Check out the Ibanez SGT120NT SAGE SERIES Acoustic Guitar and you'll be amazed at the retro look and feel, inspired by the 1st Golden Age of Ibanez acoustic guitars. The shape of the headstock, body, pickguard, and bridge recall a time when things were just a bit more ornate and pride in craftsmanship was much easier to find.

The SGT120NT features a spruce top that not only sounds great now, but will continue to age and improve over time. The dreadnought body shape is particularly well-suited for making yourself heard in a group, but the tones are certainly sweet enough for it to stand on its own.

Check the drop-down menu to the right to select colors and/or other options.

    • Dreadnought body
    • Spruce top

To start off with, I'm going to tell you the good stuff, then the very, very few flaws in the guitar.

To start off with, The pictures do the guitar no justice... it looks amazing! (I got the natural version) For example, in the picture, it looked like the sades were going to be a glossy black but turned out to be a mahogany finish; it matches the guitar perfectly. It sounds really good for the price you pay. I compared it to my Fender CD-60 and the Sage sounds even a little better than it. (It also looks a lot better than the Fender)The guitar stays in tune for quite a good while, The tuners... they're alright I guess, they're kinda hard to tune with. But, then again I haven't tried to get them loostened up either.

      (Now for the few flaws)
The fret board looks kind of dull to be honest, and there was some glue around the frets. I helped out the fret board by using some lemon oil and eventually got rid of the residual glue.

The scratch plate was put on slightly crookedly, but it was barely noticable.
(mostly noticable around the sound hole) It wasn't the greatest craftmanship like they said it would be in the description.

There was a small scratch on the back (Most likely from shipping)

Other than that everything was perfect. It looks absolutley stunning! I get a great reaction from my friends every time I pull out my guitar. If you need something to jam on, practice with or play for church and/or family, this is your guitar! Just hook it up with some good strings and a bone saddle and you're completley 110% ready to go! My overall rating would have to be a 4.5

This guitar comes with an Ivorex saddle and mine had some poor quality strings on it. Ivorex is very light weight and tends to create an overly bright tone with little bass. I replaced the Ivorex saddle with a bone saddle, and installed some new Daddario strings. It made a big difference in the tone quality, noticeably richer with more sustain. Since it's a solid top, the tone will improve over time. I got the natural finish. The fit and finish are excellent and the tuners keep it in tune very well. A well built instrument and a decent guitar for the money.

Comments about Ibanez SGT120 Sage Series Acoustic Guitar:

I have completely fallen in love with this guitar. It is beautiful! (I got the natural finish) The action is really low and it is very easy to play. It looks a TON better than it does in the pictures on here. It seems like it wants to stay in tune forever. You can't beat it for the price. I've played more expensive guitars that were worse than this. My only complaint is that the fret board looked kinda dull... I fixed that with some lemon oil. Other than that it's great!

        Not worth it

Comments about Ibanez SGT120 Sage Series Acoustic Guitar:

I have owned this guitar for three years now and is worn out. When i had first purcahsed it, the guitar sounded "okay" and had some fret buzzing, but hey, you get what you paid for. The highs, mids, and lows were definitely not in balance and gave out a very muddy tone. The following years were the worst times this guitar has seen. The binding of the guitar began to warp and so did the neck. Even a setup would not help. After the three years of service this guitar had given, I had no choice but to throw it away. This guitar is is obviously for amatuar players just starting out. The only good thing about this guitar was the fretboard itself. It had never shown any signs of wear.

Dont buy unless you want to fight with the tuning. And dont care what color it is.

Comments about Ibanez SGT120 Sage Series Acoustic Guitar:

I was very unsatisfied with this guitar. I ordered the blue sunburst but when I received it I noticed the front was purple and the back was blue. Also Does not stay in tune well. Is a little difficult to play. And the tuners seem to skip certain tones as your tuning it. All in all, I would not recommend this guitar for people looking to purchase a value acoustic.
Standard features for an accoustic, but does come with a tool and a couple extra parts which is nice.
Not very good quality, does not stay in tune very well. I find myself tuning every time I play it and even in the middle of a song it goes out of tune.
Very inexpensive guitar, which is nice. But for the quality your getting its worth paying a little more for a better guitar.

        Really great for the price

        By Kerryokie

Comments about Ibanez SGT120 Sage Series Acoustic Guitar:

This is the first guitar I have owned in years. I played around some as a kid and teenager, learned some chords but had no lessons. It was on my bucket list to learn guitar. I purchased this one because it had good reviews as an entry level guitar and it had a brand name and also looked good. I have been very pleased with it. I had it set-up as recommended by my instructor who said "the action was a little high" Did not have to replace strings. The stock strings are really good. I have the red sunburst and it looks really sharp. This is a great first guitar. Don't let the price fool you

Comments about Ibanez SGT120 Sage Series Acoustic Guitar:

I bought this for my husband as a gift(he's just learning), and he thinks it's great. I'm sure it doesn't sound the same as a thousand dollar guitar, but for the price, it sounds good and looks nice. He hasn't even put new strings on it yet, so it will probably sound even better after he does that. It is one of the cheapest solid top guitars I could find, and it was definitely worth it.
