Rock-solid tremolo features, superb tonewoods, and super-versatile pickup modes.

The Ibanez SV5470 Electric Guitar is a metal-minded beast. 24 frets of wicked-fast neck, SynchroniZR bridge with ZPS-FX spring system, and an advanced tonal versatility give this SV guitar an edge over most guitars in its class. Made in Japan by Ibanez's best craftsmen.

Heavy mahogany tone without the heavy mahogany weight. Thin around the edges for comfort, fat around the pickups and bridge for tone. Features True Duo pickups with a push/pull volume knob for HSH or Triple Single pickups mode selection.

5-piece neck with Prestige finishing for increased playing comfort, Gotoh precision tuning machine.

The SynchroniZR (Zero Resistance) bridge with the ZPS-FX spring system returns you to "zero" — center point — after each use of the tremolo arm, even in the case of string breakage! No more wondering if you're back in tune or worse, knowing you're not! One more way the Ibanez SV5470 guitar gives you more dive-bombing freedom with less hassle.

    Really Ibanez?

Comments about Ibanez SV5470 Electric Guitar:

So remember that sweet little promise of the tremelo down only mode? It's not an "option", it's what you're stuck with. There is no pulling up. In it's defense it had nice sustain, however that was quickly overturned by the fact the pickups give the strings a warble effect no matter how you've set them. Oh and the ZPS? Not there. Two springs. That's it. It also tickled my fancy that no matter the action the open strings buzzed; tried a thicker string gauge: nothing helped. Great nut work on the headstock ibanez! And the tuning stability is relatively laughable as well, there's a reason locking trems have great tuning, and this model failed to boast it's "simplistic" design. Luckily I ordered an SV and S prestige at the dealer I ordered from so I could choose.

    Nice Guitar

Comments about Ibanez SV5470 Electric Guitar:

I played this guitar in Lansing Michigan while on vacation. Needless to say I fell in love at first feel. The neck is so sweet and it plays like a dream. I had fun just running up and down the neck just to see what it was able to do. Once you use this new trim system you will never go back to a floating trim. It may not let you pull as high but believe me when I say you will not care. No locking nuts to get in your way on the neck at the head stock. No worries about having to stop and take a break during a set to change out a string because you broke one getting crazy with the whammy bar. It will stay in tune and let you finish the whole set if you choose to. The body is perfect. I have had two back surgeries and I can play this guitar as long as I want and still feel good. The INFs pic ups are good but not great. They will give you that strat sound but not as sharp. I will change the middle pic up out with a noiseless one from fender to get that spank I like. A trained ear will hear the differences. The bridge pic up will sound full but not as beefy or as fat as you might want if you are used to getting that fat LP sound. You may want to go to a fatter sound pic up like a 59 or 57 for that great LP sound we all know and love, but over all it still is a very good sounding pic up and with the amp set right and the sound man doing his job at the board you should not have a bit of trouble playing any thing you want to play with this guitar. Just my opinion but I feel that putting EMGs in this guitar would be a mistake. I had an RG for over ten years and played it until I wore down the frets so much that I had to retire it, so I love Ibanez guitars and this is the best feeling and best playing one you will find at this price. It is worth the money and if your on the fence about this and a strat then go with this because the strat just can't compete with the neck on the Ibanez. I can't say enough about this guitar. The blue one is my favorite but they all play the same no matter the looks. I played this guitar every day for a week while on vacation and will buy it as soon as I have the money saved up which will be very very soon.

    not as versatile as expected

Comments about Ibanez SV5470 Electric Guitar:

Love the body, neck, and fancy hardware (very cool that the tuning heads cut the strings for you). Disappointed in the sound. Great note articulation but no bottom end or warmth. More like a hot Strat blended with a Tele. If only playing lead, you may be fine, but I had to change pickups to get the fat/meaty rhythm sounds I needed.I added an Air Norton(neck), True Velvet, and Air Zone(bridge) and now have a good blend from a beefy Les Paul "mahogany" sound to a thin Strat snap. FYI: Schaller makes a "ruthenium" strap lock (#449) that matches the dark hardware. You'll probably have to special order it. Use a #8 x 1" wood screw and shave the head down to fit in the button.

    Masterpiece!

Comments about Ibanez SV5470 Electric Guitar:

This is an awesome guitar. All of its features are the best even down to the case. Fast neck, thin body, detailed trim. No picture does it justice, the finish is even more beautiful in person and the grain is gorgeous and more defined. I love the auto trim tuners and the bridge design exceeds all bridges to date. The pick-ups are amazing with the five selector switch plus the coil tap knob that makes sound options far reaching and crisp with excellent harmonics and tone. I can go on all day with this. I've owned many Ibanez guitars so I'm a die hard fan and glad to be one of the first to own it. Rock on!

    Vintage Shredder

Comments about Ibanez SV5470 Electric Guitar:

The SV5470F is one of the best guitar's I've played. I was initially tossing up between the SV5470 and a Fender American Deluxe HSS Stratocaster, however I choose the SV because of its slick S Prestige Neck and true duo pick up features. The true duo blast pick ups by ibanez are a real bonus. They really sound as if they are single coils, think of something like Fender SCN pick ups when on single coil mode. The coil toggle switch is on the volume knob, rather than the tone knob in most guitars, making it easier to switch while playing. The pick ups are nice, not unbelievably great but I like them a lot. The bridge pick up is pretty hot and the neck pick up helps you get those beefy bluesy tones. The pick ups in single coil mode sound glassy and relatively thin, like what a single coil pick up sounds like, though you might not get as much punch as an original strat, but it gets the job done and might I add, it does a pretty good job too. This adds to the guitar's overall versatility.I play Metal, rock and blues, two ends of a wide spectrum of styles, and this guitar pulls both off just fine. The neck is slick and slim, like a lot of the Ibanez guitars, they take pride in their necks, and for good reasons, its fast and easy to play. Now one of the main features of this guitar is its SyncroniZR tremolo. It feels like it floats, and yet its not an Floating tremolo. The Auto trim tuners help it to stay in tune well, I've only had to tune this guitar a handful of times after giving it some Joe Satriani-like abbuse. You can raise the note, around two semitones up, but not much as its not a floyd. The colour and finish is absolutely beautiful, when I laid my eyes on it for the first time, it was like love at first sight. I own a Dark Sunset Burst one, however the Natural blue colour is beautiful as well. To address sustain issues on this guitar, I felt that the sustain was a bit on the weak side for a mahogany guitar around 12th fret and below. However it doesn't bother me much as I normally play rhythm lower down on the neck. All in all, great guitar, only issue I had with it, was the price, which is always an issue anyway. If it were to get lost, I would definitely buy it again. For someone who wants an axe with wide sonic capabilities and versatility, this is a must!!
