Comments about La Patrie Concert Classical Guitar:
Truly the nylon strung guitar for the best price. Very glad I purchased and play this wonderful guitar.
Comments about La Patrie Concert Classical Guitar:
I decided to get another classical for Bossa Nova after not owning one for abour 20 years. Takes some getting used to with the wide neck. The neck also has a flat profile which is different than some classicals I've played. Takes a bit of adaptation and getting used to but it's very playable.
Tone is quite decent but I don't much care for the strings Godin uses and will experiment with some different types. I'd read on the net that some people thought the Concert was jangly and trebly but I don't get that whatsoever. It's quite mellow.
Solid cedar top and solid mahogany sides and back for a great price is hard to beat.
Really an amazingly well made guitar for the money. Fit and finish is very good. A couple small areas on the binding where some faint stain marks show.
Considering this guitar is made in a modern facility in Quebec by Canadians and not in China, the value is unbeatable.
Comments about La Patrie Concert Classical Guitar:
I verified with LaPatrie customer service that after 2010 this guitar is made with solid Mahogany sides and backs.
The LaPatrie Concerts made after 2010 are made with solid Mahogany sides and backs, making this an even better value in my opinion.

The Consert models made after 2010 have solid Mahogany backs and sides in addition to solid wood tops. This makes them am even better value in my opinion.

You really just can't go wrong with this guitar. As my first classical, I thought it'd take a considerable amount of time to adjust to the size of both the body and neck, as well as getting used to playing in a different position when practicing classical. The guitar's been so comfortable that there was never a need to adjust. Everything felt incredibly natural. Moving along the fretboard is flawless, the tones produced are all wonderful. All the strings ring out evenly, there's never "too much" of any sound.
I was pleased when I first played the guitar. After being able to play it for a year, I've definitely just fallen in love with it. It's really hard to find any flaws in this guitar, and for the price, it's easy to overlook any of the minor flaws you may happen to find. If you're having trouble between this guitar and any other in its price range, I'd recommend the La Patrie Concert Classical without a doubt--the quality of this guitar's even pushing me to purchase a Seagull guitar for my first steel string!
INCREDIBLE quality. Straight out the box, this guitar both looked and felt incredible. It plays incredibly well--I've played a few classical's in a similar price range and none could compare to this one. After a year of pretty heavy use, this guitar's still sounding as well as it did upon arrival. Frets, nut, bridge are all in great working order. Tuners have never been an issue. Finish was flawless, and if you take proper care of your guitar you'll see very few nicks or dings. Everything about this guitar looks, feels, and sounds incredible. Now all you need to do is throw your favorite set of strings on it, and you've got yourself a guitar to enjoy for years without a doubt.
Consider everything said about the quality of the guitar, and then consider that this is a classical guitar for this price. After a year of playing this guitar, I'm convinced that it's a steal at this price--I would've happily paid more for an instrument like this one. It's proven to be durable as well, haven't had a reason to bring it for repairs or anything of the sort despite not exactly treating it as well as I should, making it an even greater value.
Comments about La Patrie Concert Classical Guitar:
I used to own a Washburn classical until i tried one of these. I quickly sold it and bought this one, Oh My! no regrets. Such a warm sound, no buzzing, easy to play and gorgeous to look at. This is one guitar that I will never sell or trade.
Standard features but way above standard sound.
Plays and sounds as good as one costing way more.

Buy it! La Patries/Seagulls are great guitars!
I bought this new in 1997. It's been a great guitar all of this time with no issues. I prefer the cedar top, it is darker than spruce and I played the "bass" parts in my old classical guitar ensemble at school. We had between 5 and 10 guitarists. Try a couple of spruce tops, then the cedar to see if you like it better. It's my day to day guitar and I have beaten on this thing and it still sounds great. For rock, I use it to play Originals and Alex Lifeson/Steve Howe bits at my solo gigs. The only thing I had go wrong is I brought it to Brazil and the humidity (or heat) melted the glue on the bridge in the hotel. I brought it back to the States for a re-glue and no problems. I also made the mistake of installing a passive pickup, I should have installed an active one to really bring out the tones. For this price range, it is a wonderful guitar and Made in Canada (this guitar is) sounds much better (literally) than Made In China!
Exceptional quality. Truss Rod is great on this classical and it stays in tune!
Can't get a great North American guitar (classical) these days in this range!
Comments about La Patrie Concert Classical Guitar:
I picked up this guitar in a music store to carry around with me, because carrying around my Arapicio was not good for my nerves. This guitar has some great features: great sound with easy playability. All in all this guitar is hard to beat for the price. I liked it better than the Cordobas in this price range.
Comments about La Patrie Concert Classical Guitar:
Since I played this guitar at a local music store, I've wanted one. This guitar is premium quality for cheap. The worksmanship is excellent, beautiful materials, handcrafted, great sound. After finding one used, I couldn't resist. Classical guitars are supposed to be simple & elegant and that is what this guitar is. I would recommend this guitar regardless of stage in musicianship; it meets the quality standards of a professional yet is cheap enough for a novice.
