OVERVIEW

'Tude and tone to spare.

The Jackson RR5 Rhoads Pro Electric Guitar for 2008 gives you superior tone, sustain and playability. This version of the Jackson Randy Rhoads V has it all: neck-thru-body construction, an alder body, maple neck with a compound-radius rosewood fretboard, a pair of Seymour Duncan TB4 humbucker pickups, tune-o-matic-style bridge with strings thru body, sharkfin inlays, and gold hardware. Looks hot and sounds hot!

Jackson's compound-radius fingerboard curves more dramatically at the nut for easy chording and flattens out as it approaches the neck joint for low-action bends without fretting out. With a more relaxed hand, you'll play better!

FEATURES
  • Neck-thru construction
  • 2 Seymour Duncan TB4 humbuckers
  • Alder body
  • Maple neck
  • Rosewood compound-radius fretboard
  • 22 jumbo frets
  • Sharkfin inlays
  • 1-11/16" nut width
  • 25-1/2" scale
  • Gold hardware

This guitar is absolutely stunning. I have Dimarzio Breed pick - ups in mine which make it scream on overdrive, but the seymour duncans are almost as good (which is REALLY good). This piece of instrumental perfection sounds and looks amazing. I don't typically play metal, as i am more into Progressive rock bands like Genesis, yes and King Crimson, but this guitar can handle both. In fact, it can handle any genre i throw at it. It is perfect, except the fact a whammy bar is absent, but who needs it? just puts it out of tune anyways. which leads to another point: one of the best features of this guitar is its ability to maintain its tuning, and it does this exceedingly well. It beautifully handles bends, vibratos, arpeggios, sweeping, artificial/ natural harmonics, ANYTHING you can put out. Also, it is very durable. I have been surprised on many occasions with this thing's incredable ability to not scratch or chip (and ive almost put it through my cieling when putting the strap on it). Maintainance is almost unnecessary, as i've never had to adjust it or make any changes at all. If you are looking to buy this instrument, BUY IT. Nothing else competes with it, however, the ESP M-II is a close condender, but the RR5 wins overall.

I purchased this guitar less then a year ago and I wish I didn't. It has nice action and nice pickups but it is a slow neck and has kind of sticky feeling to it. It is really high maintnence and not built to last. I think people should save their money from this guitar because you can get a much nicer guitar for that amount of money.

    Perfect for metal/hardrock

    By Israel-vVwXU

Comments about Jackson RR5 Rhoads Pro Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

Perfect for metal/hardrock it delivers a nice hard sound. This guitar is also great for drop d playing. There are a few minor adjustments that you would need to make, so it can be your own style such as change of strings and pickups. Other than that, it sounds almost perfect just the way it was made.

    Jackson RR5 = Great

Comments about Jackson RR5 Rhoads Pro Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

This Guitar is a great guitar. There is a few things about it that people might not like. 1st, The point is hard to get use to and you most likely will hit it on things and chip the paint job. 2nd, if you play low tunes like dropped B the sound gets more spread out from your amp and it sounds a little scratchy but if you play Dropped D or standerd E the pickups are great. Stays intune well if you put on your strings right. Over all i love this guitar.

Comments about Jackson RR5 Rhoads Pro Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

I've had this guitar for about a year now and it is constantly fun to play. The shape and color alone make people take notice. The distortion is brutal thanks to the tb4's. The neck is a bit wide for my taste, but feels great.Great guitar for the price.

    PERFECT GUITAR

    By RIPDIME-EYrO-

Comments about Jackson RR5 Rhoads Pro Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

This is a great guitar. I just got it a few days ago and it sounds great through my Line 6. The bridge pick up is great for lead such as Walk by Pantera and the neck pick up is fantastic for clean for songs such as Cemetary Gates by Pantera. The only problem I could find with this excellent guitar is that it is a little difficult to play sitting down and also its very easy to bump into things with and scratch the finish. Overall, this guitar is great.

A Piece of Randy Rhoads' Legacy!

    By Ironsixx

    from Los Angeles

Comments about Jackson RR5 Rhoads Pro Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

I don't know where to start! Looks wise this guitar is the perfect embodiment of Randy Rhoads: sleek, classy and elegant but able to go and shred your brains out and trust me it delivers! Its killer feel in your hands matches its tone through your amp. Searing Leads, crunchy rythms, beautiful cleans, this guitar can do it all! The craftsmanship is perfect, its super solid and feels and plays like a $5000 Jackson Custom shop piece. My only gripe at the beginning was the absence of a floyd rose, but 5 seconds of shredding on this baby pushed the thought way out of my mind. I've played a huge variety of guitars and this is still one of my personal favorites live, in the studio or just jamming with my band. This is one guitar that combines all everything you want into one great stylish package. So if your looking for extreme sound and killer, classy looks, look no where else!

    Rhoads lives on!

    By MarcusMo87

Comments about Jackson RR5 Rhoads Pro Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

This guitar is made for one thing and one thing only. Pure shredding. It has beautiful looks and wonderful feel. Me, being a Kirk Hammett fan, I bought this in black and replaced the pickups with EMG's because it's basically the same guitar he played on the Puppets album with the pickup change as well. If your looking to play metal and only metal, then this is the guitar that will certainly do it.

My band member has one of these, I played it. Let me tell you, this thing has very nice looks, tone, and has RANDY RHOADS(!) name on it. Could it possibly get any cooler? Well, actually it could. No whammy bar... I love whammy bars.

Comments about Jackson RR5 Rhoads Pro Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

I bought this guitar about a year and a half ago. I would say it's my favorite guitar.. but all of my guitars have certain qualities that I love, so I can't just choose one. The features are really great, the Alder body and the Seymour Duncan pickups give it great tone. though...When I recieved the guitar in the mail though, the electronics were wired wrong and everytime I touched the volume knob it would make a horrid scratching sound through the amp. Also, the gold plate smudges easily, but that's not really a problem. Overall this is a great guitar and is worth the money, but personally I would go with the RR24 over this one, But that's just my personal preference.

I have only played this guitar 2 times but both times I enjoyed it more than anything I've ever played. I have played on it for a max of 40 minutes and already I know that will be the next guitar I'm getting next. It sounds awesome, Is built awesome, and it looks AMAZING!!! Personally I believe it might be better than most Gibsons.

    Outstanding Guitar

    By JacksonRR1981

Comments about Jackson RR5 Rhoads Pro Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

It was the last one and brand-spanking new. It is more comfortable than my Gibson Flying V and the Duncan TB-4 is hotter than my EMG-81. Although it is made in Japan, the quality/materials are equal to a USA-made Jackson, only you are not paying for American labor costs. I intend to sell my Flying V. Buy it!

I played this at my guitar store and I gotta say I didnt like it. I'm a huge Rhoads fan but this isnt a good Rhoads. THERES NO TREMELO!!! Randy loved his tremelo! Also, it has a painted neck. You can get a RR3 for about half the price and get a Jackson Floyd and an unpainted neck.

    By JacksonLover420

Comments about Jackson RR5 Rhoads Pro Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

Wow, i saw this guitar in a shop and had to play it. It is one of the best instruments i have ever held. The sustain is incredible. And when you strap it on your shoulders, you almost feel nothing it is so light. I played it about three times then i knew i had to have it. The Jackson RR5 has great tone when on the neck pick-up. And the sound is like a Pitbull when on the bridge pick-up. Killer guitar!

Comments about Jackson RR5 Rhoads Pro Electric Guitar (2008 Model):

This guitar is definitely worth the price. I got the ivory one and this thing just screams Randy Rhoads. The guitar stays in tune very well even if you dont play it for a while. If you like playing in standard tuning the setup for the guitar is great. However, if you like playing anything lower than drop D change the strings to a thicker gauge like a 10-52. So when you down tune the strings dont get all sloppy. Overall this is a great guitar and looks awesome.
