Worth much more that it's price.

Comments about Luna Guitars Americana Classic Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is an amazing guitar worth more than it's selling price. Right out of the box the action was spot on and fast. The craftsmanship is beautiful and mine was flawless. My only complaint is for the price I paid for it, it came without a case. Reason I say that the much lower price muse comes with a hardshell case. Other than that reason I say this is a great guitar for all levels of players.
Beautiful and well made.
Worth more than what I paid for it, playability, craftsmanship, and price are well worth it.

A remarkable deal!

Comments about Luna Guitars Americana Classic Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have owned my other acoustic guitars for 18, 14, and 5 years respectively, and it has been years since I picked up a low end instrument that demanded I buy it on the spot. This one did, and a month later I'm still having a ball with it. I had never heard of Luna when I walked into the shop, and would have been skeptical that I'd be so impressed by a Chinese low end guitar.

I have been playing over 35 years and play rock, jazz, folk, bluegrass, fingerstyle and more. This guitar strums well, fingerpicks well, flatpicks well...really, I haven't found anything wanting on this instrument. I highly recommend you try one out!
Please note that all the ratings are in the context of "for the price." That is, for a $350 guitar the features rate a 9/10. A solid spruce top, sealed tuning machines that tune smoothly and hold tune well, built-in tuner, balanced and unbalance output, B-Band Preamp, compensated saddle is remarkable. But most surprising is the playability and tone. This has a full, balanced tone that does not overpower in the low mids the way some dreadnaughts do. So if you were like half the kids in my dorm who maxed out the low bands on their stereo graphic EQs, this guitar may not appeal to you. If you like a guitar that projects evenly across its range, look here. It takes capos well and plays comfortably up the neck.

The cutaway isn't super deep, but it allows adequate access to the upper frets. I don't like the position of the strap button on the neck heel, but it doesn't bother me much. The herringbone pattern plastic binding and rosette are surprisingly ornate for the price range.
I did adjust both the nut and the saddle height to get the action to my liking, but otherwise this is as out of the box. The dealer said it had a wonky fret when he got it, but by the time I saw it the frets were level and well dressed, so I can set the action reasonably low without buzzing.

The top wood isn't beautiful or book-matched, but it is solid wood, and from a few feet away nobody will notice the minor imperfections. I think they add character and look fine.

The bridge is set a couple of millimeters too low, so the strings gradually settle to the bottom end of the fingerboard toward the higher frets, but it doesn't affect the playability.

The strings really ring out and the top is thin and responsive.
My other three acoustic guitars are in the $2000-$3000 price range. I love them, but the last time I played out and had a drunk chick leaning all over my hand made instrument (while drooling into my mic and slurring the words to a song unrelated to what I was playing), it occurred to me I needed a gigging guitar. I expected to settle for a guitar that was good enough to get me through a bar gig, but did not expect a $350 instrument that is a pleasure to play.

Here's the big take-away for me: yeah, there are better instruments out there. But this is a stupid killer deal for $350. There are few $1000 guitars I prefer over this one.

AMD 100

Comments about Luna Guitars Americana Classic Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The quality, fit, and function of this guitar far exceeds its pricetag. The construction was very clean. The action was almost perfect right out of the box (lowered the acton just a hair). Beautiful moon inlays on the neck and nice abalone headstock inlay. Tone is wonderful, both acoustic and plugged in, due to the classic combination of solid spruce top and rosewood (laminated) back and sides. The B-band pick-up is a great feature, especially since it has a Phase button AND built-in tuner. I didn't have to adjust the volume on my amp when I plugged in this guitar after other one. Another great feature is the dual-input (1/4" and XLR). This is usually not found on more expesive modes. The only thing I don't like about this guitar is the flat-brushed tuning machines, but that's just the looks. In terms of function they work fine. I would suggest this instrument for beginners or as a gig/beater guitar for more advanced players. Would replace if lost or stolen.
