This is a great guitar...but it is so outrageously over priced. It is literally a charvel socal with jackson on the headstock and sold for more money. The charvel has the same quarter sawn 12-16 compound radius neck, the same body and almost near identical hardware. If you're Adrians biggest fan then this is a great guitar, but if you're on the hunt for a super strat you can buy a USA charvel socal in polar white for less, change the pickguard, put those pickups in and you would have the same guitar.

I am a Les Paul player, but thought I should branch out. This arrived, and I was pleased with the quality and workmanship of the guitar. Everything is put together nicely and it sounds great. The ebony fretboard and jumbo frets make this thing as smooth as silk. Just two things to consider as far as personal preferences go...the neck is super thin, thinner than an Ibanez. Also, to adjust the truss rod you have to remove the neck. If those don't matter to you, you will love this guitar.

A visit to the Jackson website showed me something that I recently thought only wishful thinking, an Adrian Smith signature guitar. This guitar costs a few dollars but is worth every penny. The neck was a little thicker than I was expecting but that's just a minor set back. The overall playability and tonal output are amazing. Although the one I own is the maple fretboard and black pickguard model I'm sure the ebony fretboard model is just as good.

I've played Jacksons in the store many times and have been unimpressed, but this one is an extremely good build with perfect tone and sustain. The pickup choice is just right to give you a huge range of style, and the fretboard is awesome. The body is angled perfectly so the floyd sits on top with very clean simple routing but with all the flexibility you'd expect. I putting away the Strat and Les Paul for a while...
