        Exquisite sound and look.

Featuring a carefully chosen, solid Canadian cedar top and laminated Indian rosewood back and sides, the C3 Classical Flamenco Guitar is a beauty to behold and play. The headstock and fretboard are of Indian rosewood. Nickel-plated tuners and silver-plated frets are installed to last a lifetime. The body binding and wood rosette are exquisite.

The Rodriguez C3 guitar is handcrafted and glued to create precise balances. From the invisible careful sanding, even inside the body, that ensures the finished instrument's purity of tone, to the beautifully unique rosette inlays around the soundhole and on the back of the neck, each guitar is a credit to its luthier and worthy of being handed down from one generation to another.

The tone, resonance and beauty of fine guitars are all dependent upon the wood from which they are made. The wood used in the construction of Rodriguez guitars is carefully chosen and aged to guarantee the highest quality. No wood is purchased before the tree has been cut down, and at least 2 years must elapse before the tree is turned into lumber. The wood has to be well cut from the log. The grain must be close and absolutely vertical. The shop is totally free from humidity.

The C3 flamenco guitar features a multi-colored wood rosette, created with intricacy and beauty signifying the attention to detail that characterizes every Rodriguez guitar.

For backs and sides, Rodriguez uses Brazilian rosewood and Indian rosewood (Jacaranda). Brazilian rosewood has a beautiful color and design, making it ideal for an elegant concert classic guitar.

For the top, Rodriguez has experimented with other spruce woods from various parts of the world including North America, Canada, Alaska, Russia and Sweden, but the spruce from Central Europe is unique. Red Western Cedar is obtained from Canada and the Northwest United States. There are many different qualities and colors. As with spruce, stiffness, grain and weight are important.

For the neck, Rodriguez uses cedar from Honduras as preferred over heavy mahogany. There are many kinds of cedar, as the name is used on so many continents. The Honduras cedar used is very hard and stiff, but at the same time, light. Necks are reinforced with 2 ebony strips on the underside of the fingerboard to give total rigidity and to eliminate movement cased as a result of the aging of the guitar.

        A little disappointed

        By stratman1209

        from Sacramento, CA

        Pros

        • Great sound for the price

        Cons

        • The Bridge Broke Off

        Best Uses

Comments about Manuel Rodriguez C3 Cedar Top Classical Guitar:

I got it for Father's Day about 5 years back. After a few months the bridge broke off. I was disappointed because of the quality the company claims to maintain. I did get it repaired and was told that the lower end MR's have this problem. Other than that I use it to finger pick and play some classical songs and ballads too. Other than the repair, it is a great guitar especially because it was a gift from my wife! Peace to all!

Beautiful in sound and in looks

          By Cindy Gallegos

          from Fremont, CA

Comments about Manuel Rodriguez C3 Cedar Top Classical Guitar:

I do not think you will be disappointed at all if you purchase this guitar. Overall, it is an A+++ I actually really like the D'Addario strings. They feel very comfortable to the touch. Personally, I absolutely LOVE this guitar. Can you tell?
It has really nice tuners. I think that generally, classical guitars have the same type of features but it makes a difference ln the quality, how the guitar sounds and looks and for this price range, I am pretty impressed. I even hate to say "for this price range". I am impressed period.
The guitar is very clean. What I mean is the workmanship is very good. The binding is done very nicely. I do not see any flaws in the finish and the finish looks great! I do not see any excess glue anywhere. Although the guitar is light weight as it should be, it feels sturdy. Not flimsy at all. I do not smell any chemical oders at all. The beauty is stunning.
Honestly, this is a great value all around. If you are looking for a guitar in "this price range", you will be smiling if you purchase this one. The workmanship, the beauty, the sound. And I am just saying. For what it is worth. I guarantee that this guitar is made in Spain. If this is important to you, you might want to check where others are made if you are considering other brands. Others may have Spanish names, but that does not mean they are made in Spain.

          Nice Guitar

          By Yustas

          from Simsbury, CT

Comments about Manuel Rodriguez C3 Cedar Top Classical Guitar:

Manuel Rodriguez C3 Classical Guitar sounds fantastic. At first, I was amazed at the quality of workmanship. The guitar is also lightweight. I have gold-plated tuners and the guitar was equipped with nice D'Addario strings. They are a little too light for me but it's playable enough. I love the fact that the guitar was hand crafted. It may be a little overpriced for $500 (as of June 2010) but I don't look at that aspect because I got it for much less money. This is a great guitar. I would definitely recommend this guitar to a friend.

          Excellent sound

          By classico

          from Northern Colorado

Comments about Manuel Rodriguez C3 Cedar Top Classical Guitar:

This model of guitar has excellent sound and action for the price. I've compared it to the much more expensive Rodriguez models, and quite frankly, this one is far superior. As with any hand made guitar, however, each individual instrument will have its uniqueness...so there is no guarantee that each will sound the same as the other in this class. It is always best to play the guitar for a while to test its fit to your own preferences.
