One of Ibanez's ultimate metal machines.
The Prestige RGD2127FX 7-String Electric Guitar is one of Ibanez's ultimate metal machines. It's precision made in Japan with prestige craftsmanship by Ibanez's finest luthiers. The demands of downtuning require a specifically designed responsiveness not found in normal guitars. To optimize for the rich, desirable thickness of tone that downtuning produces, Ibanez extended the neck by one inch to a 26.5" scale - longer than standard, yet not overly long. The lighting-fast Prestige Wizard HP neck is ultra-smooth, thin and strong, including KTS Titanium reinforcement and is still considered a fast neck for speed soloing. Extra-deep cutaways grant comfortable access to the neck's highest notes.
The RGD2127FX Prestige electric guitar comes equipped with custom-designed pickups for downtuning. These pickups are specially designed for capturing more low end by regenerating a wider tonal range. Instead of losing the low end, they output it with rich, harmonic tone. The V87 bridge humbucker uses alnico magnets to produce a rich harmonic tone with clarity in the low end. The V77 neck pickup's ceramic magnets produce a smooth and dynamic tone with warm midrange.
Besides lightening the weight of the body, this bold horn cut provides full, comfortable access to the higher frets. The taper of these horns greatly improves player comfort at the upper end up the fretboard. These beveled edges are another of the many innovations that have come out of Ibanez's relationships with their artists.
Designed for great looks and engineered to avoid the risk of coming off while you're playing. The non-slip functionality gives this collet knob accurate axis rotation and control for any player.

Comments about Ibanez RGD Prestige Series RGD2127FX 7-String Electric Guitar:
I've played guitar for approximately 12 years, and in that time have had the pleasure of playing many fine instruments. It may be a bold statement, but this is my favorite guitar out of any that I have ever owned or played. It's one of the most comfortable and ergonomic instruments, and is an absolute dream to play. Being a 7 string baritone, this is obviously more geared toward the technical and metal player, but it's able to take just about anything you're willing to throw at it while doing it major justice.
It's so refreshing to also see Ibanez doing some high end fixed bridge guitars. The Floyd is great and all, but it's definitely a serious pain to setup and maintain, so it's nice to see this guitar with a fixed setup. Guitar is highly recommended.
