Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a good guitar but doesn't need it to have a bunch of bling and flash. I've always found its more important what and how you play, not what on.
Not even considering that this guitar is a hundred dollars, it is a beautiful playing guitar. The intonation is dead on, easy to push down on the stings, action is just about right(I might lower it a smidge). Right out of the box, stretched my strings, tuned up and haven't had to tune it since except for changing to some odd tunings. The tuners aren't the greatest but they do their job. What I am most impressed with is the tone. If you have a kid that wants to start playing guitar and you don't know if they'll stick with it, buy this. It's not costing you an arm and a leg and its a good solid beginner to intermediate guitar. Poor quality guitars often hinder the playing of beginners. THIS does not.

I glued the tuner mounting screws back in and will probably drill larger holes in the tuners and install larger screws when they become loose. I didnt return it because it doesnt sound bad at all considering I only paid 1/2 the price of a similar guitar at a music shop. The action is a bit low and there is some fret buzz. If you aren't handy with tools and don't know how to setup a guitar, I'd spend more on something else.
Cant get anymore Plain Jane than this. I don't care because you cant hear fancy.
My review would have been so much better if all the mounting screws for the three high string tuners hadn't been stripped. I noticed this as I replaced the factory strings on the instrument and two of the tuners literally fell off.
I doubt if you will ever find a better sounding "beater" guitar for less than $100 (unless used).

Comments about Jasmine S35 Acoustic Guitar:
I've bought a lot of cheap guitars at one time or another, but have been blown away with this one. For the price, it has a really nice tone and a quality finish. Mine was used and needs a set of light or ultra light strings, but still rings out. Nothing agains the Washburn, Yamaha, and Epiphone entry level models, but this is the best value I've seen so far.

Comments about Jasmine S35 Acoustic Guitar:
If your looking for the perfect introductory guitar at an introductory price range, look no further than a Takamine Jasmine. There are a lot of reviews here so here's my short assesment and recommendations....
Even though they are Nato wood with laminate sides and tops, with proper set up and strings, and care, the Nato wood will open up a world of tone for you. They are very well built student guitars. I have owned mine for three years and it sounds comparable to some inexpensive spruce tops! Many a friend have been blown away by the awesome tone I get from my S34QA.
As with any guitar, set up by a professional is recommended. Especially the cheaper guitars. Put a good set of light to ultra-lite phosper bronze strings on the Jasmine, anything heavier will comprimise it's abilities. Have a tech at your local music shop or an experienced player check for problems, intonation, etc.
Most importantly, IF YOUR A SERIOUS STUDENT, a HARD CASE will protect your investment from the elements and keep the wannabe's from messing with your tuners and abusing your instrument. It will also discipline you to take care of your Jasmine as well as future investments, and make you appreciate your guitar more, trust me. A hard case and a quality tuner and capo, is highly recommended to anyone who takes learning and approaching the guitar seriously.
Well that's my short and sweet review and recommendations for this student rig... Play on.

Comments about Jasmine S35 Acoustic Guitar:
The sound of this guitar is quit wonderful if you keep it in toon. It will tell you quickly if not. It also makes you bare down harder to make the notes than the higher price guitars. But for a lay around pick it up and play anytime guitar it is great and really sounds great. Keep you from digging out the high cost guitar you keep safely away in its case. Besides it will cause you to strenghten your fingers for that two hour sit around play anything time with friends. You will not be sorry if you buy this a assure you. Just remember guitars like this to have them play and sound great must be in toon is all to it.

Comments about Jasmine S35 Acoustic Guitar:
Jasmine S35 is one awesome laminate (plywood) guitar. The craftsmanship to this guitar is perfect, surprisingly at this price. The neck action out of the box was perfect; the strings are low enough to play single notes and cords easily. The curvature of the neck is also just right, it's very shallow. It has a good neck, not bulky and not too thin. The tuning machines are not the best but, they definitely keep the strings in tune for a long time.
A laminate guitar can never produce the overtones and the harmonics that a solid wood guitar can but, nonetheless this guitar has a good bright sound and a good volume.
There are advantages to an all-laminate guitar; it is sturdier and less fragile in extreme temperatures and humidity conditions than the more expensive solid wood guitar
I'm very happy with my purchase of Jasmine S35; IT'S A GREAT BARGAIN!!

Comments about Jasmine S35 Acoustic Guitar:
Compared to other guitars in this price range you'd be hard pressed to find a better looking and feeling guitar. This Jasmine is perfect for new players and/or players with smaller hands. That's not to say that professionals can't use it. I've been playing guitar for nearly ten years now and this little Jasmine sounds better than a Dean I paid roughly three times as much for. It feels better too and looks great. The finish is amazing and not seen too often on guitars. I picked this up for a female student to learn on and am contemplating getting a second for myself and letting my Dean go. Great job Takamine. I may have paid a little more at a local store but I got quite a few goodies and a great in store warranty. The price can't be beat here on Musicians Friend though.

Comments about Jasmine S35 Acoustic Guitar:
I purchased this guitar as a Christmas present for one of my wife's kids. I had tried many low priced guitars in stores - they were all terrible. So I took a chance on this low priced name brand. It was so nice, I almost didnt give it away! The mat finish is nice, it stays in tune, and has reasonable action. A beginner would be proud to own and learn on this guitar. I was even thinking about ordering an 2nd one!
