Comments about Jackson JS Series King V JS32 Electric Guitar:
I've been playing over 20 years, all different styles. I also apprenticed with an excellent luthier. I do all my own setups and fret work. I bought a Kramer pacer around Christmas last year, and it was a huge disappointment. I was looking for something with dual humbuckers, low action, and a Floyd type trem. It has decent pickups, the Floyd is not recessed and doesn't hold tune, and I can't get the action low enough. I'm going to have to shim the neck and do a fret mill/re crown before I'm happy with the action. I also believe a new genuine Floyd will be required for it to hold tune. Huge p.i.t.a. for a new guitar. This Jackson guitar is amazing for the price. Set up was great out of the box. Super low action with no buzz, the Floyd works like it should, the neck is fast and comfortable, and the guitar looks mean and metal too. I love the army green matte finish. The pickups are run of the mill and decent, but I use SD invaders in my main guitars, and will be ordering one to replace the stock bridge pup. The Floyd feels a little cheap, but it works perfectly. If you replaced the pups, and dropped in a genuine Floyd, this thing would be absolutely amazing. I say go for it!
