LAGUNA GUITARS LAUNCHES "ONE GUITAR, ONE TREE" REFORESTATION INITIATIVE
Laguna Guitars, reflecting the passionate convictions of musicians, celebrates Earth Day by launching their new "One Guitar, One Tree" reforestation initiative. This plan involves planting one tree for every Laguna guitar made. In addition, Laguna continues to deepen its other practical efforts to reduce waste, recycle and conserve the planet's resources.
For decades, musicians have proudly been socially aware and urged others to take more action, advocacy and awareness in environmental matters. As musicians themselves, those at Laguna have always passionately supported that position, knowing that trees are an economical, long-term solution to many tough environmental problems, including air and water pollution, climate change, wildlife protection, habitat restoration and more. In partnership with AmericanForests.org and their Global Relief campaign, Laguna proudly plants a tree for each Laguna guitar made.
In addition, Laguna's shipping cartons are designed to provide maximum protection with a minimum of material. Their boxes are made from 100% recycled cardboard that is also 100% recyclable, which they naturally encourage wherever possible. Also, in the interests of conservation, they have decided not to print glossy, heavyweight catalogs as millions from various companies end up in landfills every year. Instead, Laguna provides extensive information online at their website (www.playlaguna.com) and a catalog will soon be available as downloadable PDF's, allowing users to print only those pages they want.
As with the design and manufacture of their guitars, Laguna welcomes an open dialogue with musicians and encourages them to share their thoughts and ideas on environmental matters including Laguna's "One Guitar, One Tree" initiative and other earth-friendly plans. All such feedback can be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please visit PlayLaguna.com or AmericanForests.org for more information on the "One Guitar, One Tree" initiative and Global Relief campaign.

Was looking for a new guitar that would give me a good and crunchy metal sound, but one that would also allow me to play some cleaner tunes. I am an experienced guitar player weaning myself off of metal and experimenting with other genres, but I wanted something I could go back to thrash with whenever I wanted. This guitar fit the bill perfectly. The value is unbeatable. Finish is absolutely gorgeous, and the option for coiltapping the bridge humbucker sealed the deal. Knobs and tuning machines are brushed metal, resulting in a beautiful and smooth matte finish. Bridge and string-through design A+.Previous to purchasing this guitar in my local music store, I had never heard of the brand Laguna before, but the guitar guys told me to give it a try and I'm glad I did. It is an amazing instrument packed with features usually found in higher model guitars, looks and feels beautiful (especially the neck-quite fast!), and sounds perfect--all for a reasonable price. TOTALLY recommended for anyone who needs some pretty cool features on a reasonable budget.(Just make sure to get them to set up the neck for you before taking it home--there was some string buzz on mine on certain frets that was fixed in a jiffy by the helpful tech guy.)
I played this today at my local store out of curiosity because I have never heard of the Laguna brand. PLuged it into a VOx AC30 and was very pleased. Good crunch type sounds with the bridge humbucker and good SRV and Hendrix sounds with the neck single coil. The action was pretty good and the bridge stayed in tune when I tryed some divebombs. Overall, I would buy this guitar if i had the spare cash around.
The Laguna LE 422 is a superb guitar. It has a nice body; you can't argue with Louisiana Swamp Ash, especially not for this price. The pickups are great, allowing incredible range and versatility with the humbucker and the two singles. The singles produce great, crisp sound, and the humbucker gives you that crunchy Gibson sound. It plays as well as nearly any Strat or Tele I have ever tried out. Bonus features that come with it are locking tuning pegs and strap locks. I have the honey burst model and I just love the finish. All in all, a near perfect guitar, especially for the price. Maybe not professional-quality, but an amazing deal for anyone who isn't a professional. I hope Laguna becomes more well known.
I thought this was a great guitar for the money until I took it home. The finish is great considering the price although it is obvious that it was designed form cheap production costs, ie the gaps between surfaces. Might be a great guitar, I just couldn't find a decent tone, either with gain or clean channels and the Wilkenson Wang Bar always sounded like a kids toy. I was also so sensitive that if I touched it at all the strings went sharp. I have short fingers so the flat, 12" radius fretboard hurt my hands after a little while of playing. Might be fine or even great for some folks, just not for me.
I bought this guitar mainly because of the appearance and the cheap price, but it was much better than i thought it would be. The whammy bar works great, but I found that to be a little bit of a problem. Using it untuned the extremely easily for the first few months of ownership, but it doesn't make much of a difference now. It may have been the amps I used, but this guitar sometimes sounds a little bit synthesized, which fits my style of music, but it may not be for everyone. I say BUY IT.
I originally was in the market for an amp and grabbed the closest guitar to me. It didn't really catch my eye until I played it. This thing is easily one of the best guitars I've ever played. It can sound as metal as you want and can also sound like a strat. I didn't hesitate to buy it that same day. I own Ibanez Jems, Fender Starts, Gibson LPs, Jacksons and I always come back to this one. I highly recommend these, what steal for the price!
I was at a local guitar store, and I picked up this guitar because of it's finish. After plugging it into an amp, I was absolutely stunned. I fell in love with the Laguna LE422 immediately. It had great tone, and it was very easy to handle. I've played Les Paul's, Strat's, and BC Rich's, but only the strat's have this kind of feel. I was amazed. My only complaint is that there are only 22 frets.
If you buy this guitar, you've gotta be prepared to buy a lot of strings. I usually snap about one or two every other week. Other then that it's great, I got it at a good price.
when I plugged it in all I can say is WOW! I own a Fender American Strat and Tele, Gibson SG, and a Les Paul and if you like raw heavy sound this guitar has it.I am amazed at the fit, finish and sound.I did have to spend a couple of minutes setting the neck but after that it was ready to rock. You will not be disappointed.
As noted in other reviews the HBT finsih is awesome... When mine was delivered it suffered from string rattle and the intonation was off on 3 strings. After a few minutes with the #4 allen key and another few minutes with a phillips everything was ship shape. For those who don't know how to make these adjustments Laguna has a pretty good manual on their PLAYLAGUNA.COM site, download the PDF and learn something! Cool!
