There's no problem. Playing on it is fast and smooth with ease. It's the ultimate guitar when it comes to looks, sound, as well as the cool price.

I recommend the Digitech RP1000 effects pedal(or the one a step down) for max potential with sound and recording quality. I'm all about top notch and quality with distinct looks that attract, and this purchase was every bit apart of that and worth it. Hope you make the same choice as well =]

Thanks for reading.

Comments about Ibanez RGA72TQM Electric Guitar:

Very pleased here, with this particular model. No alterations are required. Ibanez has definitely spruced up its lutheiry over the past 5 years, and offers great value for the quality. I still like my Les Paul more, but a LP Standard (not the new hollow ones) can't be matched, in my opinion. Buy this one!
I bought this RGA72TQM to replace an RG that was stolen a long time ago. Price was an issue. I saw this instrument online, but this model was nowhere to be found on Ibanez' website. It is closest to the RGA72TQME, but it does not have EMGs and has only a volume control, no tone. It has IBZ-LZ active pickups, but the active circuit is only 3V (2 AAs). Uncertain what trem it has, being similar to Floyd Rose," but it is NOT an Edge Zero as displayed on website. The locking trem functions smoothly and returns to tune even with multiple and rapidly aggressive dives. The tone from this guitar is outstanding!
I use a Rocktron 2X12"" 160W Vendetta R combo", a BOSS ME70 effects unit through the effects circuit, piped with a BOSS DR660 drum machine. Alternately I use a Roland Cube 30W, so altogether so I can get just about any sound, volume, and effect I want with the setup. This model 6 string guitar has the inverse Ibanez wave logo inlays on the fretboard, not available in other RGAs. Transparent greyburst was my choice, which is handsome, and bound. Sculpted quilted maple on mahogany body.
Well engineered, but it has three specific limitations. First the pluses. The quality of materials, fit, finish, sound, and tonal range, which is excellent across the entire fretboard, is second to none. Seriously! It is in the same class as my Gibson Les Paul Standard Faded, which has superb sound. I have a Fender Custom Classic Stratocaster as well, which has its own purpose to me musically. The RGA is about 1/3 the price of the LP and 1/4 of the Strat, due to manufacture in Indonesia. The sculpted neck/ body joint is beautiful and extremely stable. It is a quality instrument.
People have long complained about RGs having muddy, cheap sound, which can be true. They come that way out of the box. But this instrument is capable of excellent sound and sustain, so it needs a great deal of initial attention. One of the problems with RG(A)s is that the setup requires patience and countless retunings and adjustments to pickup height/ string height/ intonation to get the desired sound combo of overdrive AND clean sound by dropping out from active state. Get batteries for your tuner, and get some feeler gauges. You'll need them. Also, the neck is fast, but the frets are flat. Not ideal for slide. XLs (9-42s) are all it takes, 10-46s (or higher) stress the neck too much. I tried. No go.
As described, well worth the money. If you're looking for a new instrument, it is halfway between MIM Fenders and USAs so far as price goes. Half the price of a Gibson LP Studio. Those are all good instruments for the money, especially MIM Strats/ Teles. I think this is a better buy, IF you study the engineering of guitars and set it up exactly the way you want. You'll probably have to back off the neck pickup. Sorry but a quick setup at the music store won't do. Actually, a Fender handbook will pretty much describe what you need to do, but you need to learn the metric equivalents, which is easy.

Comments about Ibanez RGA72TQM Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar after I played the same model in a guitar shop when I was visiting in California, mine has a different finish than that of the one pictured, anywho... this guitar is the best model that Ibanez currently makes, I've tried out alot of Ibanez's and even owned 2 or three in the past but none of them even come close to this model, In my opinion its better than the higher priced Jem's and Prestige models!Pros:Great 24 fret Neck Thru feel with low actionRock solid build and tuningAwesome toneCons:Volume knob is too close to the strings, I hit it while strumming and have to be more aware of it while playing. Some players like it that close but its a con for me...This Axe is flippin' heavy, It weighs more than my PRS! but I've noticed over the years that the best sounding guitars tend to be on the heavier side, nothing beats the 1, 2, 3 tone punch of a mahogany body, maple cap and maple neck!I'm not a floating trem guy I don't like all the parts involved with them although the one on this guitar seems pretty solid I don't think I'll have to much trouble with it over the years. I actually like the pickups on this guitar contrary to some of the other reviews. The finish is fairly decent I'm not a huge fan of figured maple but this ones okay. The finish around the binding area isn't great but then again I've never seen a good binding job on a production guitar at this price range.Overall I agree with the other reviewers here... This is hands down, the best guitar for the money. If I were a constantly working musician or a shredder, (I'm neither) this would be my goto axe. I think this guitar would be able to handle it all. Finally Ibanez has made a guitar that I can say I'm proud to own! It's about effin time! :)

The best cost/performance guitar.

Comments about Ibanez RGA72TQM Electric Guitar:

I live in Japan. So many guitars to choose from. I saw this in a store and tried it out. I couldn't believe it. This guitar should be worth a lot more. I already own a few nice guitars, but I had to have this one. It's made in Indonesia, but plays like a Prestige. I've been playing for 20 years and I know a good guitar when I play one. Need I say more?

I own it

Comments about Ibanez RGA72TQM Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar about a month ago and love it. Although it is lacking a little in pickup tone options, it more than makes up for it in playability. It has a strait through neck wich is one of the best feeling ones I've ever played on. For the price, this guitar cannot be topped.
