Comments about Jose Ramirez R2 Classical Guitar:

I've had my Ramirez since july....she was built in 2008 and the strings were toast! I put on a set of Savarez 520 pi wound treble strings and now we're talkin!!! every day she opens up just a little bit more. There are not a ton of features....it's a hand made spanish guitar with a wicked cedar top, the finish is beautiful, the binding is clean and consistant, the rosette is very very nice and the tuning pegs shine like real gold....all in all it's a great player with a beautiful voice that just keeps getting better...I'm not a pro but i play every day and have for 15 years.....I own several guitars electric and acoustic....all made in the U.S.A so you know waht brand they are .....my Ramirez r2 is my daily player...YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED

Comments about Jose Ramirez R2 Classical Guitar:

I have two other Ramirez guitars-1988E3 and 1969E. When I decided to give this one a try my only hesitation was the laminated sides and back. With the first two, I played both before I bought them. With this one I didn't (got it from Musicans Friend). When it first arrived it sounded good but that was all.It is now four years later and I must confess that the sound is superb. It really is a completely different guitar. It now compares to Ramirez's higher end works of art.I really am quite happy with it, though it took four years to get there. PS.--- The Humicase that came with it is quite convenient.

        Nice but could be better

Comments about Jose Ramirez R2 Classical Guitar:

I have owned this guitar for 3 months now.I hated the sound of the strings when I first played it. Put new Augustine strings on it, only helped a little. I changed last week to my favorite D'addario EJ45's and now it sounds like what I was hoping for. The saddle is standard classical but I lowered it a bit to suit my feel for easier playing. My biggest gripe is that it needed a fret dressings on both sides of the neck. I don't know if this is because it sat in the warehouse for a long time (guitar is dated 2008) or if it was the quality of workmanship. I have a fret file from StewMac so I went to work and now my fingers slide easily along the side of the neck. I think the tuners are a little cheap for the price of the guitar. Although this guitar took a little work out of the box, if you are looking for a full size classical, I feel it is still a very nice sounding guitar and worth the $$. The overall workmanship, bracing, finish, binding, neck, head are all very well done. It came with a VERY nice humicase.

        wonderful instrument

Comments about Jose Ramirez R2 Classical Guitar:

I found this to be the best sounding guitar that a very large music store in Atlanta had. I tried some that were way more expensive but this one had a great mix of sweetest tone, strong volume and comfortable neck, with low action.I have owned 4 entry and medium level classical guitars and I've played on my classmates' and my teacher's really expensive guitars and this guitar is really one of the very best. I don't regret the purchase.

I really like the feel and the tone. The low strings have very good sound and the volume is good. The sustain is very good also!

Great guitar at a great price

Comments about Jose Ramirez R2 Classical Guitar:

This is one of the few mass produced classical guitars which I would consider giving a concert on, and it is a great guitar with great response, tone, and volume. Using this guitar makes many classical guitar techniques much much easier. This guitar is a great buy for anyone who wishes to delve seriously into classical guitar, in addition to being made by one of the most prestigious luthiers in the world, it is an added bonus that it comes from the Maestro Andres Segovia's luthier.
