Comments about Jackson Pro Dinky DK2QM Electric Guitar:

I already had the Jackson Soloist SLX, and was very impressed. It is a solid guitar, and it feels like a guitar near the price range, but after getting this guitar, the Dinky DK2, I must say they quality is even better than the Soloist SLX by at least triple. This guitar looks, feels, and sounds like a guitar in this ran, possible as good as any starting USA made Jackson costing $2000 and upwards. The color is beautiful, having the Chlorine Blue, it is a little darker than the photo, which is typically the case. The maple neck is smooth. I prefer ebony, and even rosewood is alright, but the fretboard is smooth and fast. The compound radius neck is great. The neck towards the neck is comfortable and in no way too thick, probably not as thick as a PRS or Ibanez neck, but close, at any rate, you will not have any complaints unless you like a big thick chunky neck. The thickness near the bridge is super flat and the bolt on designed for easy smooth access to the frets near the bridge pickup. The pickups are top notch and you get a bang for your buck here, possibly the best feature of this guitar, plus in zebra if you like that. The Floyd Rose is good too, I have had this guitar for 3 weeks and it hasn't gone out of tune yet. The guitar does have a slightly smaller feel to it as compared to my PRS Torero, but really isn't a problem because it is comfortable with the strap. Now, if the FR thing isn't your thing, I wouldn't buy this guitar. Floyd Rose systems aren't that hard to adjust or change strings, you just have to know a few things, and this information is all over YouTube. But if you are playing 70'z and 80's hard rock, you should be playing a guitar with a Floyd Rose. If you are playing more temporary Metal, you probably don't need one. Bottom line, you are getting a solid guitar, quality above the price, good build quality, great cosmetic look, and incredible tone with quality pickups. This is possibly the best guitar I own, only tied with my PR

Comments about Jackson Pro Dinky DK2QM Electric Guitar:

I rate this guitar 4.5 stars!! Great guitar for the money, actually its a killer deal. Here's the deal: my particular example had cracks in the poly finish on both sides of the neck pocket, but that is extremely common even on new guitars. The neck/pocket fit is very snug and it was shipped in the winter, this can happen. My fret board binding on the bass side overhang wasnt cut straight at the end and needed a little work to make it perfect, which it is now. The setup up also needs work, but felt and sounded pretty good out of the box all things considered - just a hint a buzz and sustain was not great. The saddles on the trem had 1 long shim under the middle 4, and should be reshimmed to more of an 18" rad to match the compound rad fingerboard instead of the 10" I got(no shims would be better actually). Once that was fixed, I could remove the half shim from under the nut that tiltled it and set the neck relief to actually relieve(it was almost dead flat on delivery). Now that that is out of the way, BOY does she shred! The neck feels great and can be easily refinished to your liking. The 3-bolt heel joint is lovely, probably the thing that really sets this Pro series apart from the others as the hidden gem of the dk's, the access you get over the square heel 4 bolt is noticeable. Direct mount pickup routs filled with SD 59/JB work well here, and after dialing in the height lower and the poles higher they arent coming out! I found that this guitar can get a few good clean sounds on top of absolutely wailing under gain(as expected) in either a modern or more vintage style amp...the 5 way selector is put to use well here. Add to that a higher grade figured maple top and headstock veneer, bound neck and headstock, and the lower body horn w/ front and rear contouring to go with the neck pocket. I also like the offset inlays over the sharks, thats me. If this guitar was stolen, I would replace it w/ another MiM Jackson Dinky Pro quick and have no USA envy
