Just got my new baby yesterday, and my anxious anticipation was certainly justified. The reviews alone prompted me to take a chance, and I'm glad I did. I've never seen such a value. It has just about everything I could've asked for: solid playability, versatility and stunning good looks. It's true, the pics online don't do it justice. The blackberry sunburst under a thick clearcoat is like a luscious red wine. So sexy! With the abalone binding, chrome hardware and pearloid inlays (even abalone dot markers on the side of the neck?!?) it's elegance demands attention. Minor flaw where the body binding meets the neck...whatever! Perfectly fast neck, well balanced pups (though I may swap to higher cap pots as was suggested by another reviewer for slightly higher output). It simply has it all. What else can I say? This is my dream girl in guitar form. All around, Real...Nice!
I have had this guitar about 7 months now and it is amazing i love the sound i put some slinky top heavy bottoms on this beast and put her in drop C and i am extremely happy with clean distortion i can get out of this guitar
I can't really say enough about it. I just got it this past week and played two out of town shows with it this weekend and it handled everything perfectly especially the low tunings. The neck has a great feel and the action is perfect. The pickups are versatile but the neck pickup could be more crisp (still good though). Great guitar especially for the price. I would have paid more.
I have been playing guitar for a while now, and this is by far, the best guitar I have ever played. The sound is amazing..plays very well under distortion, and also makes a nice crisp sound without it. I love doing solos, and i can get the sound that I've always wanted and it sounds like it has all the effects of a live show. It is just flat out an amazing guitar. Defianetely worth the price, and on top of it all, has an awesome look and finish to it.
I play this guitar for several hours a day, 6 days a week. Had it almost a year, and never a single issues. I'm hard on it. Great response at all frequencies. Pickups are the tiniest bit muddy. The middle pickup selector goes a little quiet. That is the only problem with this guitar. It's also insanely fast.
Amazing!First of which, it sounds amazing, I have a roland amp (not the best amp) but man, the guitar makes my amp look good! Pretty easy to slide and bend and plays like every type of music you can think of! Aside from the crystal clear sound and amazing neck, the flamed top adds that extra finishing touch. Buy one if you are looking for a great guitar!
I own mine for 5 months, and no regrets at all, I love to play everything, from john mayer to impending doom, and I've never got disappointed this far, the sustain is endless, and the pickups are fantastic, you can get a wonderful clean sound if you don't want to use it with distortion, let's talk about how it looks for a minute, it's a total beauty! a very piece of art, I mean, for that price range, I think this guitar should cost much more only for how it looks, bottom line: great playability, great sustain and tone no matter what tone you're looking for, for sure you'll get it with this baby, best guitar for ANY kind of guitarist.
I have one of these as my second guitar. It has a great tone and is fun to play, much lighter than my other guitar. Great for detuning, holds drop C, B very well. I take it out of the case and it's still in tune. Fast neck, beautiful finish... good guitar, although I find it to be priced a little high.
Ever since I had my epiphone les paul standard, I've been shopping for a second guitar. I've tried out a few and I was impressed with some of the guitars I played, but I saw this guitar, the Ibanez SZ720FM. I plugged it into a Line 6 spider 3 and it sounded awesome, the tone is great, the neck is fast and the color of the guitar looks much better in person. I would recommend this guitar to any one because this definitely a first choice.
