OVERVIEW

If subtle and tasteful is your thing”you'd better move on.

The Jackson Kelly KE-3 Electric Guitar 2008 model has an edgy body design and shark fin inlays that make a bold statement with looks alone. But this rocker is a sonic flamethrower too. The 2008 Jackson KE3 Kelly guitar features genuine Seymour Duncan humbucker pickups: a Jazz SH2N at the neck and a JB TB4 at the bridge for lots of firepower and sustain. The JT580LP tremolo lets you bend and twist notes to the max while staying in tune.

Jackson's compound-radius fingerboard curves more dramatically at the nut for easy chording and flattens out as it approaches the neck joint for low-action bends without fretting out. With a more relaxed hand, you'll play better!

FEATURES
  • Unique alder body design
  • Bolt-on maple neck
  • Rosewood compound radius (14" to 16") fingerboard
  • Shark fin fretboard inlays
  • 24 jumbo frets
  • Seymour Duncan Jazz SH2N neck pickup
  • Seymour Duncan JB TB4 humbucker bridge pickup
  • 3-way toggle pickup selector

A solid guitar with lots of fancy bells and whistles for a relatively inexpensive price compared to some models.
This guitar is a piece of art. I've had it for close to a month and play it nearly every day. The tremolo does everything i want except the tremolo bar doesn't stay in one position. The action is nice and low, and I got the transparent blue finish and it's stunning. The inlays are pearl, and the tone is magnificent. The pickups are fantastic for any type of rock or metal. The bridge is great for rocking out some metallica, and the bridge is perfect for clean tones and soloing. The body is large, and heavy. When you stand and play, it likes to tilt forward but I don't see a problem with it. It stays in tune great as well, even when you wail on the tremolo for pantera. Theres only a volume knob, no tone pot, but I never used the tone knob anyways. Plus it's less wiring that i have to deal with.
A very solid build, wiring isn't messed up. No buzzing, pieces and parts stay where they belong. The very top locking nut is stripped out, but i got mine used so it's expected. Its also is a solid guitar alltogether. It's built well, though it is a bolt-on. The paint is durable and isn't likely to chip or come off.
Worth every penny.

Just bought the Jackson Pile o Skulls. It's cool! Looks kick A** and plays well> What else do you want in a guitar? I like the no-nonsense single volume and toggle switch. I mean, no one I know ever turns the tone down, why even have a tone knob! If I could have made any changes to it I would have put the toggle switch where the volume knob is and the volume knob where the toggle is. Why? because I like to switch back and forth during solo's. I used to play a strat and the toggle was in the perfect spot.

Jackson KE3

By Hardcore Kid

from Undisclosed

I have owned this guitar for a year now and all I can say about it is that it is a killer guitar. My Kelly wasn't a USA made one so it came with a Licenece under FR and Duncan Designed pick ups. It sounded ok with those pickups, but the FR annoyed me so bad, it kept on making my guitar go outta tune. So I decided to put on a Seymour Duncan TB-4 and a Sh-1 59's. They immediatly just turned the whole guitar into a heavy beast. It sounded really tight and grunty. It also has an incredibily fast neck, great for palying lead. Yea... Overall this is a good guitar the only thing that annoys me is the shape of it, but thats not the case.

Excellent!!

By Sprawls420

First off, My jackson is the older version of this same guitar that came out 2 years ago. I own the kelly and It is awsome. Mine is the same as pictured except for the finish and the pickups. This guitar is solid and CAN be played comfortably sitting down. The guiatr is weel balanced and feels good with a strap. The sustain is average, but this is a shred guiatar, not a Les Paul. The tremlo is solid and stays in tune. The pickups on mine look like invaders, but say duncan desighned on them instead of seymore duncan. I don't know why because I oredered directely through Jackson. Considereing the pickups are probable the same on the interior the sound pretty good. The're not really deep, but the mids and highs are good. Neck is stable and the neck is raw and fast. I wish this guiatr had a tone nob, but oh well. Overall a great buy for rock and alt. stuff, but not for blues or most modern metal.

Jackson KE3 Kellty Pro

By Ghettie M Lee

This is one amazing and under rated guitar. I bought my Jackson KE3 Kelly about a year ago and it has been the best musical instrument I have ever purchased. If you like to play hard rock or metal it has the best bridge pickup you could ask for. Its neck pickup is really nice for jazz style playing and rythom guitar. This guitar has amazing tone and THE FASTEST 24 FRET NECK you can find. It has a great feel to it with its FLoyd Rose Locking Tremelo. ALl around this guitar is better than any thousand dallar gibson I have played. ITS A GREAT GUITAR

A True Guitar!

By upnorthjammer

from soldotna AK

I bought this guitar because i was on a budget and really couldnt afford what i was looking for, but after playing for 5 minutes on this thing i knew i made a great choice and got a hell of a deal. The neck is super fast and great for soloing. The pickups sound awesome when you want a good clean sound and kick hard when you wanna get into some distorion. The paint looks amazing on it too. Overall this guitar is got to be the best axe for the price. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

all guitar

There is one adjustment I had to make. It was the strap button by the neck had to be moved to the upper right neckplate screw so it would balance the guitar. The guitar is neck heavy. But do this and it will be amazing. No more neck heavy. Perfect!

This is an excellent guitar. It feels great in your hands. The body style makes it perfect for someone that needs a slightly smaller guitar. The sound is beautiful. I recommend this to anyone, you will get your moneys worth.

WOW!

By Jackson Screams

from Seattle

This is the GUITAR! First off mines not brand new i got mine off of craigslist in crimson swirl with a EMG 81 in the bridge and EMG 85 in the neck. And this thing will make your face melt off. It can make any amp sound screaming good, the neck is one of best like playing on butter, the floyd rose is just pure awsome a must have! i realy like how it only have the volume knob on the front with the tone in the pot cavity i keep it taped up all the way up. also thats were i keep the battery for the EMG's. this is the prefect guitar for metal! and if you seriously want a heavy sound of of it use big gauge strings i use 11's.

Just a pointer...

If anyone does buy this, you don't have to replace the pickup to kill the noise. Ways to improve effectiveness are to attach aluminum foil to the back plate and attach it to one of the knobs with shielded wire. Also remove the back plate from the trem cavity and you get next to no noise, without impediments on the guitar's performance.
