        Manuel Rodriguez

A timeless traditional Spanish classical design.

Featuring a carefully chosen, solid Canadian cedar top and laminated Indian rosewood back and sides, the C1 Classical Guitar is a beauty to behold and play. The headstock and fretboard are of Indian rosewood. Nickel-plated tuners and silver-plated frets are installed to last a lifetime. The body binding and wood rosette are exquisite.

The Rodriguez Guitar is hand crafted and glued to create precise balances. From the invisible careful sanding, even inside the body, that ensures the finished instrument's purity of tone, to the beautifully unique rosette inlays around the soundhole and on the back of the neck, each classical guitar is a credit to its luthier and worthy of being handed down from one generation to another.

The tone, resonance and beauty of fine guitars are all dependent upon the wood from which they are made. The wood used in the construction of Rodriguez guitars is carefully chosen and aged to guarantee the highest quality. No wood is purchased before the tree has been cut down, and at least 2 years must elapse before the tree is turned into lumber. The wood has to be well cut from the log. The grain must be close and absolutely vertical. The shop is totally free from humidity.

The Rodriguez classical guitar features a multi-colored wood rosette, as exquisite as the sounds that issue from it. Their intricacy and beauty signify the attention to detail that characterizes every Rodriguez guitar.

Comments about Manuel Rodriguez C1 Cedar Top Classical Guitar:

I believe that each guitar is unique so you've got to play the individual guitar before you make up your mind. I love my C1. I've owned this guitar for about three weeks now and have about thirty hours playing on her. Love it. Makes practicing happen more often and longer because I just can't pull myself away from playing the C1.

I've heard that the guitar chooses you and in this case it's true.

          Best classical guitar brand

Comments about Manuel Rodriguez C1 Cedar Top Classical Guitar:

I have played on all the other brands like Alhambra , Yamaha, cordoba and Takamine . All these guitars are worthless when compared to Manuel Rodriguez They have a beautiful construction and it looks quite impressive . Not only that the tone quality is just unbeatable.C1 has the feel when you play a classical guitar. I didnt find this in alhambra except for the volume. The tone is just not there
As far as I knw . It is the best guitar under this price range
It has an amazing tone and volume
It's worth everypenny u pay . Not only that. These Manuel Rodriguez guitars are the top manufactures in the world . They are worlds 2nd largest producers of classical guitars and also used to manufacture for fenders

          Its a really nice guitar

Comments about Manuel Rodriguez C1 Cedar Top Classical Guitar:

I do have to say these other reviews are negative on my half. I've had mine for 2 years now and its been sounding great. It didn't stay in tune at first, but thats' normal because the string need to get use to the tension. Other than that its not the best but good for someone whos not way serious about learning to be pro. Great for a student or intermediate! Oh yah way better looking than a yamaha or other factory guitar:)

NOT GETTING WHAT YOU PAY FOR

          By Edgardo

          from NYC

Comments about Manuel Rodriguez C1 Cedar Top Classical Guitar:

I am very disappointed with the 2 Manuel Rodriguez guitars I've had the misfortune of buying just over 1 year ago. I now feel that I was "suckered" by the good features and cosmetics, as well as the nice colour picture of Senor Rodriguez on the soundhole label...Suckered into buying 2 lemons...Why Fender doesn't even make a pretense at standing behind these products (1 year [extremely] limited warranty) is obvious to me now. They must have known something that I am now learning, when I see the bridge separating from the body of the C3 and the neck curling back and away from the strings on the C3 Flamenco! I have purchased cases and guitar humidifiers and used them, to no avail. I own 7 acoustic guitars currently and have been buying and playing classical/Flamenco for years. I am no novice when it comes to guitar care. I am not responsible for this damage, and it seems that the materials were not processed properly or were simply unfit for musical instruments. These guitars are now worthless and a waste of my time and money...

I received this guitar for father's day last year. Within less than a year the bridge broke completely off. This is not the first time I have heard of this happening with these guitars. I am not only bummed, but pissed off as well. Buyer beware!!!

          Good Deal at $299

          By Riverdog

          from Undisclosed

Comments about Manuel Rodriguez C1 Cedar Top Classical Guitar:

This is a real good deal for a Spanish made classical guitar. It is not so simple as taking it out of the box and playing though. When I got it the action was terrible. The nut was way too high and poorly grooved, and the saddle was also way too high. The neck was great though, and the overall fit and finish was well done for a hand finished instrument (there was some uneven spots in the finish consistent with hand application, but the finish is thin and allows the guitar to resonate). When I first played it I thought it sounded a bit thin, and the G string was very weak. I considered returning it, but instead put it on the workbench. After about an hour I had leveled and regrooved the nut, lowered and reset the saddle, made some minor alterations to the bridge and gave the fingerboard and much needed lemon oil treatment. The final result was an extremely playable guitar that responds wonderfully to the touch. The sound is now much deeper and more vibrant, and I think it will continue to develop a better tone and more complexity with more play. Don't overlook this model at this price. It is a diamond in the rough, but is very rewarding when properly setup. Just for the uninitiated internet buyer - there is no such thing as a guitar bought online that doesn't need a setup so plan on that expense when you buy and you will find a lot of great guitars out there. This guitar will not compete with a top of the line hand made classical. However, I would not hesitate to compare it to anything under $1,000 and walk away smiling. It has a beautiful solid cedar top with a nice rosette. The laminated rosewood back and sides have distinctive figuring, and the wood is bookmatched well. The fretwork was well done out of the box, and the tuners are much better than I expected at this price level. Overall, this one is a super buy if you are willing to make the effort to set it up for your touch and style.

          try another one

          By xenoforte

Comments about Manuel Rodriguez C1 Cedar Top Classical Guitar:

Rodriguez C-1 classical guitar. The one I received sounded very tight with poor bass response and muted treble. It also had several obvious construction flaws such as glue globs sticking out of the base of the bridge, extra fret position marks, poor uneven finish, etc. This instrument is really not worth even the sale price. It did play in tune, for whatever that's worth. I'm sending it back...
