OVERVIEW

The V-vibe in quintessential form.

The 2008 Jackson KVX10 King V is an electric guitar built with a high-quality alder body and a pair of Duncan Design humbucker pickups. The HB103 is a high-output ceramic bridge humbucker based on the Duncan Distortion. The HB102N is a hot Alnico neck pickup based on the Duncan Jazz. King V features a licensed Floyd Rose Low Profile tremolo, 24 jumbo frets, a bolt-on rock maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard, and chrome hardware. Controls include master volume, master tone, and 3-way pickup switch.

Jackson's compound-radius fingerboard curves more dramatically at the nut for easy chording and flattens out as it approaches the neck joint for low-action bends without fretting out. With a more relaxed hand, you'll play better!

I love this guitar! I have been playing for 2 years now. I started on a strat copy, moved my way up to a Epiphone Les Paul 100, which i also love, and just bought this guitar. I've only had it for one day and i love it already. The Floyd Rose never comes out of tune with extended wammy bar useage, unless they are new strings. I've never used a floating bridge assembly before, but i'm familiarizing myself with it now. It's a little hard to get into tune, but it's worth it. My only complaint is that it did NOT come with instructions; instead i got 2 allen wrenches and a socket. not bad, the internet is there for a reason. This is a great by for the money! even thought it's made in Japan and the pickups are made in Korea, it shreds like a beast!!! the neck is nice and fast, great for metal, etc, but i also enjoy the neck pickup for more clean tones etc. awesome axe!!! must have!!!!!

I played this guitar at the store a few weeks ago and was really let down. First, the "Seymour Designed" pickups were crap (I may have thought this because I had just been playing an ESP Eclipse, but these pickups were still terrible). The other main problem is where the input jack is. If you ever play sitting down, then you will have to get used to a chord jabbing into your leg, because the input jack is in the perfect place to be incredibly uncomfortable. However, if you play standing up then you are screwed because the guitar is so unbalanced that whenever you stand up the neck falls to the ground. It played really well though, with a pretty fast neck, but that didn't make up for the other problems at all.Overall a guitar that had potential, but Jackson managed to screw it up.

IT'S AMAZING

By Andrew Mercer

from Upper Island Cove, NFLD

It has a wicked sound for heavy metal, punk, thrash, and hardrock, so if your planning to play for grandma this guitar well blow her mind. Really the only bad things are is that it's really hard to play sitting down and that if you drop it your screwed.

Best KV for the price

I have played this guitar with the floyd rose trem and with a string thru. Let me start by saying that they are both astonishing! The neck is just so fast and the sharkfin inlay really brings it out. The Duncan Designed pick-ups are just as good as the real deal Seymours and dont let anyone tell you different. They are also super light-weight but still deliver a ballsy sound. Personally I liked the KV with the fixed bridge because it had more sustain, i had a place to rest my hand, and the finish was blue ghost flames which is my absolute favorite jackson finish. These guitars may have the rock/metal look to them, but you can play just about anything with them. I am trully impressed with the quality, the craftmanship, and just the guitar overall. Exellent buy for anyone!

It's Amazing....

Wow, I am just blown away by this guitar because it's so amazing. It may seem a bit pricy (for some people) but its great its durable, it looks great, the neck is thin and smooth so its great for shredding or fast chord progressions, the only setbacks are the stock pickups. If you're going to play live with this then change the pickups asap but if you just want to practice the pickups will do. If you do change the pickups then you will have a guitar you will never get rid of. Great guitar I highly recommend it.

A great guitar.

By KingV13

from New Hampshire

This guitar is a very well rounded companion. the only true drawbacks are a poorly placed imput jack that makes seated play a little more difficult. Though the pickups could be better (seymore duncans), that duncan designs are good sounding. A great guitar for the intermediate player.

b****in guitar

By burtonboy159

from Billings MT

Well ive played other jacksons and the warrior was top heavy and hard to play standing but good for sitting. But the rhodes was way hard to play sitting. I think the king is way more playable, sitting or standing. Plus its got a b****in trem. If u are gonna buy a jackson...buy the king

Fricken Love it

By B-rad-d2MKt

This V is the best one ive ever heard. The neck is perfectly small and fast, the pickups scream like no other, the floyd rose tremelo system is insane. The only problem i've found is that the paint scratches easily. Other than that this guitar is way better than the gibson V by far.

Long live the KING!

By Anonymous

I've had this guitar for about a year now, but I will never forget the first day I had it. I played until my already heavily calloused fingers from being a bass player for 4 years were raw. This thing is the smoothest and fastest playing guitar I have ever had the honor of playing. The trem is great. It Stays in tune extremely well. The pickups leave a little to be desired, the key word being little. Also, it just looks sweet. When you whip this thing out and start shredding, people know you mean business The only complaint that I would have is the input jack is in a rather inconvenient spot but I just picked up a right angle cord and problem solved. Over-all...awesome.

soooolid

By Mustaine'sPadawan

Got it recently and I am very happy with this guitar. Great bang for the buck. I can play it very comfortably sitting down, just get a cable that ends with an L on one side. Anyway the neck is damn fast and a very comfortable shape. The jumbo frets play like a charm, pickups are okay but I will probably get some actives, either Mustaine's Duncan or the classic 81/85 EMG. No problems with the LFR. The only thing that really bugs me is that the guitar is neck heavy but im getting used to that. This guitar is damn sexy. Quite possibly the best looking guitar ever made. I am proud to own one.

Worth The Money

By Allthegoodnamesweretaken

Recently purchased the King V, absolutly love it. The only draw backs I found are the input jack, which is poorly placed. Also the pick-ups are decent, but will be replaced before to long. Other than that, the guitar is a monster!

I purchased this guitar last month and let me tell you it's awesome! The shape is killer attractive and it has all the features a metal player would need. 24 frets, sharkfin inlay, 2 humbucker pickups, volume and tone switch, and the floyd rose tremolo... so what else would you need to play metal?!As for the cons.. you can't play it seated due to the input jack position. also the stock pickups are not really good. these are my only complains.

Very good!

By ???-zoFq8

I got this guitar not to long ago and it is very amazing. The pickups on this guitar are very nice and the action is great as well. The only things that are flawed with it are its very hard to play sitting down while plugged in. The body on the guitar also makes it harder to play from the 17 fret up only because its like right under the fretboard. (Not really a big deal)But those are the ONLY two extremely small flaws I have found so far (besides buying a whammy bar for it) . I give it two thumbs up. :D

The description of this guitar is of the old model. The new model has a basswood body, jackson double locking tremolo, but still has the duncan design pups.

Hell yea

Okay, I've been questing for another metal guitar with a Floyd or Floyd style tremelo.Duncan designed pickups aren't bad pickups but I will probably change them out for a higher out put pickup like maybe tossing a dimebucker in the bridge and a '59 in the neck.I like Jacksons because of the neck radius is always unbelievably thin and playable, but in the same token the other thing I don't like about them is the headstock joint there's no heel at the base of the headstock on the back of the neck so sliding power chords on the frets closer to the headstock gets tricky without sliding off. I prefer the King V shape to the Rohads shape the King V hangs more level

The Best Axe I ever picked up

By ThrashTillIdie

from Pomona, CA

This guitar is far the smoothest I have ever picked up. The sound of it is incredible, I remember when I first bought it I could not put it down until my hands were way too tired. My fingers were calloused and I do not regret getting this guitar. It was the best money I ever spent.

I dont really like heavy metal guitars, but this one is just amazing, the neck is sooooooo fast, and the action is perfect, and you cant beat that floyd rose. If am gonna play metal, then this would be the guitar for me.
