Comments about Ibanez S7420QM 7-String Electric Guitar:

Great guitar, can't give it a 5 star rating because I don't like that the profile of the fret board doesn't match the bridge profile. Most if not all Ibanez guitars have a 430mm profile bridge while everything with few exceptions have a 400mm fret board. Besides that, I was able to set the action beyond low. Could go lower if I wanted to. The stock pickups are great, however lacking a little flare like the EMG's I'm used to. Over all for a entry level 7 string and more this guitar seems to be built to last and IMO feels better than most other 7's and 6's. Enjoy this guitar very much. Consider this up until now I've hated 7 strings, hated Ibanez, only played neck thru, and a HUGE ESP fan. This guitar feels better than my LTD M1000. Try this guitar, or RG7320, RG Premium, ect you won't be disappointed.

Comments about Ibanez S7420QM 7-String Electric Guitar:

Fantastic guitar! The transparent red burst is stunning, the neck is so fast and flat. The pickups sound amazing. I may even like them better than the EMG's in my ESP. The versatility of the coil tapping is great too.

The ZP bridge (which I had reservations about) actually functions wonderfully. No tuning problems. Dive bombs do well, and just an upward tug of the bar afterwards seems to snap everything right back into place.

Only cons are boring dot inlays, no binding anywhere, a bolt on neck (which is built so well it isnt really a con at all) and a volume knob that seems to be either on or off.

Very happy with my first 7 string!!!

Comments about Ibanez S7420QM 7-String Electric Guitar:

This is by far the best 7 string guitar made by Ibanez so far, I am a Pro guitarist and I own a few Prestige ones, since I tried the S7420 I got into the S model but the finishing touches on that one were quite simple but good (still a very good guitar though), in the S7420QM they improved the finishing quality and the fretboard looks and feel more like an RG1527 (maybe the newer S7420 has also changed with a darker rosewood look), tapped harmonics never fail and can even be achieved on the 24th fret without a struggle. The ZR tremolo is without doubt the best ever invention and the only one that stays in tune, also tuning the guitar takes as long as it does on a fixed bridge guitar, I am personally quite disappointed with Edge Zero trem as it is just a tiny bit better than the Edge Pro but no where near the ZR, Ibanez should change the trems on all their guitars and give up trying with the Flinstones style Floyd Rose edge system that is already out of date, friction cannot be avoided on those trems, ball bearing is the way forward. If you want a prestige feel for half the price then the S7420QM is the only one with a better tremolo than all the prestige ones. Ibanez should consider to ship these guitars with a kind of prestige case to make it a 10 out of 10.
