Being that I'm left handed, I had to special order it, same price as right handed, but took 3 months to get from the factory. I had a Fishman Matrix P/U and a guitar strap button installed. It's an outstanding guitar and sounds amazing. I played several of the same guitar type, by different makers that were in the same price range, and this Martin 000 15SL won hands down. Having a real rosette would bring it up to a 5 on the features. If I lost it, I'd buy another just like it. Sounds as good plugged in as unplugged, I can say enough good about it. It is the absolute best in it's price range, and better than many, much more expensive guitars. I purchased it at My Favorite Guitars in Florida, over the internet and telephone from Jon, and had it shipped overseas to my base.

Ultimate Travel Guitar

After purchasing several "travel" guitars without finding a good sound, I decided to try the Martin 000-15s. Since I play outdoors and unamplified much of the time, I needed a guitar with a full sound, but smaller than my D-28. This guitar fit my needs perfectly. It is conpact and light, without sacrificing sound, and the 1 3/4" nut is very comfortable. I removed the pickguard to make it fit the time-period better, the dark wood is very pleasing, and it sounds equally good on a Scottish ballad, or a Neil Young song. Thanks to Martin for making a great little guitar.

So stunning that I bought TWO!

By Michael-nJyR8

I've been playing nearly 20 years now and have specialized in fingerstyle for over ten years and this guitar is by far the finest that I've owned for my particular style. Wonderful low end, nice mids and clear highs. It has slightly wider string spacing, which makes it exceptional for fingerstyle playing especially. I bought two because I keep one tuned standard and the other in DADGAD and they perform flawlessly under each tuning. It is equally stunning for rhythm playing as well. Don't let the size fool you; it's LOADED with tone. I've also equipped both of mine with Fishman Natural II pickups which seem to reproduce this guitar very, very well. I've owned tons of acoustics over the years and have finally found the Holy Grail!!! Thank you Martin.

Incredible bang for the buck.

Not my first new Martin purchase, so I knew that the action would need to be adjusted to my preferences ... lower the bridge saddle and adjust the truss rod. You need an extra long wrench for this 12 fret neck that does not come with it, but you should not attempt this adjustment without being experienced. Besides, your guitar may not need this adjustment. I ordered Tusq bridge pins the day that I ordered the guitar, as they are an improvement to the sound and I recommend doing this. With these few things taken care of, this guitar is flawless. The sound is wonderful and it plays like a dream. Beautiful Martin craftsmanship inside and out. Mahogany body with minimal appointments, 1 3/4" nut width and slotted headstock give this great guitar it's own vintage vibe. The Schaller tuning machines work smoothly and look great. I love this guitar nearly as much as my D35. I prefer the 000-15S for most of the finger-picking stuff that I do. I give 000-15S the highest recommendation. Thanks to Martin and thanks to Musician's Friend.

If you can only have 1 guitar, this is it!

It is hard to say enough about this great little guitars. I have other Martins, Larrivees, and a Taylor but this just might be my overall favorite. It is simple looking but really projects, has a mellow full-bodies sound, and it easy to play. It is just simply a comfortable guitar. I played one several months ago but didn't buy it. When I went back someone else was playing it that convinced me that I had to have it. Its one I'll be keeping for a long while.

Great Guitar

Whether your looking for a finger picking or strumming guitar, this Martin 000-15S is the one. The tone is excellent, the craftmanship is incredible, and the appointments are just right. As soon as I wrapped my hand around those strings, I knew this guitar was a keeper.

great fingerstyle and blues guitar

By Jims-WhAPy

from Torrance, CA

I own about 15 high end guitars, vintage and new...Martins, Gibsons, Collings, Taylor, Lowden..This is by far the least expensive guitar in my collection. But I keep coming back to this guitar and play it daily. Works great with a slide too. I take this guitar with me when I travel too. Very pleased with this instrument.

Warm or dull

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

I don't know if it's me or what but I think this guitar sounds dull. I don't think you can get a good sound spectrum with all one wood--and it's all sapele now.
