I bought this guitar not too long ago. I was pretty pleased with it right off the bat. I love the looks... It feels good. I lowered the action and it works good for anything from bar cording to shredding. Very similar to the Ibanez Wizard 2 neck. The string through design gives it more sustain than you would expect from this price range guitar. The cedar body gives it a good smooth tone on clean channels. The only down side is that its a little soft and easier to ding than other body woods. My only complaint with this guitar is the stock pickups. The sound ok and have great dynamics, but they just don't have much clarity on heavy distortion. The neck pickup is great for what it is intended, but I would recommend replacing the bridge pup. I put a Mity Mite Motherbuker in mine and the guitar came to life. I will keep and and enjoy playing it for a good while to come.

Well, I got this thing because I had been looking for a decent string-thru guitar, and it seemed like the best choice. Well, what I got was a huge disappointment.Firstly, the frets were done very poorly; I could see this right out of the box. Secondly, the pickups really don't sound good at all, unless all you ever play are metal rhythm riffs - they sound really dry with lead. The third, and most detrimental flaw is the neck of the guitar which looks as if it wasn't carved evenly. The top E has ridiculously high action, and if you even try to lower it a tad, the fret buzzing is unbearable.Mine is going to be sent back tomorrow, and I'm just going to go with a brand that I know won't shaft me - Ibanez.Jackson might have some nice high end models, but don't waste your money on this cheaply made garbage. Ibanez and ESP make far better guitars in this price range.

I would recommend this guitar for everyone that plays all metal. The compuod radius neck is super fast. The humbuckers are great for metal. I wouldnt trade this guitar for anyone other guitar in this price range. This guitar is definetly the bang for your buck.

Strummed acoustically is lively with sustain. No discernible flaws noted. Stays in tune after a session of string strangling. Frets nicely dressed. Good work on the nut. Inlays good. Pickups: as long as they are clear and crisp you can achieve any sound you want using all the toys. These pickups are clear and crisp. I got bunches of guitars, and I am sold on the compound radius neck. Chording, soloing, bends...and all the modern techniques made easier. Jumbo frets, the only way I roll. I got the tobacco burst, it's a nice flamey hunk of veneer. Lowered the bridge to my want upon receiving this guit and it plays great 6X24. Had it for several weeks now, and it is my current fav. Plays great, stable tuning, sounds good, and heck it looks good too. All this, with a compound radius neck for cheap... go for it Jack!

It is what it is.......

By jackson reviewer

from Mars

The body is made from cedar which makes it very light but still balanced. The guitar body is noticeable wider then Iam used to but it dosent effect playabilty. The tone is ok,on clean and distortion. In the end this guitar is not gonna leave a huge impression but it has everything you need to play at your best. Also the guitar comes with a soft case gig bag.

Awesome Guitar

By Stratattacker

from Panama City, FL

This guitar is very, VERY nice. It plays very well, and doesn't come out of tune. I did have to ajust the bridge some, but other than that, it was perfect. I got the tabacco burst finish, and it looks great. This guitar is 100% worth the price!

I played this at my local guitar shop the other day. There aren't words that describe how amazing it played. The thing i noticed right away was the tobacco burst finsh, it was stunning!!!!!When I started playing it I knew it would be my next guitar. My current guitar is or should i say "was" an Epiphone Les Paul. I'm sellin it. it's a piece of junk comparpared to this jackson. I'm gonna stick with jacksons now. The neck was so thin and it slid like butter. TRULY AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! fan of jackson for life!!!!!!!!!

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I picked this up in the guitar center,I loved the trans black finish so I plugged it into a line 6 spider 4 and it was great sounding. I played some lamb of god for the riffs and the action was really fast. Then I played some decapitated solos people started asking what guitar I was using because it sounded so good. So if you're pinched on cash buy this axe.
