This guitar looks beautiful. The Natural wood finish makes it stand out but not look flashy. The pickups are good but not great. The bridge pickup is my least favorite but only because of personal preferance. It has 24 frets(all of which are easily accesible) for a variety of soloing.
Everything is great about the quality except that when you use the whammy bar, the guitar goes out've tune. Also the volume knob falls of from time to time. Otherwise, it is awesome.
I tried other cheap guitars at the store, and this one is the best. Other jacksons did not sound right but this one did. Only a few dollars!!!!

Played a brand new model in the music store and the freaking volume knob fell off for God sake.
Played this thing today at a local music store and it was quite possibly the worst guitar I've ever played. The neckfelt hollow. The pickups were weak and the frets were bismal. To make matters worse the music store had it marked up about 100% over Musicians Friends price. Unbelievable. I have a few quitars ranging from entry level ESP LTDand Schecter models to high end ESP. If you're looking for a rocking entry level guitar take a look at and ESP LTD model or Schecter model. They are head and shoulders above anything Jackson offers in this price range.

Epic Sound For An Epic Price!

By Michelle East

from randleman, nc

I would recommend this to anyone who has experience in music! Its just fantastic.
Great. Nice body, excellent tremolo system, nice headstock, stays in tune. It is epic!
The quality of this product would have to be that it is just awesome. It feels right when playing. Don't worry about having to tune when you do some whammy action! Just whammy and go! Plus it will satisfy a metalheads dream!
The value is great for the price, I mean you got great tone, excellent whammy action, awesome feel when playing. It is awesome!

JS23-natural finish

By Robert Wilson

from North Carolina

Great looking guitar for the money, I got it natural and it is beautiful. This is my first guitar ever. I wanted a Jackson because I have read about their quality and it is an American company. I also wanted a good looking guitar in case I couldn't figure out how to play it then it would be a nice decoration on my wall.
I am just starting out learning to play but I can tell you the tremelo is aweful on this guitar. I rarely use it since the guitar almost always goes out of tune when I do.
for the money this is a great axe to learn on.

Great Starter guitar for shredders

By RoadiePlayer

from Louisiana

I bought this guitar to start learning to play. It is a very high quality guitar for the price. This guitar is the best value for someone to start playing with. The tone is about what to expect from a $500 guitar, but playing it is like that of one worth $1,800 more. It is a fantastic guitar.

Jackson JS23

By Jackson4life

This guitar was awesome right out of the box. Like others have said the pics do no justice for the natural beauty of this well priced guitar. I have had other guitars costing way more than this one, that dont compare to the sound quality and the finish of this JS23. I love playing it, it is smoooth and fast and has great low end growls to high end pitch.I was sceptical on buying a guitar this cheap ($199) with gig bag, but i have to say, money well spent. This thing will hang with the best of them, i know i had Jackson guitar befor that cost lots more. I cant believe they call this a starter guitar, you would never know it by playing it!

Good choice

By tunderalex

from Canada

I'm really proud to have bought this guitar. The neck is simply brilliant! The neck slides easily unlike most of the guitars. The picture are not the most beautiful, she's really beautiful to see for real. In the picture its sad because we do not see the forms of this beauty. I really love playing with this guitar!

Jackson JS23 Dinky

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

For the price of this guitar, it is definitely worth it. The Dinky style neck allows extreme playability. I was very impressed with the exceptional quality electronics. Good pots, clean wiring, no feedback in any pickup-position. There is no need to even change out any of the pickups either, they sound great. Treat this guitar nice because it will do the same to you.
