Innovative top bracing and deluxe features make this American-made model something special.
The D-40 is a revolutionary guitar from Larrivee. This model born from years of research and testing features Jean Larrivee's first new bracing pattern in over 46 years. The "Scalloped Parabolic Hybrid" bracing system perfectly merges the strength, tonal balance, and clarity of Larrivee bracing, with the bass response, depth, and volume you'd expect from a vintage dreadnaught.
Made only in America, the D-40 comes standard with an exceptional feature set compared to similar style instruments from other manufacturers. The D-40 has a solid African ebony fretboard & bridge, single-piece mahogany neck, Canadian maple binding, bone saddle, bone nut, and bone bridge pins. Other features we include are a mother-of-pearl Logo, Grover 18:1 open back tuners, non-shrink tortoise pick guard, double action truss rod (easily adjusted at full string tension), re-enforcement for side mount electrics, durable acrylic satin finish, bold rope purfling, arch top case, and a lifetime warranty.

Comments about Larrivee D-40 Legacy Dreadnought Mahogany Acoustic Guitar:
Ok, this thing does not sound like a Martin. To be honest with you, I've been a Martin man for 15 years. At first I was unsure about the sound. Trust me though, although this is not the typical type of guitar I play, this thing is great. Action out of the box is great and it plays like a dream. Construction is perfect. This guitar has the balanced sound you would expect from a Larrivee. The bass end is a little better than most Larrivee guitars. The bass is not heavy like a Martin, but the sound is still fantastic. The sound of the string separation is my favorite part. Do yourself a favor and pick this gem up. Plus the binding around the body, binding around the finger board, cool headstock and tuners, and cool fretboard markers make this one of the coolest looking guitars I've ever seen.
