The first affordable Xiphos model with a bolt-on neck and double-locking tremolo.

The Ibanez XP300 Xiphos Electric Guitar has a double-cutaway mahogany body for warm, dark tone. The guitar's 3-piece maple neck sports a Wizard II profile for fast and effortless shredding. Its bound rosewood fretboard is fitted with 24 jumbo frets.

The Xiphos' low-profile Edge III double-locking bridge stands up to serious abuse without losing pitch. Ibanez Infinity pickups offer more bite and chunk with balanced string output. A 5-way switch delivers wide tonal variety.

Aesthetic touches include a reversed headstock, deeply beveled edges, dot fingerboard inlays, black hardware, and an awesome iron pewter finish.

    Infinity humbucking pickups
The humbucking ceramic Infinity 3 neck pickup provides dynamic sound for chording and rhythm. The humbucking Infinity 4 pickup in the bridge position is equipped with an alnico magnet and has a brilliant tone for lead work that is warm and generates good harmonics.

    Edge III tremolo system
The Edge III tremolo on the Ibanez Xiphos XP300 has lower profile tuners for better palm comfort. It provides strength and extraordinary tuning stability even under the most demanding playing conditions. The double-locking Edge III bridge allows for the most radical tremolo effects ever, as well as for total tuning stability.

Comments about Ibanez XP300 Xiphos Electric Guitar:

Well first off, i ordered this guitar, which is not something i usually do. Most times buying a guitar is like buying a couch. You want to know how it feels, the quality, what it's made it of, how comfortable it is, etc. I took a chance, asked for this guitar as a Christmas present last year. Extremely happy with it, as i usually am so with Ibanez products so far. First thing that stands out about this guitar, is obviously the body. Which in no way to me is awkward or uncomfortable. Easy to play both sitting and standing. The overall look of the guitar is amazing. Do wish they had more options finish wise, but it is a beautiful guitar. I'd like to say it's best use is for heavier music. I play mostly heavy metal, which makes this an ideal instrument for me. I didn't make any adjustments to mine other than recently putting new strings on it. The initial set up worked perfectly for me. The pick ups to me are awesome, I can get a wide range of use and sound of em. And there is a noticeable difference, i've picked up some guitars and not heard much difference when switching pick ups. I've never played a gig with it, but i've seen some bands use the same guitar, and i'd assume it makes for a good live performance instrument. Not only is it appealing, it plays very easily and smoothly, very easy access to the lower frets. I have recorded songs with it, and i haven't had any trouble there. Sounds good, and clear, at least for recording through analog equipment. This is my first review, so i hope this helps, but truly the best way to ever find out you like a guitar is to play it yourself. But definitely worth checking out!

      Great Guitar for the price

Comments about Ibanez XP300 Xiphos Electric Guitar:

When I first saw this guitar of course the body caught my eye. I mainly play Dean Guitar's (Specifically the Dimebag Darrell Series) I like the differen't body shape. At first I wasn't sure about the Edge III tremolo. A lot of people said that it dosen't stay in tune very well but I had no problems with it. The pickups are awesome on it. I had this for about 2 years before I slapped in some EMG Pickups. I also pulled off an old Floyd Rose off of another guitar and put it on it. But it was just so I could do better divebombs with it. But I had no problem with standard pickups or the Edge III Tremolo that came inside of it. I suggested this guitar to many people and I am planning on buying the Chameleon version of this guitar.

      AWESOME!!!

Comments about Ibanez XP300 Xiphos Electric Guitar:

I just got this around a week ago and I love it, its great. The pickups are really good despite most people saying they were bad. The reason I gave the features a 4.5 is because it didnt come with a whammy bar. Its ok since the one from my PRS fits it. The Edge III stays in tune pretty well and the body is really comfortable to play while sitting or standing.

Comments about Ibanez XP300 Xiphos Electric Guitar:

Just ordered this guitar for my 14 son for his second guitar along with a Jackson C.O.W. for myself.Immediately had my local music shop put in some Seymour Duncan pickups. But other than that great neck, quality construction, and a great price on a very good guitar for a budding shredder.

Great Guitar, with a minor dislike

Comments about Ibanez XP300 Xiphos Electric Guitar:

The guitar is awsome. The shape looks very cool, the picks sound great with my line 6 15 watt, the neck feels aswome to play with and to play fast, bridge works great without going out tune. There is only one thing i dont like about it, I dont know if its the strap but if i let it just hand on my shoulder the guitar tilts downward cuz apparntly the neck and head make the guitar balance so its horizontal, therefore it feels like i holding it up half the time than just playing which i think sucks espiacially with the solos. Besides that everything else is great!
