The Jackson 2008 DKMG Dinky is a rock and roll machine. Carved top alder body, maple neck, compound-radius bound rosewood fingerboard with shark-tooth inlays. EMG 81 and 85 pickups for crunchy rhythm sounds and punchy lead tones. Floyd Rose-licensed double-locking tremolo.
Jackson's compound-radius fingerboard curves more dramatically at the nut for easy chording and flattens out as it approaches the neck joint for low-action bends without fretting out. With a more relaxed hand, you'll play better!
With EMG pickups.
- Carved top alder body
- Maple neck
- Compound-radius bound rosewood fingerboard
- Shark-tooth fretboard inlays

This guitar rocks. Features are great, the only thing is Jackson chose to use one battery instead of two (EMG recommends running the pickups on 18 volts instead of 9, they say for better response. I soldered in a second battery and it vastly improves string definition and eliminates some of the low end over-saturation these pickups can have, without making the output unusable). For those that don't like the Tone of these pickups and prefer the sound of a more traditional set then reverse the setup, put the 85 at the bridge and the 81 at the neck (they take on the charateristic sound of a Gibson or Strat, the saturated rhythm and crisp lead sound with the "tinny" middle position, although personally I prefer the alternative tones that the EMG set offers as shipped, but for those that get this set and wish they behaved a little more traditionally, that is the fix) The Floyd Rose is awesome once set up right and has only been touched since to adjust for temp and humidity. I played this guitar in the music store against two Jackson Pro's (with the hum/single/single Duncans) three Strats and an odd assortment of other guitars and this one stood out hands down for overall tone and feel. In most cases a better than pro guitar for a semi-pro price. It is mass produced and if you take the covers off you can tell they didn't take some time (dust painted into the hidden surfaces instead of being blown off, then painted), but for looks the visible portions are flawless and whatever corners they did cut do not affect the tone or visible look. I have small hands and most guitars are hard to fret cleanly, this one is awesome(and makes me understand the term 'fast'). I have played 22 years and never had the ease of use this one gives me. A Must Buy!!!!

Hello all,Ive been playing guitar about 5 years and i wanted a guitar with a good floyd and of course EMG 81/85 combo. This guitar looked great to me and after reading all the reviews and stuff, i saved up money for it and bought it. When i got it..I wasn't to impressed. Yes, it sounds AMAZING! But, the double locking tremolo only takes you up half a step, theres some foam think that blocks it. I'm sure you could take the foam block out or something, I don't know. But I'm also a new comer to Floyd roses. The horns at the top of the guitar felt and sounded hollow to me..i don't know if Jackson does this on purpose to make the guitar lighter or something I'm not sure. But it annoyed the hell out of me. Another thing that annoyed me..and this might be the fact the neck has 24 frets..but the fretboard went over the body a little bit with no neck underneath it. It's like there was a little ledge/lip hanging over the guitar..and that bugged me. Overall, I believe the true value of this guitar is the EMGs and the Floyd Rose, so in that case I think Jackson just kind of bullshitted the guitar..and didn't make a very good guitar. I sent mine back and ordered an ESP/LTD V-500.

So this is the BEST guitar I have ever owned! Everything about it is amazing. The neck is smooth and fast, and the inlays are pretty sweet looking. The emg 81 and 85's really make this thing scream! Pinch harmonics, solos...well pretty much everything sounds better on this guitar. The shape is comfortable and the finish (I got transparent black) is very nice looking! After a show I was approached by at least 5 people who had nothing but nice things to say about my guitar. The floyd rose is tight and responsive and it wont go out of tune, no matter how many dive bombs you put this baby through. I tune it monthly, not daily like some guitars. Everything on it is high quality, no plastic volume knobs here. If you play any form of metal, or for that matter ANY type of music, you should buy this guitar! worth any amount of money!! YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!!
This guitar is by far the best guitar ive ever owned or played. i played some other jacksons at my local music store and wasn't impressed, i hesitated on buying this one at first. When i got it i about screamed! it is beautiful. its neck is perfect. the floyd rose is flawless, the diecast tuners are grets, and it plays and sounds like a dream. if your thinking about buying this dont think twice. just buy it!
This guitar is SICK for any metal/hard rock player. The EMG Active 81/85 pickups are amazing for pinched harmonics and crunshy rhythms. Hands down the best guitar for the price tag on it, its worth WAY more! The only disadvantage is that the volume knob is right where I palm mute so it goes down on stage, but what the heck it sounds so good its not an issue. Buy this NOW!
I've been playing for 5 years now and my father for 40. This is by far the best guitar I have ever picked up, and my father said the same thing, and he's been playing for 40!! If you're new to Floyd Roses don't worry, it's extremely easy to set up. Once I put new strings on it and lowered the action, it absolutely blew me away... Sustain like you wouldn't believe, comfortable, and very fast!!!!! GET IT NOW!
I just purchased this axe in the black and I played for over 3 hours straight my first night. It took me awhile to set up the trem systeme and tune the thing but it was well worth it. The EMG 81/85 set up sounds great and the neck is fast. In addtion, the guitar just looks real great. I would highly recommend this guitar.
This guitar has to probably be the best guitar I have ever owned. It's super light body offers the capability of super fast licks and superior shredding. I've owned many guitars before my Jackson, but nothing seems to compare to the awesome tone this guitar gives. I play through a MG100HDFX Marshall and the sound and tone it gives is Godly. I would recommend this guitar to any Metal, Hardcore, Hard Rock guitarist that wants SUPERIOR SOUND!
At first I was very excited to play this incredible looking guitar...after all, the pickups are awesome and the features, such as the 3 way toggle and boost knob, I expected what I paid for. But here I am, less than a year later, I find that this guitar WILL NOT, I REPEAT WILL NOT! stay in tune!! Even after being instructed by the guy at the guitar store how to string it up and tune it up, I streched the strings and put the tuning locks on and not even after 5 minutes of playing it, it would be out of tune right away, having to take the tuning locks off again and tune it again!! The fine tuners could not adjust enough to put it back in tune. it was that bad! So now I barely use this guitar, and I'm actually starting to hate it, because of its definite unreliablity.
Pros :Very fast and smooth action, Amazing pickups set (EMG 81/85), Awesome Craftmanship (Made In Japan), Long lasting paint job, Truly beatiful fretboard (Nice Inlay), Archtop body (Body is curved a bit), Amazing sustain for a bolt-on neck, Very cool Floyd Rose bridge.Cons : Could be more confortable(Picking Hand).I suggest you to buy that guitar you won't be disapointed. It makes 2 months I have it and I'm truly in love. I've looked around a lot for the perfect guitar but .. couldn't find one. When I found this one I was really surprised for the quality and price. I immediately bought it. No hesitation. So if you're looking for a great guitar and you like playing rock, metal or ... this is THE guitar you need. For the price it's unbeatable. I hope this will make change your mind !
i have been playing for a year and i have the luxury of playing with people that are amazing the guitar i had before this was a ltd f-50 and by far this guitar is ten times better than any esp it has an extremely fast neck the pick ups are amazing the whole look of the guitar is just flat out amazing the tremelo sytem works fantastic stock strings are crap though i would recomed this guitar to any one for any style of music exspeiacly if you love to solo and write very fast riffs
I can not say how many countless guitars I have played over the years. This is by far one of the best instruments I have had the opportunity to own, and I own my fair share. I have thicker fingertips than most and the wider topnut is night and day difference in playability. I use the MG Series DKMG Dinky for recording and have found the clarity is amazing. Beyond that, the tone range is incredible. I use a GNX3000 and some old school Morley pedals (EVO)etc with a Marshall fx150 amp. Very clear, alomst makes me wish I did not buy a pedal for cabinet modeling with the tone range of the guitar.
