Luna Guitars

Just because it's a student guitar doesn't mean it has to have a boring look.

The Gypsy Spalt is a grand auditorium sized instrument that features a spruce top with gorgeous spalted maple graphics. Luna's signature crescent moon logo, inlaid in mother-of-pearl, shines brightly from the gently curved matching headstock.

Luna's specially designed neck profile insures a comfortable playing experience that puts challenging notes and chords within easy reach. Luna's exclusive moon phase fretboard markers, inlaid in mother-of-pearl, trace the length of the rosewood fret board over mahogany neck.

Gypsy acoustics are perfect student guitars for older children or adults that feature the look of some of Luna's regular series at a very affordable price. Case sold separately.

Comments about Luna Guitars Gypsy Spalt Grand Auditorium Acoustic Guitar:

I'm probably one if the few who bought a luna guitar in spite of how it looked. though i am a girl i didn't want a "girly" guitar, but when i was trying guitars in the store, i kept gravitating back to this one.

it was the only one in my price range that "felt right" in my hands, was the best amount of action for me, and the one i purchased had no buzzing. HOWEVER i bought the display guitar, because the new, untouched one they brought out for me DID have buzzing on the top two strings, so maybe i just got lucky with this one. the other more expensive lunas i tried didn't sound great to me, but this one sounded better and warmer to me than any other guitar in my price range, and to my untrained ear (i've been playing 10 years, but would still consider myself a beginner), i myself couldn't hear much of a difference between a super expensive taylor and this guitar. i could feel and hear the difference between it and other guitars in it's price range however. and again, it just "felt right" in my hands. BUT AGAIN, a different Luna Gypsy Spalt didn't sound as good as the one I bought due to the buzzing (and maybe the newer untouched strings??) and buzzing can be fixed...i think... lol.

I used to own a taylor GS mini, and i didn't sound great on that, but i do like how i sound on this guitar and it's way easier to finger pick than my gs mini was. IMO this does have a warm sound. is not loud, and sounded just fine when hooked up to the amp.

i wouldn't buy a luna (or any other guitar) without first playing it, as it will always be hit or miss, and even the best guitars are a matter of personal preference. i love luna's chunkier neck, and the body fit my own body well. so even though it has a graphic design on the front (which may be pretty but still "fake" none the less) i purchased this as the one i tried felt and sounded great. just try before you buy!

Comments about Luna Guitars Gypsy Spalt Grand Auditorium Acoustic Guitar:

I bought this for my friends to learn guitar during downtime at the aid station I work at in Afghanistan. I was pro before I joined the army so I have some experience with guitars of all levels. While this one isn't terrible, it's not one of my favorites. It does have a big sound and nice fat neck as well as a very nice faux finish, so you will want to play it. In my experience, having a serviceable guitar that you want to play is half the battle in learning to play.

      Wonderful!

      By Suzanne Debar

Comments about Luna Guitars Gypsy Spalt Grand Auditorium Acoustic Guitar:

Overall, I love my Gypsy! Like I mentioned, it's body and neck make playing, even with the smallest hands very easy. It sits on your lap like a warm companion!
I like the fact that Luna guitars were founded by a woman and really were made for a woman although my 30 year old son owns a Luna Muse Dreadnought & it's a good, full size guitar.
The headstock and fretboard are made of quality materials...The only thing I would have liked to seen on this guitar is something around the sound hole... It just seems unfinished somehow.
The strings provided are D'addario, which are of good quality.
Really, the only thing I don't like is there is nothing around the sound hole!
It sounds great & for the money... You get more bang for your buck !
First of all, the body of the Gypsy Spalt fits great while sitting and playing.. It's curvature fits yours and makes playing a totally comfortable experience.
The neck easily accomodates small hands & overall, this guitar is great for a woman.
The sound isn't quite as 'Bass-ey" and deep as most acoustic guitars, but it compliments those instruments that have a deeper, bass resonance.
For the price, this is a well made instrument. The look and finish are awesome!
Great value.. I think for either a beginner or seasoned player, this is a great piece.

      Campfire

      By Joseph Collins

Comments about Luna Guitars Gypsy Spalt Grand Auditorium Acoustic Guitar:

For a guitar that is this price... It sounds like more like a twice the price guitar. For someone starting out or someone who wants a guitar that you can beat around, The Luna Gypsy is the choice.
I started playing when I was 8yrs old and am now 35. I have played ALOT of guitars. I got this Luna for a camping guitar. I did have to set it up when I got it out of the box, but I was shocked by the sound this thing threw out. For the price the Luna Gypsy is outstanding. It echos through the mountains well.
