OVERVIEW

Professional features at affordable prices.

Check out the Ibanez SGT120NT SAGE SERIES Acoustic Guitar and you'll be amazed at the retro look and feel, inspired by the 1st Golden Age of Ibanez acoustic guitars. The shape of the headstock, body, pickguard, and bridge recall a time when things were just a bit more ornate and pride in craftsmanship was much easier to find.

The SGT120NT features a spruce top that not only sounds great now, but will continue to age and improve over time. The dreadnought body shape is particularly well-suited for making yourself heard in a group, but the tones are certainly sweet enough for it to stand on its own.

Check the drop-down menu to the right to select colors and/or other options.

I have completely fallen in love with this guitar. It is beautiful! (I got the natural finish) The action is really low and it is very easy to play. It looks a TON better than it does in the pictures on here. It seems like it wants to stay in tune forever. You can't beat it for the price. I've played more expensive guitars that were worse than this. My only complaint is that the fret board looked kinda dull... I fixed that with some lemon oil. Other than that it's great!

This guitar comes with an Ivorex saddle and mine had some poor quality strings on it. Ivorex is very light weight and tends to create an overly bright tone with little bass. I replaced the Ivorex saddle with a bone saddle, and installed some new Daddario strings. It made a big difference in the tone quality, noticeably richer with more sustain. Since it's a solid top, the tone will improve over time. I got the natural finish. The fit and finish are excellent and the tuners keep it in tune very well. A well built instrument and a decent guitar for the money.

Not worth it

Comments about Ibanez SGT120 Sage Series Acoustic Guitar:

I have owned this guitar for three years now and is worn out. When i had first purcahsed it, the guitar sounded "okay" and had some fret buzzing, but hey, you get what you paid for. The highs, mids, and lows were definitely not in balance and gave out a very muddy tone. The following years were the worst times this guitar has seen. The binding of the guitar began to warp and so did the neck. Even a setup would not help. After the three years of service this guitar had given, I had no choice but to throw it away. This guitar is is obviously for amatuar players just starting out. The only good thing about this guitar was the fretboard itself. It had never shown any signs of wear.

Dont buy unless you want to fight with the tuning. And dont care what color it is.

By Logan Branchfield

Comments about Ibanez SGT120 Sage Series Acoustic Guitar:

I was very unsatisfied with this guitar. I ordered the blue sunburst but when I received it I noticed the front was purple and the back was blue. Also Does not stay in tune well. Is a little difficult to play. And the tuners seem to skip certain tones as your tuning it. All in all, I would not recommend this guitar for people looking to purchase a value acoustic.
Standard features for an accoustic, but does come with a tool and a couple extra parts which is nice.
Not very good quality, does not stay in tune very well. I find myself tuning every time I play it and even in the middle of a song it goes out of tune.
Very inexpensive guitar, which is nice. But for the quality your getting its worth paying a little more for a better guitar.

Comments about Ibanez SGT120 Sage Series Acoustic Guitar:

I bought this for my husband as a gift(he's just learning), and he thinks it's great. I'm sure it doesn't sound the same as a thousand dollar guitar, but for the price, it sounds good and looks nice. He hasn't even put new strings on it yet, so it will probably sound even better after he does that. It is one of the cheapest solid top guitars I could find, and it was definitely worth it.

Comments about Ibanez SGT120 Sage Series Acoustic Guitar:

This is the first guitar I have owned in years. I played around some as a kid and teenager, learned some chords but had no lessons. It was on my bucket list to learn guitar. I purchased this one because it had good reviews as an entry level guitar and it had a brand name and also looked good. I have been very pleased with it. I had it set-up as recommended by my instructor who said "the action was a little high" Did not have to replace strings. The stock strings are really good. I have the red sunburst and it looks really sharp. This is a great first guitar. Don't let the price fool you

Comments about Ibanez SGT120 Sage Series Acoustic Guitar:

To start off with, I'm going to tell you the good stuff, then the very, very few flaws in the guitar.

To start off with, The pictures do the guitar no justice... it looks amazing! (I got the natural version) For example, in the picture, it looked like the sades were going to be a glossy black but turned out to be a mahogany finish; it matches the guitar perfectly. It sounds really good for the price you pay. I compared it to my Fender CD-60 and the Sage sounds even a little better than it. (It also looks a lot better than the Fender)The guitar stays in tune for quite a good while, The tuners... they're alright I guess, they're kinda hard to tune with. But, then again I haven't tried to get them loostened up either.

(Now for the few flaws)
The fret board looks kind of dull to be honest, and there was some glue around the frets. I helped out the fret board by using some lemon oil and eventually got rid of the residual glue.

The scratch plate was put on slightly crookedly, but it was barely noticable.
(mostly noticable around the sound hole) It wasn't the greatest craftmanship like they said it would be in the description.

There was a small scratch on the back (Most likely from shipping)

Other than that everything was perfect. It looks absolutley stunning! I get a great reaction from my friends every time I pull out my guitar. If you need something to jam on, practice with or play for church and/or family, this is your guitar! Just hook it up with some good strings and a bone saddle and you're completley 110% ready to go! My overall rating would have to be a 4.5

Comments about Ibanez SGT120 Sage Series Acoustic Guitar:

If only I saw this guitar sooner! It has great tone, looks, and plays like butter. I originally went for a Washburn D10S, which I thought was alright... not in love with it though. I came across this when a student brought it in and WOW. Great value. This is a must have guitar for those with their budgets in mind.

Comments about Ibanez SGT120 Sage Series Acoustic Guitar:

For the price, a great guitar. I do own a Takamine and it is better but the difference after the Ibanez aged has decreased. The Ibanez closed the gap. Just switch up the strings and you're good to go!

Comments about Ibanez SGT120 Sage Series Acoustic Guitar:

this guitar was so much better than expected , i thought i was getting a crap starter cause its all i could afford, but its so much more. the tone of this guitar, is incredible. i got it in the red/ black, the pic doesnt do it justice, it is so beutiful. the neck is a bit slim for my taste. i generally like a big thick 50's gibson neck though, so its probably just me. overall: 4.8/5

Love this guitar. When I bought it I took it to be "set up". Was told it only needed softer strings since I am just starting out. Sounds great compared to other guitars in this price range. Feels good and looks great. Stays in tune. It's amazing. I love musicians friend too! Such a great website and customer service!!

        Great Acoustic

        By Sarah

        from Minersville, Pa

Comments about Ibanez SGT120 Sage Series Acoustic Guitar:

This acoustic has a very nice sound. The sound isn't very deep and rich, which is good in some people?s cases. The only downfall with this acoustic is that if you buy the black its glossy. This is very nice. But it gets scratched VERY easily. I'm pretty sure the natural doesn't scratch easily because it doesn't have a plastic type coating, that's glossy and prone to scratching. I'm not sure about the red and blue. A good thing about this guitar is: cheap price, and great sound.

Comments about Ibanez SGT120 Sage Series Acoustic Guitar:

I bought this guitar a few months back off this site. It's a beautiful guitar with a very versatile sound. I've played various acoustic guitars and this is by far the best guitar for the best value. One thing I've noticed is that one of the tuners is getting sticky, but that's the only problem. Awesome Buy.

Comments about Ibanez SGT120 Sage Series Acoustic Guitar:

I've had this guitar for just about a year. I mainly got it to start an acoustic project, which happend. This guitar has it all. Only two things I can complain about were, the tuning keys get a little loose, not a hard fix, and the low E spot on the bridge had a big groove in it, another easy fix. This guitar has been all over the place. I take it everywhere! I definately recommend it for sure. You won't be dissappointed. It sounds great, feels great, and the most important, plays great!

Comments about Ibanez SGT120 Sage Series Acoustic Guitar:

I needed an inexpensive guitar to take on trips and record with. I dont need fancy inlays and such. Just a guitar with good sound, projection and quality construction. The SGT120NT is exactly what I was looking for. I got the natural finish. The guitar has very good low and top end sound. It compares well with guitars that cost much more. Certainly not a Martin or Taylor but a very good compromise. The construction is very solid and it stays in tune. The quality diecast tuners are unusual in the price range and have a good gear ratio for precise tuning. The bridge seems to be very well made and installed. The nut design is rather curious (different) and appears to be plastic. The intonation appears to be right on, although I havent checked it with an electronic tuner yet.The fit is very good and the finish is about average. The pick guard has a flaw in it and the binding is slightly wayvy in places if you look very carefully. The neck has a dual adjustment truss rod and appears to be straight. I get a slight buzz on the A string about half way up the neck. I give it a while to settle in and then send it out for some setup if the problem persists. The dry high altitude air in Colorado in the winter makes a low action setup difficult to maintain on any guitar at first. It will need to settle in a little. This isnt a fancy showpiece, but it sounds and plays great.
