OVERVIEW

A trem guitar loaded with all the goods a serious rocker needs.

A plethora of great tones are generated by the Kramer Striker 211 guitar's Alnico V bridge humbucker and dual single-coil pickups in the middle and neck. Controls include a master volume, master tone, and a 5-way selector. The volume features what Kramer calls a "treble bleed" mod, which keeps your tone bright when backing down the volume control.

The Kramer Striker 211 Custom electric guitar features a double-cutaway mahogany body with a beautiful flamed maple top. A bolt-on maple neck has a thin-tapered profile that makes playing effortless. The Kramer guitar's 24-fret maple fingerboard sports thorn-shaped position inlays. A recessed double-locking Floyd Rose-licensed tremolo bridge system won't get in your way and will keep you in tune no matter how aggressively you play.

In the mid-1970s, when Kramer guitars began, they were exclusively producing aluminum necked guitars. In 1982, Kramer cemented an exclusive distribution deal with Floyd Rose. Kramer guitars were also loaded with additional features like Schaller tuners and Seymour Duncan pickups. With the endorsement of Eddie Van Halen, Kramer became the world's best selling guitar in the mid-80s. The Gibson Guitar Company acquired the revered Kramer brand and has reissued many of the historic Kramer guitars and introduced modern design innovations as well. Kramer players include a who's who of rock guitarists with Eddie Van Halen, Ritchie Sambora, Mick Mars, & Vivian Campbell among them.

When ever I got the guitar in the mail the first thing that I checked when I took it out of its box was for a good neck feel and a comfortable guitar to play and it certainly feels great, the neck feels' smooth and the guitar overall is awesome. When I read reviews or watch them people who own this guitar most of the time they want to change the pickups that this guitar has which are, 2 single coils and 1 humbucker, I mean these pickups sound really great for stock pickups, I mostly play hard rock and heavy metal music so this guitar is really good for that, the humbucker does a good job for the distortion and the two single coils sound awesome for clean tone's, also this guitar is the type where you can just shred the hell out of it especially cause of the Licensed Floyd Rose it has. The Floyd Rose it's self doesn't come out of tune at all, nothing a good setup and adjusting won't do, but overall its a great tremolo system all though it does have bit of a backlash problem with the arm, and there's lot's of tutorial videos online on how to fix similar problems like this one and what I did was purchase a original Schaller Floyd Rose tremolo arm online and I replaced the stock arm and the screw on part with it and the problem was fixed, there was no backlash at all, I do hear of allot of people having this problem with trem's so the Schaller part's, overall their Floyd Rose system is great. Plus this guitar looks much better in person than what the picture online looks like, all though I do have the sunburst model which I did want the purple one more but that model was a exclusive from Kramer Guitar's 2010 so its kind of rare in brand new condition, another thing is that many guitars that ship from around the globe tend to have problems with sharp fret end's, this problem mostly happen's do to the wood on the guitar's neck shrinking do to climate zones and moister that it goes through while it gets do the retailer selling it to you, and if you have this problem with any of your guitars you can purchase a fret file online and soften the frets, so overall this guitar was a great pickup I enjoy it all though it had some simple issues I fixed them my self, so for the price I mean its a great buy.

The instrument is attractive, and solidly built. The minimum requirement for me is a guitar must play in tune over the entire neck, and this does. I did have tuning stability problems using the tremolo arm. Following the advice of another reviewer here, I went to Allparts and bought a replacement Floyd Rose arm. It was inexpensive, easy to install (remove back cover), and fixed the problem. Also, the stock arm also wasn't snug so precision tremolo movements were not possible. This was fixed with the replacement. The tuning pegs are solid. The single coil pickups are solid. The bridge pickup is better, so I rate as decent (hot, fairly articulate, ok tone). One note is position 4 on pickup selector is weak for the classic strat plunk. The other positions are better. For my playing preferences, I will have to take this instrument to a luthier to have to frets worked to lower the string height to what I am used to having. There is too much fret buzz and deadness with simply lowering the bridge height. The bottom line for me is this is a good value, but it is not a $2000 guitar. It meets my expectations, and I'll keep it (versus retuning it).

Comments about Kramer Striker 211 Custom Electric Guitar:

Bought this guitar for my 13yr old and I think I'm playing more with it. The guitar is very well made, real straight neck, no adjusting required, plays effortlessly and stays in tune amazingly no matter how much you use he trem. Amazing squealies and harmonics can be created anywhere on the neck. The double humbuckers at the brigde sound awesome and the singles are not bad at all. The trem real easy to adjust. THe best part is the low action once adjusted with no fret buzz. For the price, you will not be dissapointed. Oh, and I forgot to mention the great service from musciansfriend, guitar was nicely packed and came in 4 days to Canada from US, amazing. Going to buy again for sure. Gotta go, off to jam on the Kramer.

Comments about Kramer Striker 211 Custom Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar because the brand sounded like "legendary" to me. Then I saw this one at a good price plus the black friday discount.
However, the disapointment came later, when I received the guitar it looked fine, but later I found a poor quality in the overall, and specifically in the Licensed Floyd Rose, it just does not work, strings keep going out of tune and screws for fine tuning don't move smoothly, some of them move almost all the way up and down and some others only move a couple of turns before getting stuck.

        Fun Guitar!

Comments about Kramer Striker 211 Custom Electric Guitar:

I have been playing my Striker 211 Custom for a few weeks now. It is a fun guitar to play for anyone interested in 80's style rock. The guitar plays very fast and looks great. Be prepared to put some money into new pickups. I had replace the factory humbucker and will be replacing the single coils shortly. Other than the pickups, this is a great guitar. I am very happy with my choice to buy a Kramer.

dude, i love this guitar. works awesome and stays in-tune with the floyd-rose thing. i played the transparent purple one at a local guitar store and loved it so much that i am definitely going to buy one. and a purple one, too, because the purple finish is absolutely stunning in person. very versatile guitar. i know it's more aimed at metal players, but this works fine for indie rock, lo-fi, post-rock and a lot of other non-hard-core genres. will definitely be my next guitar.

I got this guitar for Chrismas and as soon as i held is i was blown away! I usualy like guitar with a rosewood fingerboord but in this case the guitar couldn't be better, i got the trancparent black body graphic and i have to say it looks, Amazing! If your looking for a guitar for Hard Rock and Heavy Metal in the price range of 300-400 than this is the best choice!

        Great Axe!

        By Anonymous

Comments about Kramer Striker 211 Custom Electric Guitar:

My guitar is trans-black and bought via Thomann, 279 e. The quality of finish is very nice and setup nearly perfect, the nut is on perfect level and so does bridge as well, only minor adjusting with the bridge height was necessary. No fret buzz. Finger board is very flat and wide, neck profile d-shape, almost like classical guitars. Guitar itself is quite heavy and gives very good sustain. Bridge pickup is surprisingly ballsy, i thought that i have atleast change that one but i'm very happy about it so i let him stay ( i have guitars with dimarzios but this one make the job well too). Single coils take you back to the Hendrix time.Licensed Floyd works as well as it should be; nice and smooth and keeps tune very well , no major differences to my Schaller Floyd II.Owerall: Goodlooking and well made guitar with nice pickups and low price.

        Great Guitar for the price!

Comments about Kramer Striker 211 Custom Electric Guitar:

Short and sweet review. Out of the box, the finish is flawless, Hardware is tight nothing feels loose. Guitar has some weight to it. It was set up 95% just right, just some tuning needed. Quality & materials are better than my Ibanez RG. No Manual comes with the Guitar, but no real biggie. Some Fret buzz. Stock Pick Ups have plenty of power to them. Overall it's better than I expected for the price.

not bad for this price range

        By RB-4EEEK

        from Columbia SC

Comments about Kramer Striker 211 Custom Electric Guitar:

i had originally planned on getting a Jackson or Charvel, but wasn't ready to drop a grand or more on a guitar any time soon. after looking at the Kramers online, i decided to take a chance. for this price range, i wasn't expecting much. i just hoped it wouldn't be a complete waste of money. my main concern was that it had a decent neck,,,all else can be worked with. i ordered the transparent black model. out of the box it was a nice looking guitar. it had a few minor setup issues. i had to level the bridge and lower it to lower the action. it had NO fret buzz or other problems. the neck is sort of a flat D shape,,,wider than a strat but flatter,,,similar to a Jackson.i will probably replace the pickups with Duncans, but the stock ones aren't that bad for the time being. one problem is the volume knob - from 0-1 it's like an on/off switch, then from 1-10 it has little to no effect. it may be because of the volume bleed mod mentioned on the Kramer web site. i plan to fix that so that a volume swell will be possible. the licensed Floyd Rose stays in tune better than i expected. i've played this guitar for a few weeks now, and i'm having a blast with it. after all is said and done, i think this guitar was a good find for me. it met and maybe even exceeded my expectations. i would definately recommend this guitar for anyone who wanted a Floyd Rose equipped machine, but didn't have a pile of cash to drop on a high end instrument.
