OVERVIEW

This model's specs are based on the famed 1983 USA Pacer.

Kramer guitars have a long history of performance-driven excellence. In the 80's, the company itself was considered one of the top guitar companies in the world.

The Kramer Pacer Classic's body, neck and electronics layout is faithful to the 1983 Kramer Pacer, which was famed for its versatility and playability. No wonder many name guitarists from that era were Kramer endorsees!

The Kramer Pacer guitar's beak headstock and classic 80s block logo top off this classic Kramer with a locking nut to keep you in tune. Vintage Kramer fans will notice Kramer moved the truss rod adjustment to the headstock, but that's the only difference in the Kramer Pacer Classic's neck from the original.

Classic dot inlays on a satin finished, thin-tapered maple neck with jumbo frets. No splice joint here, its all one piece topped with a maple board.

The mahogany body is loaded with classic alnico magnet pups, with a volume, tone control layout with a 3-way mini-toggle. Kramer has also added a what they call a "treble bleed" mod to the volume controls to keep that sparkle when you back down the decibels. This Kramer guitar is topped off with a Floyd Rose tremolo system for all the dive bombs you can handle while staying in tune.

Check the drop-down menu to the right to select colors and/or other options.

I'm blown away by this guitar. I grabbed it off the used section here on MF and I'm surprised anyone would return this beauty.

The fretwork is perfection. No buzz. Easy to set up. It came set up perfectly right out the box, with slightly high action on the treble side. In less than a minute I had it exactly where I wanted it.

Wow! I've owned Gibsons, Ibanez Prestige... This Kramer somehow plays better then all of them. When Kramer releases more finishes of this model I'm buying a second! (My first is pearl white.)

The electronics are tops, and I even liked the stock pickups. That being said, the stock pickups are the 490T/R set used in Epiphones. Since I already own a Gibson with 490's I decided to swap pickups.

I dropped in a set of Duncan Distortions and... Words don't describe the tones you can achieve. Dokken all day long! Pretty good cleans too, roll back the volume knob (gotta love the built in treble bleed!) and you got some nice funk/reggae tones. I know a lot of strat players aren't interested in dealing with Floyds, and I completely understand why, but Floyds CAN use used subtly. No one is forcing you to drive bomb all day. You can, though, and this guitar isn't going out of tune! The licensed Kramer trem beats the official import "Floyd Rose Special". My Ibanez Prestige doesn't hold tune as well as this baby, and it's sporting an original Edge Pro! (Not to discredit the prestige, I love it, but it doesn't astound me like the Kramer does. The price difference helps.)

I love the combination of the mahogany body with the maple fretboard. Lots of snap, but it's still warm. Perfect balance.

Once I threw on some strap locks and neon green dome knobs I was ready to whip out the spandex and rock! I can't say enough positive things about this axe.

This was my practice guitar for a long time. The pickups sound really good, the tremolo shocked me with how well it stayed in tune, and the red paint looks great. The build quality doesn't feel amazing and the neck is comfortable but not wonderful, however, I was able to put the action extremely low without buzz. The guitar is worth the money, but I still prefer the Striker when it comes to feel.

This is a really good guitar for this price. It sounds good, stays in tune amazingly well and it's fast. I had problems with it our of the box, just dropped the action with a turn of two screws on the Floyd and it was ready to play. You can't go wrong with it.

Comments about Kramer Pacer Classic Electric Guitar:

KRAMER is back! I could not be happier with this guitar. So solid and well built it practically plays itself. Very easy to play and very responsive. Great warm tone. Very '80's Metal sounding. The Mahogany Body and Hard Maple Neck combine to create the most amazing tone and sustain. The neck has a smooth satin finish and is very easy to play and would make it a lot easier for a beginner to learn. Very well built. High quality. I have no idea how they can offer a guitar of this quality for such a low price. The Candy Apple Red finish is absolutely beautiful. I am proud of this guitar and have a blast playing it. It feels like and sounds like a guitar that costs three times more! If you are thinking of buying this, dont hesitate any further.

Comments about Kramer Pacer Classic Electric Guitar:

Ok, overall not a bad guitar at all. Sound is pretty good and I personally like the feel of it. I am not too picky when it comes to how the neck feels and plays, as long as it ins't uncomfortable. The only problem I had was that no matter what the action was horrible. If i set it so that the action didn't buzz on the lower end of the neck the action was too high at the higher end, and if it was nice at the higher end it buzzed at the lower end. I had to actually carve a bit of the neck off where it bolts into the body so that it was even throughout the frets. GO OVER THIS GUITAR WITH A FINE TOOTH COMB!!! Make sure everything is in order before you decide to keep it. In the long run its worth the money but only if they send you one that is of the quality and worth the Kramer name.

Comments about Kramer Pacer Classic Electric Guitar:

This is a sweet guitar. So smooth, effortless to play. My strat is now a lawn ornament.

Previously I owned a similar style of blue or red guitar from a similar price range. It was a piece of junk, the worst guitar I've ever owned of prolly four dozen. Impossible to get in tune. I never once got the thing in tune and finally gave it away for next to nothing. I should have just junked it to save anyone else the trouble.

Ok, this guitar, the Kramer Pacer Classic I got used. This is a dream. A thin, yet fat neck. Just right so that your hand doesn't close all the way and get cramped up. You don't have to apply much pressure to play a note, so moving from one to the next is effortless. I can play licks on this that would be impossible or, at least, very tedious, on my strat.

The body is a very nice shape visually, and is large enough that it is very comfortable to play while sitting.

Ok, to the pickups. They are not super hot by any means. But, they aren't garbage. They are adequate and I won't be replacing them. They are what I would call average.

Tuning stability is very good. I might remove the locking nut once a week or so to tune, then use the fine tuners for a week.

Ok, get this axe, it's probably the best guitar you'll find in its price range. In reality, it's likely the best guitar you'll find even in a slightly higher price range.

Comments about Kramer Pacer Classic Electric Guitar:

I've owned only 2 (electric) guitars in my 4 years of playing guitar, and this definitely beats my old one. It has a smooth neck feel, a comfortable body shape/feel and is surprisingly light. I honestly think that this won't be my first and last Kramer i will own.

In my opinion, it is the perfect guitar for me. The pickups are the only downfall, yet they are great pickups in my opinion. The only con i could mention at the moment would be that it is made in Indonesia. What i mean by that is that it could only be better if it was made in America. But it doesn't bother me, i don't see how it could be much better, i would only be paying for what i probably wouldn't even notice

The neck has a glossy look, yet a very smooth feel. A thin neck, perfect for speed and comfort. The knobs are not stiff and are super easy to move, although i'm not sure if the stiffness in the knobs are the same on all the guitars of this model. It stays in tune no matter how much i bend the whammy bar.

Overall, it is perfect. Perfect for tapping, too. Not much more to say. I don't see how you can possibly go wrong with this guitar...honestly!!!

One last thing, in terms of staying in tune, i am tuning this guitar more than i expected. I tune it about 3-5 times every practice session (a few hours of practice). Yes, i use the locking nut. I am guessing it has to do with my own style of playing. Or maybe because i play my strings to the point where they break, instead of replacing them regularly.

Comments about Kramer Pacer Classic Electric Guitar:

Overall, with a better pick up, It would be even more fantastic.
This is my first review of any guitars. This guitar is a great looking guitar and it plays nice, the neck is a pleasure to play. Surely, for the price range, you can't do better, I don't think.
While, the Pick ups has more pros than cons, but the upgrade would make this guitar and absolute great guitar.

I am running it through Laney amp and RP 155 Digitech.

              Clean channel sounds very nice.

The sound is clear and even with distortion and overdrive every note can be heard without getting lost in the translation or hide behind the distortion. Very good articulation. Very bright sounding and not muddy or too bassy. However, for my taste is sound a bit too dry and It would have been nicer it it has more warmth. However, it lacks chunks and too dry sounding when playing chords, riffs, etc with overdrive and distotion. Not good at all. The pick ups are weak, I am replacing the pick ups with SD Hot Rod.
With all the complaints, It is great guitar for the price range.
