Comments about Larrivee OM-05 Mahogany Select Series Orchestra Model Acoustic Guitar:
I play guitar on a regular basis, t least an hour or more per day. This guitar is not my absolute favorite, and that is because I have a Taylor 810 that is as excellent in it's way as is this Larrivee; a solid tie between two excellent guitars. The sound is sweet and at the same time it projects that sound in all manner of music I have played using it. Looking inside with a mirror an light shows no excess or sloppy glue as well as razor fine joining. Thought as well as fabrication skill went into this guitar. The sound is as robust as forceful playing will produce, and as light and delicate as the player's skill to achieve that tone. Tone is what this guitar is all about. I have had friends who are bluegrass flat pickers that get all of what they expect from their favorite Martin. Fingerstyle jazz sounds as good as it can get from any other maker's best effort. It's as good a vocalist's best friend as anything produced by Gibson. I'm in my 60's and time and a bit of arthritis are beginning to take it's toll, so I have put this instrument in the hands of younger players who are at their technical best and emotive peak, and both hey an I are amazed at what this guitar is capable of producing. I would recommend this guitar to any one I know, and expect it to perform for them as well or better than any other, including guitars that cost a good deal more. I took a risk buying this guitar and it has paid off. I predict that if you give this guitar a chance it will help you rise to the peak of your skill and heart.
