Comments about Larrivee L-03R Rosewood Standard Series Acoustic Guitar:

I'm not a professional musician nor do I even consider myself to be a good guitarist. However, when I do get the time to play, I want it to be quality time. In the past I've owned both a solid wood Martin and a Taylor. Obviously, both were fine instruments and I really enjoyed them when I had the time to play. This Larrivee L-03R is a bit different. I make the time to play this guitar.

This is the most balanced guitar I've ever played. There's something special about the spruce/rosewood combination that provides a booming bass, solid mids and clear treble. I've always heard that a quality guitar such as this will actually sound better with time, but I can't imagine. There are companies who make better guitars than this one, including Larrivee, but this is my guitar. I have no complaints.

I must also add that if there's a better company to do business with than Musician's Friend I'm not aware of it. I'm going to be in the market for a 12 string in the future. I don't know what kind I'll buy but I'm sure of where I'll purchase it.

Comments about Larrivee L-03R Rosewood Standard Series Acoustic Guitar:

I've had my Larrivee L model for about a year now and I've never owned or played an acoustic guitar with such a rich and balanced sound. The wider nut width makes it ultra comfortable for those of use with large fingers. IMHO Mr. Larrivee and company are making the best acoustic guitars available today.

Great Value - Even Better Sound

        By camarochris

Comments about Larrivee L-03R Rosewood Standard Series Acoustic Guitar:

I spent months researching and playing guitars. I set my price range somewhere around $2000. For the price this is a really solid guitar. Your not paying for fansy inlanes or anything extra. Everything goes into just a high quality construction and woods. I think some may find it plain in its asthetic but sometimes less is more and in this guitars case simplisity is beauty. The sound is great and rings clear as a bell with beautiful resonance. Its especially great for finger players as well as strumming which makes it very versitial. I was especailly impressed by the grade of the stika spruce top. It had VERY tight and consitent grains. Larrivee is a Candian company and have got the impression they are know for the high quality grades of wood. The only issue I could think of for this quality of wood on a relatively cheap guitar is the slight changing colour of the top. The rose wood sides were quite nice as well.
If you are simply looking for a guitar that is bare bones with the sound comparible to higher end guitars.. this is it. No need to put your hard earned dollars into flash and glamour because when its all said and done, the sound is what keeps you coming back.
