Stole it for two hundred. It's light, 3/4 length and thin. Perfect for a travel guitar. Sounds good by itself and even better plugged in.

Comments about Ibanez Talman Double Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this one because I have an aversion to the thick plastic coating everything comes with these days. I have a TM50 NT that I really like for the slim neck and small body but it doesn't resonate well unless plugged in. The TM50 joins the body at the 16th fret and so you can reach higher frets easily. This TCY74 joins at the 12th fret but still has the 25.5" scale because they moved the bridge down, so you can reach the 1st fret next to the nut in approx. 2" less length. I love this little guitar, man does it ring out. So then I measured and discovered the one I received has a body roughly 1/2 inch deeper than the TCM50 so that helps boost the sound. The action was a little high on the bridge so when I replaced the strings I took the saddle out and removed the two shims from under the pickup and got the action perfect with no truss adjustment at all. Both of the talmans I have came with an extra saddle, two extra saddle shims and a truss wrench, which I didn't get with more expensive instruments I've purchased. I really, really like this guitar. I'm tempted to buy another one in case they stop making them when I wear this one out. Course everyone has their own tastes, but I just love this one. Sweet, sweet, sweet. Can't put it down.

                  pleasantly surprised

Comments about Ibanez Talman Double Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

                  1st: It's small and light. This is a full size (25 1/2") in a 3/4 length size.
2nd: It has a very warm (full spectrum) sound due to the Mahogany construction. And amplified it has a PAF sound.
3rd: As stated, this is a great guitar for an electric players transition (although I am an acoustic player, 40+ years, my electric friends love this guitar)
4th: I've paired this with a Gator 3/4 gig bag for a lightweight travelling kit.
5th: This is a niche guitar. How wide that niche is depends on the players imagination and use.

Comments about Ibanez Talman Double Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Just bought this great little guitar. Very impressed so far. Have been playing for one year or so. This has been my favorite so far. Small body if you like to sit and pick like i do. Has has a nice tone. Not too bright, and not subdued.
Very nice action and playability. I had the action lowered a bit already which helps.

The volume and tone button are hidden inside the body which is a nice clean look, but hard to find and use at first. But not a big issue. Just got it today and i figured it out.

Nicest sounding guitar i have ever played in this price range. I like it better than my Big Baby Taylor i think.
